Winterized Skirt
1.28.2015

Sweater: June & Beyond Boutique (cute colorblock sweaters here, here (both an extra 30% off today), here (extra 40% off sale price)) | Skirt: Target (similar) | Boots: Vince Camuto via Nordstrom (40% off!) (similar on sale for $55) | Beanie: Forever 21 (nearly identical) | Bag: Phillip Lim for Target (very similar) | Leggings: Express | Watch: Fossil | Bracelet: From Dylan c/o | Ring: From Dylan c/o | Sunnies: Amazon (want these) | Lips: NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in 'Damned'

I don't know about you, but I always start to get really sick of jeans and pants this time of year! I feel like you can only make a pair of jeans so exciting or creative unless you have a massive supply of cute tops and jackets (which I do not). So, I came up with this idea to style my trusty black skater skirt in a warm, winter-appropriate fashion and I love how it turned out (and that it will work with a bunch of my sweaters/tops).

I also wanted to point out that my OTK boots are now 40% off with almost all sizes still available! Thanks for reading!

Stripes in Central Park
8.06.2014

Top: J. Crew Factory (sold out | similar) | Skirt: Target
Sandals: Gianni Bini (crazy on SALE & comfy!) | Bag: Old Navy
Sunglasses: Ray-Ban | Watch: Fossil | Bracelets: Lily and Laura, Cathryn Ann

I'm back!!! Thanks for being patient with me through my life craziness the past month. But hey, WE GOT MARRIED!! I'll share more on our wedding later, but it was such a fun and amazing day and it went flawlessly.

Tomorrow life goes back to normal after our amazing honeymoon (posts to come on that too), and in the last bit of quietness I wanted to get back to blogging. I wish we had documented more of my outfits on our trip, but you know how that goes in reality (hah). We did snap these at Central Park though! Speaking of which, it is one of the most incredible places I've ever been. I couldn't believe how calm and beautiful it was right in the middle of Manhattan.

Blush Pink / Cropped
5.28.2014

Top: Forever 21 (similar here, here and more below) | Skirt: Boutique find (similar)
Heels: Target (similar here and here) | Bag: Kenneth Cole Reaction (old)
Bracelets: F21 (old), Lily and Laura (good options here)

I can't tell you how big of a relief it is when the timing and weather finally work out to take outfit photos! My friend Kate of Just Kate and I got to spend a little time yesterday evening shooting blog photos for each other and hanging out - so fun :)

Those of you who have seen a lot of my posts this spring know how much I'm loving crop tops and skater skirts at the moment (here for example). This particular pairing is both feminine and fashion-forward, and I'm actually thinking of wearing this top with a blush pink midi skirt I own for my bridal shower (another perk...no spending necessary)!

Memorial Day Weekend
5.23.2014

Top: Target (this brand runs slightly big, so I sized down) | Skirt: Target
Heels: Steve Madden (similar here and here) | Bag: Target (sold out)
Watch: Fossil

Happy 3-Day Weekend! I'm itching for 5pm to roll around already, and can't wait for the long weekend. My plans? Wedding crafting, addressing [countless] invites, working out, and hopefully layout out! What are your plans??

Side note... I picked up this amazing pink top at Target this week and can't get enough of it (I've already worn it twice). The pop of color is bananas, and it's the type of top that can be worn with shorts or dressed up with a pencil skirt for the office. I'm obsessed.

Crop Top
4.28.2014

Top: Forever 21 (in-store | black crop top picks below) | Skirt: Forever 21 (in-store | black skater skirt picks below)
Heels: Steve Madden (similar here and here) | Bag: Phillip Lim for Target
Necklace: Forever 21

I actually wore this outfit for our engagement photos, and it was just the right amount of fun & daring I was looking for in my final look. My 3 other outfits were dresses, so this changed it up perfectly. Hopefully years from now I'll still love this outfit, but we'll see! ;)

I was so skeptical of the crop top trend at first, but now I'm fully a fan when paired with a high-waisted skirt or shorts! This was the first one I've bought, and I've since purchased two more, which I think will be so fun to wear on our honeymoon in NYC!

Dressed Up Sweatshirt
3.25.2014

Sweatshirt: Forever 21 (similar here and here) | Skirt: Francesca's (similar)
Heels: Target (similar here and here) | Bag: Kenneth Cole Reaction
Necklace: J. Crew Factory (J. Crew version here or cheaper version here)

I've had this outfit in mind for quite some time, but we're finally starting to get the right kind of weather here to wear something like this! Living in a smaller Missouri city doesn't exactly give me tons of opportunities to dress up, so I love the idea of mixing dressy and casual items together. Cue this little sweatshirt (which I've owned for years and years)! The shorter length works great with a high-waisted skirt, and the basic design and color make it a great palette to play up with jewelry and other accessories.

In case you missed it, yesterday's post was all about skater skirts and dresses! I linked up some of my favorite shopping finds so far, and pulled out a few of my own favorite skater skirt/dress looks from last year.

Trend to Try: Skater
3.24.2014

One of my favorite trends for this spring & summer is the skater / fit & flare hemline! It became really popular last year and I'm glad it's stuck around. I personally think this hemline is so flattering, and that it's adorable too! I'm a big fan of anything that defines the waist and then flares out away from the hips/thighs.

Skaters skirts can easily be dressed up or down, and I'm excited to wear them this summer with another of my favorite trends - the crop top! Here are some of my favorite finds:

Skater dresses are also really great pieces to dress up or down because of their simple cut and typically solid colors or simply prints. A few favorites:

I've worn this trend many times (and I'm not stopping anytime soon), and here are a few of my favorite looks!

Is this a trend you'll be wearing this spring and summer?

March Remix: Little Black T-Shirt {2}
3.12.2014

T-shirt: Target (I went up a size) | Skirt: boutique find (similar here and here)
Heels: Steve Madden (similar here and here) | Purse: Tobi (similar here + more below)
Necklace: J. Crew Factory (J. Crew version here)

Hello all! This is my second remix look of the month styling my little black t-shirt (check out the first look here). Besides the obvious ways to wear a t-shirt, I wanted to take it up a notch and dress up my basic black tee a few different ways to show what a versatile piece it can be! In the spring and summer I love throwing on a t-shirt with a skirt and sandals for an easy, but cute outfit. It's easy to dress up too by simply adding some heels, lipstick and a dressier bag!

Jacy
