Top: H&M (available in lots of colors) | Pants: H&M (I sized up because they're a slim-fitting stretch pant) (similar)
Heels: Target (similar) | Bag: Phillip Lim for Target
Necklace: J. Crew Factory | Bracelets: F21 & Lia Sophia

Hello and Happy Friday!
In today's look I'm wearing both a bright color (insanely bright, really) and a bold print! Both are rare for me, but I'm loving the fun result (and finally having some new clothes to style). These are two trends I'm pretty obsessed with at the moment too... Slim cropped ankle pants are my new favorite (I have two pairs of this silhouette and am ordering a 3rd today). They're quite flattering and can be dressed up or down! And then wrap-front blouses are a fun trend too! I'm loving mine from H&M and wanted all of the color and print options.

Hope you all have a great weekend! We'll be continuing the home search, and working on some furniture DIY projects :)

wear pink | breast cancer awareness month
10.14.2013

As I'm sure most of you know, October is Breast Cancer Awareness month! I've seen close family friends, and friends' loved ones, fight this horrible disease and I hope and pray that they find a cure soon. That being said, I hope that Breast Cancer Awareness Month continually brings awareness to the fight against all cancers! I've had family members fight other forms of cancer, and lost my grandmother to Pancreatic cancer, so I lend my support to the eradication of all cancers. It's so important to fight to find a cure through cancer research, and also to support those fighting the disease by helping out with treatment.

That being said, I love that Breast Cancer Awareness Month uses pink to bring awareness in a fun and optimistic way! The more awareness we can spread, the better :) Conveniently, pink is definitely having a moment in the fashion world this fall and winter and I love it. Here are some of my favorite pink shopping finds:

Skirt: Forever 21 (similar here and here) | Top: Banana Republic (similar here and here)
Heels: Target | Necklace: Forever 21
Bracelet: vintage

I bought this ultra-feminine pleated skirt back in May, and I'm just in love with it! I probably should have gotten around to styling it earlier, but better late than never right? :) Anyways, I love the trendy 'midi' length and the pale pink color! Those of you that have followed my blog for awhile...have you noticed that my style has gradually gotten more girly over the last year?? I'm not sure why that is, but I guess it's part of the evolution and maturation of one's style.

Easter!
4.01.2013

Top: old boutique find | Skirt: similar here and here
Heels: Target (similar) | Earrings: Target (similar)

I hope all of you had a great Easter yesterday! Because it fell at the end of my spring break this year I got to spend it with my family, which was so wonderful.

I scored this pink skater skirt a few weeks ago and I've been dying to wear it! Easter is the perfect time to break out pastels, and we finally had a warm sunny day, so it proved to be the perfect occasion.

Have a great week!

Sweater: Forever 21 (similar style) | Skirt: BCBGeneration (old)
Heels: Target (old) | Necklace: Francesca's Collections (pretty ones here and here)
Pink & Gold Bracelet: Forever 21 (similar here and here)

This cozy sweater has been great for chilly days, but I also love the trendy almost-neon color! It's so versatile too...great to throw on with jeans and boots, or dressed up with a skirt like I did here. I wore this on a date with the boyfriend a few weeks back because it's a great transitional look from winter to spring! I'm running out of ideas for those though. So seriously Spring, please get here!

Be sure to check out my Stella & Dot Online Trunk Show! I have so many things on my wishlist that I can't decide between because their stuff is just too cute. Also, if you purchase anything from my trunk show you're eligible to win this giveaway!

pink blazer 4 ways {part 2}.
3.13.2013

Blazer: Forever 21 (old, similar) | Tunic: Forever 21 (old)
Leggings: Express (best. leggings. ever.) | Boots: Antonio Melani via Dillards
Bag: Aldo (similar) | Necklace: Anjolee

For my second pink blazer look I wanted to style something fun, easy and casual! I intern/work at a casual office, so I like playing around with looks that are trendy but still casual, and this was what I wore to work yesterday. As those of us in the Northern Hemisphere are in that transitional period between winter and spring, I like the challenge of incorporating spring colors into functional winter looks. In the dead of winter I would normally style this look with a black cardigan or something similar, but with spring fast approaching I wanted to throw in some pink! Cue the blazer, purse, lipstick and nail polish. Can you tell I have the spring bug?

tuesday twist: 4 ways to wear a fancy skirt {part 4}.
7.31.2012

Skirt: Target (old). Tank top: PacSun. Vest: Forever 21 (old). Booties: Aldo (similar pair here). Bracelet: Vintage.  Nail polish: "Minted" by Revlon.

For my final Tuesday Twist look this month, I wanted to do something totally different with this skirt! I hardly ever wear this vest because I have never thought of many ways to style it, but I like the contrast between a tougher, wool piece and a light airy piece. On another note, these hidden wedge booties from Aldo are some of the most comfortable shoes I have ever owned! You'll probably see me wearing them a lot in the coming fall and winter months :)

I love the spot where Jordyn snapped these photos because the colors look so neat with this outfit. Check out all of the gorgeous new photos she's done lately (including some amazing dance photography) on her Facebook page!

tuesday twist: 4 ways to wear a fancy skirt {part 3}.
7.24.2012

Skirt: Target (old). Strapless cami: PacSun. Beaded clutch and sparkly ring: vintage. Studded heels: Aldo (I like these and these). Watch: Fossil. Pearl wrap bracelet: gifted. Nails: "Minted" by Revlon.

I know I've shown a couple of more casual ways that I wear this skirt, so this week for Tuesday Twist I wanted to do something a little fancier! Black is always a go-to when I want to dress up, and I liked how much the pink tulle stood out against a simple top.

I've realized that all of my favorite pieces of jewelry have been gifts or passed down to me at some point. The freshwater pearl wrap bracelet I'm wearing here was a gift to me on my 8th birthday from my late grandmother. I love how timeless pearls are and that I adore this bracelet even more now than I did when she gave it to me! Similarly, the silver spoon ring I always have on belonged to my mom when she was younger, and I've worn it nearly every day since she passed it down to me. I guess I just love looking down and thinking of special times and people in my life...
What's your favorite piece of jewelry that's been given to you from someone special?

xx A special thank you to my dear friend Jordyn of Jo Photography who snapped these lovely photos for me! xx

tuesday twist: 4 ways to wear a fancy skirt {part 1}.
7.03.2012

Tulle skirt: Target (old). Top: Blue Rain from Francesca's (borrowed from my sister). Cross-body clutch and sandals: Aldo Shoes last summer (love this pair of sandals on sale here!). Rose ring: Forever 21. Braided suede bracelets: H&M. Earrings: a gift from my mom :)

For this month's Tuesday Twist I chose this pale pink tulle skirt. When I scored this skirt from the sale rack at Target a few years ago (I couldn't turn down something ballet-inspired after all of my dancing years!) I didn't expect it to be a versatile piece of clothing and for awhile I simply styled it with a nice black tank top and sandals or occasionally heels.

However, with a little creativity (and boredom perhaps) I've figured out many different ways to style this skirt, and hopefully the four ways I'm demonstrating this month will give you some ideas to use with your own wardrobe! This is a summery way to style this skirt with the white and pastel shades, an airy embellished tank, and a casual bag and sandals

Happy 4th of July!
