orange crush.
8.12.2013

Top: Target | Shorts: Express (similar)
Wedges: Target | Bag: Tobi (last seen here)
Necklace: Forever 21 (similar) | Bracelet: ASOS

I've been crazily obsessed with orange this summer! Embarrassingly enough, my bedroom used to be coral and tangerine, and once I realized how un-chic that was (and how much of a headache it gave me), I disowned orange for a few years. But, I'm obsessed again. Hopefully in a more tasteful way this time around though...

Top: H&M (in-store only / like these sheer panel tees here & here) | Skirt: Target
Shoes: Target | Necklace: 'Beadz & Bling' Etsy shop (J. Crew original here)
Bracelets: ASOS, F21, Francesca's

It's a new month, which means it's time for a new remix series and I'm jumping right in! I couldn't wait any longer to post this skirt. It's without a doubt one of my favorite purchases this year and the $14.99 price tag makes it that much better. I've been extra obsessed with coral, orange and red this summer, so I love this fun orange-y print! I also love the challenge of dressing up a casual skirt a little bit. In this case, the sheer panel dresses up my tee, and my jewelry and heels add a slightly more sophisticated feel.

I loved all of your responses to last month's remix series, so I hope you all enjoy this one as well!

Top: Forever 21 | Skirt: Target
Heels: Target | Bag: Tobi (found here)
Bracelet: ASOS | Lips: Red Apple Lipstick

This is a semi-dressy look I wore to work yesterday because I wanted to style my new Target skirt! It's a great length because it's conservative enough to wear to work (at a somewhat casual office) but short enough for a date or night out! Because I'm on the taller side this happy medium can be shockingly hard to come across, so I snatch up every affordable opportunity I come across. I also really liked the subtle studs along the pockets, which add a little bit of interest and texture, and easily tie in with other neutrals and gold accents. SO, great purchase - I highly recommend!

Bracelet: Asos | Rings: Gorjana & Griffin

I'm finally posting! So, so sorry. I guess I was having a little too much fun in California, and yesterday I was traveling and then exhausted from traveling. But now things should be back to normal :)

Ironically I purchased this top and skirt on the same day and accidentally saw they went together when they were laying on my bed. For some reason, I always seem to wear things together that I bought on the same day - so weird! I'm obsessed with this little leopard skirt though (and the price as well)... It makes leopard summery, which I'm clearly happy about because it's my favorite!

6.05.2013

Top: Tobi (also like this one) | Skirt: H&M (old, but similar here)
Shoes: Target | Clutch: Aldo (old, but love this one)
Gold spiked bracelet: Asos | Necklace: Forever 21 (similar here and here)
Stacking initial rings: Gorjana & Griffin | Lip color: Revlon

Neon has become such a huge trend this season and while I love it, it can be a little tricky to style without looking too 'young,' etc. I've found that the best way [for me] to style it is to balance neon pieces with soft neutrals. So, a more sophisticated, white peplum top was the perfect way to balance my fun tangerine skirt. I added additional color in my clutch, necklace, and lip color (one of my favorite ways to add a subtle pop of color to a look, and SO easy), then stuck with neutrals in my shoes and bracelets.

Are there any tips you've figured out in styling neon hues?

june remix: skater skirt {1}.
5.31.2013

Skirt: boutique find (similar here) | Top: Asos
Heels: Target | Clutch: Aldo (old, but love this one)
Bracelets: Asos, Francesca's, Forever 21 | Gold rings: Gorjana & Griffin
Nails: Essie 'French Affair'

I'm absolutely loving the skater skirt trend ~ it's so girly and fun! I snatched this one up at a boutique and love it, but haven't had the chance to wear it as much as I'd like. So, I chose it for my 'June Remix' so I'd have an excuse to style it more! I envision this look for a date night because it's dressy, but not overdone. I usually style my relaxed Asos tee with boyfriend jeans or denim shorts, but wanted to try my hand at dressing it up a little!

Stay tuned for my other two skater skirt looks throughout the month! Have a lovely weekend!

maxi skirt 3 ways {finale + recap}.
5.22.2013

Skirt: Forever 21 (love this one) | Top: PacSun (similar)
Spiked bracelet: Forever 21 (similar)
Wedges: Target | Necklaces: old Forever 21 & vintage
Lip color: Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in "Rendezvous"

This is a great go-to outfit because it's so easy to put together for a last-minute dressy occasion in the summertime. The great thing about a maxi skirt is that it will look great with all different types of tank tops, so you can style endless varieties based off a look like this. Tank top, maxi skirt, wedges - check! Also, I know shorter, statement necklaces are all the rage this season, but I still like layering my longer necklaces with certain tops like this one because it can lengthen a look.

This was the third of three ways I styled this maxi skirt this month!
Which look was your favorite??

Necklace: Francesca's (love this one) | Bracelet: Forever 21 (similar & on sale!)

May is my favorite month of the year and I love that it's the bridge between spring and summer. We've received SO much rain the last few weeks, so these May flowers had better be pretty amazing ;) I wanted to feature this maxi skirt because it's one of my favorite pieces to style in the spring and summer! I love that this Rachel Zoe-inspired trend has stuck around for another year because in my mind it's the definition of easy chic!

pink blazer 4 ways {part 3}.

Tee: Target | Heels: Target (old)
Necklaces: Forever 21 (similar here and here) | Spiked Bracelet: Forever 21 (similar)
Nails: 'Minted' by Revlon

First of all, I'm so sorry for the delay on my 3rd and 4th pink blazer looks! We've been hit with two different snow storms this week and it's been chaotic to say the least. Also, my dad took these photos...how awesome is he?!

But onto my outfit... This is probably my very favorite way to style a blazer because it's that perfect mix between casual and dressy. I hope to work in a business-casual work environment following graduation (in May - so soon!) and this is an example of what I'd love to wear to work :) A white v-neck and skinny jeans are staples that everyone should have in my opinion. Simply throw on a great pair of heels (black, colorful, wedges, whatever!) and a blazer and you've upgraded your white tee/jeans into a look that's sophisticated and trendy! I layered gold chain necklaces because they're some of my favorite jewelry pieces at the moment, and added a little extra color in my spiked bracelet and mint nails.

Sweater: Forever 21 (similar style) | Skirt: BCBGeneration (old)
Heels: Target (old) | Necklace: Francesca's Collections (pretty ones here and here)
Pink & Gold Bracelet: Forever 21 (similar here and here)

This cozy sweater has been great for chilly days, but I also love the trendy almost-neon color! It's so versatile too...great to throw on with jeans and boots, or dressed up with a skirt like I did here. I wore this on a date with the boyfriend a few weeks back because it's a great transitional look from winter to spring! I'm running out of ideas for those though. So seriously Spring, please get here!

Be sure to check out my Stella & Dot Online Trunk Show! I have so many things on my wishlist that I can't decide between because their stuff is just too cute. Also, if you purchase anything from my trunk show you're eligible to win this giveaway!
