It's sweater weather y'all! Like it or not, chilly days are here (at least in Missouri) and it's time to cozy up in some cute sweaters! Now, I'm pretty picky about sweaters... they have to be flattering and they can't be itchy. I can't personally vouch for most of these sweaters, but I do own a few of them (which I'll point out below), and have ordered several of these too! Looking at my closet, I would say most of my sweaters are from H&M. You definitely have to weed through the good and the bad, but year after year they have awesome ones at a steal of a price! I actually ordered a few while writing this post last night! Also, I can't link from these some sites in the widgets below, but definitely check out some of my favorite online shops, Shop Lux, Maude Boutique, Lulu's and Zara for cute and affordable knits as well!
CREAMY NEUTRALS Ahhh...my favorite! I could probably own 20 cream and tan sweaters and still want more versions. I just ordered this one, I've worn this one tons already, and I have last year's version of this sweater.
COLOR
I've always been a neutrals-only kind of gal, but this year color has been growing on me! I have several of these in my cart!
I don't usually go for a bold sweater, but I can't get this one out of my head! Probably need to go ahead and order it! I'm also in love with all things leopard at the moment and love it in sweater form here & here.
We're getting some rain this week, which has reminded me that I'm probably the most unprepared person when it comes to rain. I do not currently own rain boots or even a fully functioning umbrella. The only rain jacket I have is a sporty-style one, and I love it, but it looks so insanely awkward over work attire (fun times running into work in a black waterproof jacket and pencil skirt). I've wanted Hunter boots for years and have got to make myself pull the trigger on them this year (especially because I have no shoes to wear in the snow either). Except - what color do I get?? Matte red, matte black, or something else? If you're not wanting to splurge on Hunters or don't like tall rain boots, I also love these and these that are ankle-height.
Also, I've always had the feeling that I can't pull of a trench coat, but I think if I go with a more draped style like above that I'll still feel myself in it since it's not as preppy. I just have a major mental block with them that I need to get over! I see girls looking chic in them all the time.
Despite these gaping holes in my wardrobe, one of my favorite style tips when it rains is to wear a hat and scarf! Both of these pieces can always pull together a look in my opinion, but especially when it rains and you want to keep your hair dry -or- your hair is already a frizzy or limp disaster. I like to wrap my scarf around my neck but over my hair, and then top off my look with a hat. If it's a warm/muggy rainy day, a little cotton scarf like the one above is perfect!
Any rainy day items I need to know about??

Jacy
More favorites (I've been having some tech issues, so didn't get to add all of my finds to this widget, but there's still a variety of everything in the collage)...
Somehow
half of April has zipped by already (I'm seriously in a bit of shock
right now looking at the date) and I haven't shared my monthly wish list
yet! Even though our weather is still pretty chilly here some days, I'm
fully in summer mode and am trying to think ahead to what pieces I'll
need to make the most of my wardrobe this summer.
As you can see, I'm currently craving classic black and white, soft blush and cream, as well as a few edgier accents. I love the crisp feel of black and white right now, and how it can mix and match so well all spring and summer long. I also equally love the distressed denim trend and I'm deciding on a pair of distressed skinnies as well as hunting down some affordable distressed boyfriend shorts that will be looser fitting in the leg (any recommendations for me?). I'm also planning to order both pairs of black sandals today because I need a new classic, leather pair and also can't resist those espadrilles for $20.
What's at the top of your wish list this month?
xo,
Jacy
PS - Old Navy has 30% off site-wide today with the code 'TAXDAY'! I'm planning to pick up this sundress and this midi skirt (in white). Happy Shopping!
I'm so excited because this week holds one of the best online sales of the year - the Shopbop Friends and Family Sale with 25% off site-wide (some brands excluded) when you use the code SPRING25! This is the perfect time to invest in some nicer brands and items you've been eyeing, and I'm planning to pick up another pair of Ray-Ban aviators (I'm thinking the all-black) and maybe a white or blush Rebecca Minkoff bag for spring/summer.
Some of my recommendations of what to buy during a sale like this are nicer denim brands like J Brand and Paige jeans, bags from some of my favorite designers like Rebecca Minkoff, Marc by Marc Jacobs or Kate Spade, and of course shoes and then sunnies like Ray-Bans or Karen Walkers! Let me know what you're picking up from the sale!!
I feel like I am going absolutely shoe crazy this spring! There are so many trends and styles I love this year, so I have a lot of shoes on my wish list at the moment. The reason I put my spring/summer shoe guide together early in the season is because I waited way too long to buy sandals last year. I had so many expenses and so much on my plate with the wedding and buying a house, that I didn't start sandal and shoe shopping until June and July, and by then a lot of things I wanted were sold out and I didn't have much time left to wear them. So, my recommendation is to start buying your spring and summer shoes as soon as possible! Then you can make sure you get exactly what you want and get to wear them for months to come :)
Slide Sandals: I'm obsessed with this minimalist trend and think they are so chic! J.Crew has a lot of gorgeous options, I just got this Steve Madden pair in the mail (love them), and Old Navy has some for just $12 right now! Also, if you want to brave the Birkenstock style, you can try this cheaper version from Target, or go with the real deal Birkenstocks (which I've heard are incredible).
Ankle Strap Sandals: This is a style I searched and searched for last summer but they weren't very popular yet. Obviously, I'm now ecstatic that these have gotten big and that they're available at a lot of different price points. I'm definitely planning to buy this Steve Madden style in black and maybe coral too, and this J.Crew pair would be a great investment staple as well.
Strappy Sandals: I've always loved strappy sandals and think they can be both edgy and feminine. These can vary a lot in style, so there's definitely something for everyone. This studded Rebecca Minkoff pair in blush is calling my name!
Heeled Sandals: I love heeled sandals and they've jumped ahead of wedges for me and are often just as comfortable (especially with a thicker block heel). They're versatile because they're great for work in the summer but equally as great for dressing up more casual or flirty pieces for parties, vacations or date nights.
Espadrilles: The espadrille trend is a brand new favorite of mine, but I think they are classic and absolutely darling! There are lots of designer versions available, but I love this Old Navy pair for just $23 and just discovered the affordable and adorable Soludos espadrilles. This style will look so cute with any kind of jeans in the spring and then with distressed boyfriend shorts, chino style shorts and sundresses/skirts all summer long!
What shoe trends are you loving this season, and which shoes in particular are you dying to get your hand on?? I just ordered a pair of classic white Converse sneakers, which I think will be so cute to mix into my wardrobe for a relaxed, comfortable look.
This month's wish list is all about what I'm craving for spring - clean, simple, light + timeless! We have a quick getaway to somewhere in the south coming up in a month, so I'm already thinking ahead about comfy-cute pieces that will be easy to layer and travel with. The spring transition is always interesting (but fun!) and my favorite tip is to start wearing lighter colors (white, blush, gray), even if you're still having to layer for cooler temps.
I shopped the Old Navy/Gap sale over the weekend and picked up this denim jacket, this striped shift dress, and these spring-y sweaters here and here (in 'primitive'). I'm definitely going to order Converse for our trip, but have completely fallen in love with these metallic slide sandals and want to buy them ASAP! I'm loving distressed denim at the moment (right along with everybody else) and this white pair is calling my name, plus I think I need that straw panama hat for some shade on our trip. And last but not least, the Karen Walker Super Dupers that I've been in love with for ages + this Rebecca Minkoff crossbody are both on sale right now, so I'm thinking of splurging!
Today is also the start of the ShopBop sale that runs through this Saturday! Depending on how much you spend, you can get 15-25% off your order with the code 'BIGEVENT15, so it's a great time to buy any investment pieces you've been eying. Some of my favorites included in the sale are Ray-Bans (want these), Karen Walkers (probably going to buy the pair above), and Tory Burch and Rebecca Minkoff bags.
Happy shopping! I'd love to know what you're starting to pick up for spring :)

Jacy
Other things I'm loving...
(Some show up in funky colors in the widget, so click through to see all the color options!)
I'm so sorry I didn't have a post for you yesterday! I hate missing Monday posts because it feels like my week got off to a funky start. I'm really hoping that despite the winter weather we're getting that I will have a couple of outfit posts this week!
Today, though, I wanted to talk about a jewelry brand I'm absolutely loving (me and everyone else I think) - Kendra Scott! I've loved their designs for awhile now and own one pair of their earrings, but their new colors and pieces have me falling even more in love! I love their black, emerald and turquoise designs, but with spring on my mind I couldn't help but put together a little spring collection with fresh pastels and lots of drusy. How gorgeous is their new rose quartz color??
Do you own any Kendra Scott, and if so, what do you have? Which pieces and colors are you loving right now?
This month's wish list kind of ended up having a slight Valentine's Day influence and I'm perfectly okay with that! I'm one of those people who actually loves Valentine's Day because it's the perfect excuse to write sweet notes to those you love, and to dress up for a fancy date (or girls night). These items are all on my personal wish list, but would also make wonderful gifts to give or receive.
Clothes
I actually have a pretty minimal clothing wish list this month (crazy) because I don't want to buy anything more for winter, but I'm waiting for cute spring things to come out. However, I've wanted a pair of dark wash, distressed skinnies for months, and finally found a great affordable pair at American Eagle. I've also been doing a lot of online shopping the last couple of days looking for the perfect skirt or dress for Valentine's Day since the one I ordered didn't really work out.
Shoes/Accessories
I've actually already purchased both pairs of shoes above, as well as that adorable blush clutch bag. Something to note though... I [surprisingly] had never bought shoes from H&M before and was shocked that my normal size (9.5) is a European size 41 there (usually a 10-11), so both pairs were Really big on me! Needless to say I'm exchanging them both for the next size down because they're really great for the price. Just know that their shoes do run big. I also came across those plum sunnies from UO and they're a great price and will be so cute for spring!
Jewelry
There are seasons where I happen to not like very much of the jewelry out, but this season that is so not the case. I'm not typically a statement necklace type of girl, but that BaubleBar bib necklace has stolen my heart! Since discovering it, I've seen it on a few of my favorite bloggers and that has just confirmed how much I love it. If I'm good with my spending this month I think I'm going to treat myself to it! As for the Loren Hope jewels... I love absolutely everything they design and am slowly building up my LH collection through my RocksBox subscription. I just received that bracelet in yesterday's new box and I will definitely be keeping it, and I've put those ah-mazing earrings on my RocksBox wish list because I think they're stunning!
Home
My home wish list is actually pages and pages long because we need and want so much still (I think it will probably take a few years to fully furnish and decorate everything). However, I do really want a little ring dish and/or jewelry catchall for my nightstand. Both of these options are so sweet.
Beauty
Beauty is an area where I really have to watch my spending because I often find myself walking out of Sephora spending twice as much as I had planned. There are just so many products I want to try! I am close to being in the market for a new blush and want to try a new brand. I've heard great things about NARS and MAC - do you have any thoughts on those or recommendations for other brands? I also want to purchase a new perfume in the next few months... I'm a sucker for pretty packaging but know very little about fragrance. What's your favorite/signature fragrance? I want to make a list to try out in-store. And finally, I've decided that I want to buy only nice lipsticks and stains and cut down my collection to a handful of signature shades. Simplify basically! The next shade I'm on the hunt for is a signature red lip so I'll be heading to the MAC counter soon to find one.
I've thought Hunter boots were stinkin adorable for ages now, but have never quite been able to pull the trigger on buying them because something about a $150 price tag for rain boots bugs me a bit. But seeing as we're right in prime time for winter weather and I don't even own rain or snow boots, I think this might be the month I finally buy them. I've also wanted a pair of slip-on sneakers for several months now and had purchased a pair of leopard ones, but they didn't fit correctly. SO, now I'm ordering this awesome black pair from Old Navy, but I'm also keeping my eye on all of the cute options Forever 21 has right now (including this ah-mazing metallic gold pair).
And then a few of these items I've already purchased this month... I'm on a huge beanie kick right now (may or may not have purchased 4 last week including the pom pom one above) because they add a bit of edge and texture to an outfit and for the most part they're a super cheap accessory! Aerie, Forever 21, H&M and Old Navy have really cute ones right now. I also purchased the Aerie jogger pants above because I needed some cute loungewear and they're super super comfy! And last but not least, I got this adorable and daring orange H&M sweater on clearance and it's so cute and still in stock (available in several colors).
I'm also SO excited to be teaming up with a wonderful group of bloggers to give away a $590 giftcard to Nordstrom! Nordstrom is one of my favorite places to online shop because you can get just about everything there and they have so many amazing brands.
Good luck!
(Open to residents of the US & Canada. Giveaway runs through January 18 and winner will be announced January 21.)
