Some Small Wins
8.10.2017

stripe button down top with a front-tie
tie-front top, distressed skinny jeans, sneakers
short sleeve button down

Do you ever think about the little things that can make you day feel so much better? I call these small wins! The list of small wins can be endless, but here are a few random ones that came to mind 😉

When something you've been eyeing goes on sale

When you get to come straight home from work and stay in for the evening

When you have more money in your bank account than you thought you did

When you look in the mirror and don't have any zits for once

When someone gives you a wonderful compliment out of the blue and it makes your entire day! (which is why I try to give out a lot of compliments)

tie-front botton down top
summer casual: button down, skinny jeans, espadrillescasual outfit with a button-down and sneakers
Top (on sale for $7!!?? | c/o)  |  Similar Jeans (mine are old H&M)
Similar Sneakers (love the Steven & Superga pairs)  |  Sunglasses

What are some of your favorite small wins? I would love to hear!

Distressed Denim
5.07.2015

Top: H&M (old; similar) | Shorts: c/o June & Beyond Boutique (order over IG/phone/email w/ PayPal (just $32) or similar here, here, here) | Bag: Rebecca Minkoff | Sandals: Forever 21 (come in 3 colors) | Hat: Sole Society | Necklace: Kate Spade | Watch: Fossil | Nails: OPI 'mod about you' | Lips: MAC 'lickable'

If I were to have a uniform, this would pretty much be it. Nearly all-black, distressed denim, hat, and structured bag - check! We've had shorts weather this week and it's been absolutely glorious. I know I've whined before about how much trouble I have finding denim shorts that fit right, but I lucked out and found the pair I'm wearing for just $32 at my local boutique, June and Beyond. They don't have an online store yet, but their Instagram shows off all of their adorable clothes (you may or may not find me on there ;)), and you can order off of it by email through PayPal! If you're interested in these shorts they are true to size (the small fits like a size 2-4) and have a little extra room in the leg, which I love.

Tomorrow is my birthday (hooray!), so check back tomorrow for a special birthday post with some fun facts about me and more!

The Iris House
5.04.2015

Dress: Old Navy (35% off + free 2-day shipping today w/ code 'LOVE') | Shoes: Forever 21 (also love all of these espadrilles) | Sunnies: Karen Walker | Clutch: Francesca's (similar here, here, here all 30% off!) | Bracelet: Margaret Elizabeth | Earrings: c/o CherryPick | Lipstick: MAC 'lickable'

I absolutely love when something you've envisioned comes together perfectly in real life. I discovered this dreamy location while shooting photos with my favorite local boutique, June & Beyond, last week, and just had to return for my own photos. I've always found this historic home to be beautiful, but the walkway of blooming irises makes it extra charming. It ended up being the perfect location to shoot this breezy white sundress that I'm absolutely loving. It fits perfectly and is so flattering, and you truly can't beat the price. I love that it can easily be dressed up with a pair of heels for a wedding or summer date night as well.

How was your weekend?? Ours was exhausting but so productive. We picked out everything for our master bath renovation (!!!) and several other home projects on Saturday, and then spent all day yesterday working outside in the yard. The best part though was wrapping up the weekend by grilling on our back deck with our new grill and new patio furniture. It was the perfect way to enjoy the gorgeous weather and reflect on all of the progress we've made on our home and yard. I can't wait to show you before and after photos someday!

Relaxed
4.28.2015

Top: H&M (old; similar that comes in 4 colors) | Skirt: Target (old; similar here for $10 + love this one under $35 & dream of this one) | Sandals: Forever 21 | Sunnies: Karen Walker | Bag: old Kenneth Cole (love this bag) | Bracelet: Margaret Elizabeth | Watch: Fossil | Lipstick: MAC 'ruby woo'

I've been all about the relaxed, minimal look lately so I knew I had to have these Vince-inspired espadrille sandals for under $20 as soon as I found them! They're surprisingly comfortable and come in 3 color options, so definitely check them out!

I couldn't pick what colors these showed up in, so make sure to take a look at the different color options...

April Wish List
4.15.2015

Black Straw Hat | Lipstick | Black Tank (currently $20 off)

Somehow half of April has zipped by already (I'm seriously in a bit of shock right now looking at the date) and I haven't shared my monthly wish list yet! Even though our weather is still pretty chilly here some days, I'm fully in summer mode and am trying to think ahead to what pieces I'll need to make the most of my wardrobe this summer.

As you can see, I'm currently craving classic black and white, soft blush and cream, as well as a few edgier accents. I love the crisp feel of black and white right now, and how it can mix and match so well all spring and summer long. I also equally love the distressed denim trend and I'm deciding on a pair of distressed skinnies as well as hunting down some affordable distressed boyfriend shorts that will be looser fitting in the leg (any recommendations for me?). I'm also planning to order both pairs of black sandals today because I need a new classic, leather pair and also can't resist those espadrilles for $20.

What's at the top of your wish list this month?

PS - Old Navy has 30% off site-wide today with the code 'TAXDAY'! I'm planning to pick up this sundress and this midi skirt (in white). Happy Shopping!

I feel like I am going absolutely shoe crazy this spring! There are so many trends and styles I love this year, so I have a lot of shoes on my wish list at the moment. The reason I put my spring/summer shoe guide together early in the season is because I waited way too long to buy sandals last year. I had so many expenses and so much on my plate with the wedding and buying a house, that I didn't start sandal and shoe shopping until June and July, and by then a lot of things I wanted were sold out and I didn't have much time left to wear them. So, my recommendation is to start buying your spring and summer shoes as soon as possible! Then you can make sure you get exactly what you want and get to wear them for months to come :)

Slide Sandals:
I'm obsessed with this minimalist trend and think they are so chic! J.Crew has a lot of gorgeous options, I just got this Steve Madden pair in the mail (love them), and Old Navy has some for just $12 right now! Also, if you want to brave the Birkenstock style, you can try this cheaper version from Target, or go with the real deal Birkenstocks (which I've heard are incredible).

Ankle Strap Sandals:
This is a style I searched and searched for last summer but they weren't very popular yet. Obviously, I'm now ecstatic that these have gotten big and that they're available at a lot of different price points. I'm definitely planning to buy this Steve Madden style in black and maybe coral too, and this J.Crew pair would be a great investment staple as well.

Strappy Sandals:
I've always loved strappy sandals and think they can be both edgy and feminine. These can vary a lot in style, so there's definitely something for everyone. This studded Rebecca Minkoff pair in blush is calling my name!

Heeled Sandals:
I love heeled sandals and they've jumped ahead of wedges for me and are often just as comfortable (especially with a thicker block heel). They're versatile because they're great for work in the summer but equally as great for dressing up more casual or flirty pieces for parties, vacations or date nights.

Espadrilles:
The espadrille trend is a brand new favorite of mine, but I think they are classic and absolutely darling! There are lots of designer versions available, but I love this Old Navy pair for just $23 and just discovered the affordable and adorable Soludos espadrilles. This style will look so cute with any kind of jeans in the spring and then with distressed boyfriend shorts, chino style shorts and sundresses/skirts all summer long!

What shoe trends are you loving this season, and which shoes in particular are you dying to get your hand on?? I just ordered a pair of classic white Converse sneakers, which I think will be so cute to mix into my wardrobe for a relaxed, comfortable look.

Thanks so much for reading!
