Valentine's Day Outfit Ideas
1.30.2018

Floral velvet dress
Feminine dress styled with a leather jacket and ankle boots

Trey and I are all over the place when it comes to Valentine's Day. Some years we block off the night to eat takeout and watch a movie, and other years we've gone all out with a fancy date to drinks and sushi. Regardless of what it is, I just love getting the chance to spend some time together! I know VDay is cheesy, but now that we're in the throws of busy adult-life, I do really appreciate that reminder to spend time together and to have a more romantic kind of night.

Regardless of if you're hitting the town or staying in, there are lots of ways to look cute and a bit flirty. If you're more of a casual gal, layer a lace-trim cami under a cardigan or leather jacket, or style a sweater or blouse with a deep-v and some delicate layered necklaces (so chic!). If you love to dress up, lace and ruffles are both feminine touches that I love. I personally like to add a little bit of edge to a feminine skirt or dress, which is why I styled this velvet, floral dress with a leather jacket and ankle boots!

I linked a bunch of amazing pieces below, but there are a handful of pieces I couldn't include in the widget. For outfit options I love this one-shoulder top (the print is to-die-for!), this gorgeous romper (super on sale), and all of these options here.

Valentine's Day Outfit Idea
1.29.2016

Coat: c/o Chicwish | Leggings: ASOS
Tank: Topshop | Shoes: Steve Madden (similar)
Bag: Vince | Sunnies: Karen Walker

Happy Friday! I've been thinking ahead to Valentine's Day since it's coming up in just a couple of weeks and we're starting to make some plans for a mini getaway. I feel like every year I want to wear a dress or skirt since it's a special occasion, but I swear it always ends up being bone-chilling cold. So unless you're one of those people in southern California or Florida that the rest of us are jealous of right now, here is an outfit idea for looking glam with a touch of sexy for Valentine's Day while still being winter appropriate!

Is this coat not one of the cutest things you've ever seen?? As soon as I saw it online I knew exactly how I wanted to style it, which brings me to... Leather leggings - my current obsession because they look equally amazing with sneakers (like in this post) as they do dressed up with heels. I feel like they're perfect for a wintertime date night/girls night/bachelorette/VDay because they just have a little something extra that jeans or black skinnies don't.

Thanks so much for stopping by & have a great weekend!

Valentine's Day Outfit
2.12.2015

Blazer: H&M | Tank: Tobi (old; similar tanks in red here & here) | Coated Denim: H&M (similar here, here (both under $50)) | Heels: Steve Madden (new version) | Bag: Tobi (old; want this one) | Earrings: Lisi Lerch | Watch: Fossil | Bracelets: Loren Hope & From Dylan | Lipstick: BareMinerals 'Be Free'

Today I have a Valentine's Day outfit option that I may very well end up wearing! I actually have a dressier outfit planned, but if it ends up being too cold or we eat somewhere a bit more relaxed I may opt for this look. Maybe it's the fact that I'm constantly wishing to be someplace warm, but I find that I'm gravitating toward more color these days, and I loved the bold pairing of red and turquoise.

I can't wait for tomorrow to get here! Trey and I both took the day off tomorrow, so we're going to head out of town for a mini getaway to relax, shop, and eat some delicious food, so I cannot wait!

Do you have any fun plans for Valentine's Day? I feel like a lot of my friends are staying in with their significant others this year, which we've done in the past and loved just as much.

Jacy

Date Night Outfit
2.11.2015

Top: H&M (old; similar here, here) | Blazer: Forever 21 (similar here, here, here) | Jeans: H&M (similar) | Bag: H&M | Heels: Steve Madden (their newer version) | Sunglasses: Ray-Ban c/o Sunglass Hut | Watch: Fossil | Cuff: Loren Hope | Lip Color: NARS 'Damned'

This to me is a great example of a doable day-to-night outfit. During the day yesterday I wore this top and blazer, but tucked my blouse into black ankle trousers with a belt, and wore my classic black pumps. Then after work I simply substituted these jeans and fun strappy heels to create a fun date night/casual Valentine's Day look.

Also, how fun is this little garage mural I found in an alleyway?? You would think I was in California, not in a small town in southern Missouri haha. I've been seriously craving some warmth and sunshine, but it looks like this is as close as I'm going to get for the time being ;)

February + Valentine's Day Wish List
2.04.2015

This month's wish list kind of ended up having a slight Valentine's Day influence and I'm perfectly okay with that! I'm one of those people who actually loves Valentine's Day because it's the perfect excuse to write sweet notes to those you love, and to dress up for a fancy date (or girls night). These items are all on my personal wish list, but would also make wonderful gifts to give or receive.

Clothes
I actually have a pretty minimal clothing wish list this month (crazy) because I don't want to buy anything more for winter, but I'm waiting for cute spring things to come out. However, I've wanted a pair of dark wash, distressed skinnies for months, and finally found a great affordable pair at American Eagle. I've also been doing a lot of online shopping the last couple of days looking for the perfect skirt or dress for Valentine's Day since the one I ordered didn't really work out.

Shoes/Accessories
I've actually already purchased both pairs of shoes above, as well as that adorable blush clutch bag. Something to note though... I [surprisingly] had never bought shoes from H&M before and was shocked that my normal size (9.5) is a European size 41 there (usually a 10-11), so both pairs were Really big on me! Needless to say I'm exchanging them both for the next size down because they're really great for the price. Just know that their shoes do run big. I also came across those plum sunnies from UO and they're a great price and will be so cute for spring!

Jewelry
There are seasons where I happen to not like very much of the jewelry out, but this season that is so not the case. I'm not typically a statement necklace type of girl, but that BaubleBar bib necklace has stolen my heart! Since discovering it, I've seen it on a few of my favorite bloggers and that has just confirmed how much I love it. If I'm good with my spending this month I think I'm going to treat myself to it! As for the Loren Hope jewels... I love absolutely everything they design and am slowly building up my LH collection through my RocksBox subscription. I just received that bracelet in yesterday's new box and I will definitely be keeping it, and I've put those ah-mazing earrings on my RocksBox wish list because I think they're stunning!

Home
My home wish list is actually pages and pages long because we need and want so much still (I think it will probably take a few years to fully furnish and decorate everything). However, I do really want a little ring dish and/or jewelry catchall for my nightstand. Both of these options are so sweet.

Beauty
Beauty is an area where I really have to watch my spending because I often find myself walking out of Sephora spending twice as much as I had planned. There are just so many products I want to try! I am close to being in the market for a new blush and want to try a new brand. I've heard great things about NARS and MAC - do you have any thoughts on those or recommendations for other brands? I also want to purchase a new perfume in the next few months... I'm a sucker for pretty packaging but know very little about fragrance. What's your favorite/signature fragrance? I want to make a list to try out in-store. And finally, I've decided that I want to buy only nice lipsticks and stains and cut down my collection to a handful of signature shades. Simplify basically! The next shade I'm on the hunt for is a signature red lip so I'll be heading to the MAC counter soon to find one.

Thank you so much for reading!

Other things I'm loving lately...

Love, Lenore

Dress: Rodi Boutique (sold out) | Heels: Target (old | similar)
Clutch: vintage (similar at 50% off!) | J hearts T specialized necklace (my favorite necklace!): Brin & Bell Etsy shop
Bracelets: American Eagle and Lia Sophia

Did you notice?? My blog got a makeover and I could not be more excited! I've wanted to change my blog name and URL for a long time to simplify and streamline it, and the day has finally come!

So welcome to 'Love, Lenore'! For those of you who don't know, Lenore is my middle name and it's been passed down on my mom's side of the family for a few generations. I absolutely love it, and cannot wait to pass it onto a daughter of my own someday :) I have a little more work to do on the blog redesign that I hope to have wrapped up by next week. Most of the changes have been made though, and I hope you love it as much as I do! This seemed like the perfect time to debut my new name and design, seeing as it's 'love week' and I'm wearing a fancy little dress :)

As for my outfit... Happy Valentine's Day! In my opinion, VDay is such a fun holiday to style outfits for, and I love any excuse to dress up! I will admit that it was about 10 degrees when I shot these photos in the snow, so this cute little dress was the farthest thing from practical. Because it's the middle of February, I don't know if I will actually get to wear this or not, or if I will adjust to a pink blouse, skinny jeans and heels. We shall see :)

Thank you all for following along with my blog the past two years! This is just another step in the journey, and I can't wait to continue blogging because it's something I absolutely love to do!

Jacy

A huge thank you needs to go out to my friend (and Chi Omega sorority little) Nikki Lucas, who is such a talented graphic designer and did an incredible job with my new logo. Make sure you check out her design website - nikkilucasdesign.com

Happy Valentine's Day!
I just couldn't resist posting a girly, Valentine's-inspired look today because it's the perfect excuse to wear all things pink, red and hearts! I unfortunately have a crazy day today comprised of an exam, a career fair, and work...but, Trey and I are going out for sushi later tonight and I can't wait to spend some relaxing quality time together :)
Whether you're celebrating 'Single Awareness Day' or going on a date with your honey, I hope you have a fabulous day full of love (and candy)!
