We're getting some rain this week, which has reminded me that I'm probably the most unprepared person when it comes to rain. I do not currently own rain boots or even a fully functioning umbrella. The only rain jacket I have is a sporty-style one, and I love it, but it looks so insanely awkward over work attire (fun times running into work in a black waterproof jacket and pencil skirt). I've wanted Hunter boots for years and have got to make myself pull the trigger on them this year (especially because I have no shoes to wear in the snow either). Except - what color do I get?? Matte red, matte black, or something else? If you're not wanting to splurge on Hunters or don't like tall rain boots, I also love these and these that are ankle-height.
Also, I've always had the feeling that I can't pull of a trench coat, but I think if I go with a more draped style like above that I'll still feel myself in it since it's not as preppy. I just have a major mental block with them that I need to get over! I see girls looking chic in them all the time.
Despite these gaping holes in my wardrobe, one of my favorite style tips when it rains is to wear a hat and scarf! Both of these pieces can always pull together a look in my opinion, but especially when it rains and you want to keep your hair dry -or- your hair is already a frizzy or limp disaster. I like to wrap my scarf around my neck but over my hair, and then top off my look with a hat. If it's a warm/muggy rainy day, a little cotton scarf like the one above is perfect!
Any rainy day items I need to know about??

Jacy

I'm so sorry I didn't have a post for you yesterday! I hate missing Monday posts because it feels like my week got off to a funky start. I'm really hoping that despite the winter weather we're getting that I will have a couple of outfit posts this week!
Today, though, I wanted to talk about a jewelry brand I'm absolutely loving (me and everyone else I think) - Kendra Scott! I've loved their designs for awhile now and own one pair of their earrings, but their new colors and pieces have me falling even more in love! I love their black, emerald and turquoise designs, but with spring on my mind I couldn't help but put together a little spring collection with fresh pastels and lots of drusy. How gorgeous is their new rose quartz color??
Do you own any Kendra Scott, and if so, what do you have? Which pieces and colors are you loving right now?
I just wanted to share some trends I've been loving and pieces I'm hoping to add to my closet soon! I'm holding myself to a very limited shopping budget this month (unless I find the right pea coat), so I'm doing some careful planning, sale watching and making a few sacrifices.
I actually already bought the ankle zip jeans (in both the coated black & the denim blue) and they're amazing! They honestly look and feel so expensive (thank you H&M) and are comfortable and sleek (but they are very fitted, so go up a size). I love ankle length jeans because they're so easy to wear with booties (you don't have to worry about cuffing and bunching at all), and the zipper detail adds some nice edge! To be honest, I really wanted these cognac booties, but I think in order to get in on the trend and maintain my budget I'm going to settle for the faux leather pair above. I really want black and burgundy wool panama hats, and this is my favorite I've found, so I'm going to be watching for a Sole Society sale. Blanket scarves may be even bigger this year than last, so I'm hoping to get the one above or one of the ones from Asos below (I've also seen them on Groopdealz a couple of times as well). Last but not least, I won't be splurging on that gorgeous Gigi New York clutch just yet, but until then it will remain on my wish list.
I wanted to put together a little fall trend post to share some things I'll be wearing a lot this fall + some of my favorite finds recently. Fall attire is my favorite of the year, and I can't get enough of long sweaters with skinny jeans, boots/booties/flats, and fun fall accessories (scarves and wide-brimmed hats). Here are trends I'm looking out for this fall:
- Over-the-Knee Boots -
Riding boots have always been a closet staple, but this new take on the trend is taking over. These were made popular by Stuart Weitzman last year (but they are hella expensive), so fortunately this year there are some great quality options at much better prices. I love how sleek and high-fashion this style looks!
- Leopard and Plaid Scarves -
This isn't really a new trend, but it's one that's really sticking around and for good reason. We all know that a pop of leopard or plaid is instant-chic, and a scarf is an easy and affordable way to achieve that look. Plus I love that simply adding a scarf can completely change up what your top or sweater looks like (making your wardrobe stretch further).
- Wide-Brimmed Wool Hats -
These are all the rage right now. And I'm fully on the bandwagon. How much am I going to wear them in my small Missouri town? That remains to be seen. But I think they're really stinkin cute and flattering too. I already bought this one in gray and it's absolutely fantastic. So now I just need them in black, burgundy and camel :)
- Leather Booties -
Booties have been huge for a couple of years now, but I've noticed a slight shift in the trend. The last few years it's been all about suede, and now it's shifting to leather versions. I've decided I like leather even better because they just look a little more polished and high end. Nothing beats a comfy suede bootie for a laid back look still, so don't toss yours by any means! I'm just putting my money toward a leather/faux leather pair this year (leaning toward saving and buying this pair).
- Long Sweaters -
Also nothing new or mind-blowing, but brands are FINALLY starting to make more of them it seems like. I swear the last few years I could hardly find sweaters that covered my tush/hip area and I'm really not that tall. This year I've already found (and bought) several and I'm happy as a clam about it. These aren't something I like to spend tons of money on because honestly, affordable brands make awesome versions. I usually check Forever 21 and H&M first, but have had luck tons of places.
- Neutral Satchels -
If you love big (or gigantic) purses like I do, satchels are the way to go this year. They're big, but structured and super chic, even if you buy a low-end version. I've found that my H&M and Phillip Lim for Target satchels still look super polished and instantly pull my outfits together (and fit all of my makeup, snacks, notebooks...you know, the important things :) ).
I hope you enjoyed this post and that it helped you find some of the trends you're looking for! Let me know what trends you're excited about wearing, and feel free to email me at lovelenoreblog@gmail.com if you need help finding something online :)
As fall is rolling in, one of my favorite prints is as well! I'm definitely one of those who considers leopard a neutral, and it really is so easy to mix with stripes, plaid, and even the occasional polka dot. The nice thing about it is that there are so many ways to wear it - as you can see above! I own that scarf, tee and a similar H&M cardi, and am hoping to add those flats to my shoe rack in the next month or so. Accessories like phone cases and clutches are an easy way to wear it as well!
I hope the finds above and below help you get started! How are you looking forward to wearing leopard this fall and winter??
Today I'm sharing a recent shopping focus of mine - jewelry! I've always loved jewelry and been a believer in its importance in completing an outfit, but now more than ever I'm wanting to add great pieces to my collection. I've typically just purchased fun inexpensive jewelry here and there without any planning, but my game plan for jewelry has changed somewhat. While I definitely love and somewhat follow jewelry trends, I've decided I'd much rather purchase slightly fewer pieces that are better quality and that I absolutely love and want to wear for a long time.
What was the turning point for me? An amazing company called RocksBox. It's basically like the Netflix of jewelry and I've fallen in love with it. With a membership, you get to borrow 3 pieces of gorgeous jewelry each month based on a stylist's picks from your personal style profile. You can wear them as much as you want and when you're ready to return them you simply rate how you liked each piece and send them back with a pre-paid shipping label. OR if you like a piece, you simply keep it and purchase it for 20% off of retail! Yes, 20% off ladies.
Fabulous, am I right? I'm on my second RocksBox right now and both months the picks have been spot-on. Here's a peek at what was in my first box:
Want to try it out?? Try a free month on me! At the end of your month trial you can choose to become a member, or simply send your pieces back (there's no automatic membership renewal - trust me, I checked! haha). I guarantee you will love it :)
Check my Instagram this afternoon and evening for some peeks at my current RocksBox pieces :) (Hint: it includes the stunning Margaret Elizabeth druzy bangle & Gorjana cuff ring above)
