Greenhouse Vibes

This post is part two from the shoot I did with my friend Jo of Jo Johnson Photography in Columbia a few weeks ago! For the full story of why we shot in this gorgeous greenhouse check out my first post here.

Gallery Style Boutique sent me this gorgeous little set (top, shorts) for the shoot and I am still so obsessed! I love that this outfit defines the waistline and is so comfortable yet flattering.

We also got to partner with one of my very favorite jewelry brands, Kendra Scott (via their beautiful St. Louis store), to style some of their gorgeous summer collection! I love this necklace that can be adjusted to a wide range of lengths (the choker length is my favorite though), and these stunning statement earrings that totally give off mermaid vibes!

I hope you girls are all having a great week! I get to see my sister this weekend for the first time since February, so I'm wanting the rest of my work week to fly by! She moved to Virginia last August for law school and we're super close, so it's been hard on me to only see her a couple of times in a year!

Thanks for reading!

The Show Must Go On

You may remember that a couple of weekends ago I went up to Columbia (home of my alma mater, Mizzou!) with my friend Jo to do an engagement shoot, and visit my friends Ashley and Brianna.

Jo, Brianna, and I had been planning a photoshoot for months! We collaborated with a few different brands for this shoot, and I had even made an inspiration board. Naturally, out of all the beautiful weather this spring, Missouri (and surrounding states) got hit with the most intense rain that weekend and had record flooding in many places around the region.

The show [photoshoot] had to go on, so thank sweet baby Jesus that Brianna found this amazing oasis called Helmi's Gardens in Columbia.

Helmi's was the best greenhouse I've ever been to and we got to shoot in this gorgeous jungle of a place while it was monsooning away outside. They had cats, bunnies and birds, and the most beautiful selection of plants.

You may have seen on Instagram and my IG story that I brought home the perfect fiddle leaf fig from there! Shoutout to Jo for sacrificing the cleanliness of her car for me to lug that little guy home! 😜

The cutest boutique, Gallery Style, was kind enough to send Brianna and I these outfits to style for the shoot! I'd actually been eyeing this dress for a few months because you all know how much I love black, florals, and off-the-shoulder stuff :) It's so comfortable, and can easily be dressed up or down!

Long story short, Jo is such a boss and wasn't even stressed that it was pouring down rain. We shot a couple of other looks that I'll be blogging soon! For those of you who don't know, Jo helped me start my blog waaayyyy back in the day, and I seriously wouldn't be doing this without her! So I owe her forever and ever :)

Happy December! I have no idea where the year has gone, but at least it's the holiday season and that makes me happy. My blogging bestie (and now real life close friend), Brianna of Gingham and Glam, and I have been so excited to do this dressy holiday collaboration! The day we shot these photos it was so ridiculously cold, and photos took foreverrrr because we had to keep warming up in the car. Hopefully you can't tell that we're freezing our you-know-whats off ;)

Trey and I don't have any dressy holiday parties this year, but we do have a few weddings on the calendar. I'm obsessed with this BB Dakota lace dress for the holidays and any time though! It's appropriate for so many seasons and occasions, especially styled with different types of shoes. I think over-the-knee boots are a great way to make a dress a little more weather appropriate in the winter, while also putting a unique spin on your look. Simply throw on a pea coat or faux fur jacket and you're good to go!

Don't forget to check out Brianna's post to see more of her holiday glam look! Here are a few more dressy holiday pieces that I'm loving...

As you probably saw on Snapchat I spent part of this weekend in St. Louis. One of my college + sorority friends got married on Saturday and it was the most beautiful wedding I've ever attended! Every detail was stunning. I wore this dress to the wedding and got so many questions and compliments on it! I wore my hair down for the wedding, but quickly threw it up yesterday to recreate the look for the blog.

In addition to the wedding, my friend Jo and I bought last minute tickets to the Beyonce concert and I'm still on cloud 9 from it. I've always really liked Beyonce, but would never have called myself a diehard fan by any means. But, after seeing her live I will love her 'til the day I die. She is the most incredible performer! Bey danced full out the entire time and never missed a note. I need to get in her kind of shape!

How was your 3-day weekend?? I would love to know what you did! We had a busy busy weekend, but it was a great one. Friday night the high school football team Trey coaches for beat their rivals in a really exciting game to move to 3-0, and then Saturday and Sunday we camped and were out on a lake with family and friends, which was an absolute blast! I didn't use my phone for 2 days, which was actually quite heavenly. I went tubing with Trey and some of my nieces and I'm seriously so beat up from it! I have several bruises and scrapes and it looks like I got into a fight haha. One of my knees is also so sunburnt! Yes, only one. I'm officially a mess. Thankfully yesterday I got some blog pictures knocked out with my blogger bestie Brianna, and then had some down time at the house to do laundry and binge watch One Tree Hill ;)

Now onto my outfit... I instantly fell in love with the dusty pink color of this tee! It looks a little more lavender in these pics due to the lighting, but the color on H&M's site is a bit more true-to-color. It's a tissue-tee, which I think looks really cute with a bralette underneath, but you can totally do a nude bra if you want to be a bit more conservative. It's also long in the back, which makes it perfect for tucking in the front! Last week you may have seen on my Snapchat (jacylenore) or Instagram story (is that what they're officially called??) that I got this necklace from Kendra Scott last week. I've worn it so much already and I think it's so stunning! I love that the gold is muted, and that the colors work with my entire fall/winter wardrobe.

I'm such a fan of unexpected pairings, like something classic and dressy paired with something more casual and edgy --> like a blazer with distressed shorts. I like to style this sort of juxtaposition as much as possible, so now I just need somewhere to wear this! ;)

Also, totally unrelated, but... I need a volumizing mascara that doesn't flake off! I love the look of the drugstore mascara I use when I put it on, but by the afternoon I have little black flakes under my eyes. Let me know what works for you! I don't mind jumping up to a nicer brand/higher price point.

xo,
Jacy
