February Remix: Boyfriend Jeans {3 + recap}
2.28.2014

Top: Target (similar here + more below) | Jeans: Gap (similar here and below)
Heels: Steve Madden (sold out | similar option here) | Clutch: Gap (non-neon version here)
Necklace: Forever 21 | Bracelets: Forever 21 and Lia Sophia

Happy Friday!
After a stressful week of work and wedding planning, and the internet being out at our house, I'm pretty ready for the weekend.

For my third & final boyfriend jeans look this month, I went for simple sophistication! I love this loose peplum top because it's easy to dress up or down, and pretty much goes with everything. The relaxed fit of my top and jeans makes the outfit not overly fancy, which leaves room to add in fun accessories like strappy heels, a statement necklace, and a bright bag.

Here are my 3 looks from this month! Which was your favorite?

Using this fun new statement necklace as a pop of color for my wintery outfits. Found in-store recently at Forever 21 | Different color online here. Lipstick: Revlon balm lip-stain in Smitten

I know February is a shorter month to begin with, but gosh has it flown! After having a little downtime in the wedding planning process, it has picked up with a storm this past week! As you know, we took engagement photos weekend before last, and now are ready to get our save-the-dates ordered this weekend. I'm trying not to think about how long it's going to take me to address those envelopes. And don't get me started on the guest list! It's no fun. At all. There have been some fun things though... I met with my wedding planner this week, and we're setting up appointments for our reception dinner brainstorm, florals & other decor, and hair trials soon. Plus, I think I've decided on a theme for our centerpieces! They're going to be mostly DIY...so that will be quite the adventure for my non-crafty self :) More on the centerpieces later though...

Have a great rest of the week! I'll be back tomorrow with a new outfit post to wrap up my boyfriend jeans remix series :)

Winter Beauty Savers
2.25.2014

I know, I know... We've all got spring on the brain. And maybe I'm a little late putting together this post. But the weather is definitely still on the wintery side here, and as much as I'm ready for sundresses & such, my pale, dry skin is screaming otherwise. So, here are some of my favorite winter beauty products to help save my skin and lips from having that dull, dry appearance...

Fake Bake Self-Tanner
I really try to not care about if I'm tan or not anymore, unlike back in high school when a fake tan was pretty essential to pair with your Hollister t-shirt if you wanted to be 'cool' (yikes). But this winter I've felt especially pasty and desperately needed a bit of color and a 'glow' for our engagement pictures a few weeks ago! I splurged on Fake Bake for $25 at Ulta (yes, this is a beauty splurge for me), and after using it several times I've realized it was so worth it! It comes with 2 different lids, and I use the spray top to get the most even, light application. Another difference-maker is that it comes with an application mitt, onto which you spray the self tanner, and then apply in a circular motion. I have never had one streak or uneven area! It's a miracle worker. Trust me on this.

Aquaphor
Around Christmas I was experiencing extreme dryness around my eyes, which was causing my concealer to cake up horribly. As a former oily-faced, pimple-stricken teen, this was a completely new concept to me. I knew of Aquaphor's healing powers because my sister, a college swimmer, has always used it for swimsuit chafing on her ribcage. I tried it around my eyes and within 2 days the problem was 100% solved. Now I'm just in maintenance mode, and apply it around my eyes, bottom of my nose, and my chin a couple of nights a week before bed.

Softsoap Coconut Butter Scrub
I'm not "one of those people" that exfoliates consistently by any means, but exfoliation can feel SO GOOD in the dry winter months. This body wash smells heavenly and tropical, and is still creamy enough to not be too tough on your skin. I love using this after sweaty workouts because I feel like it really gets off the sweat and makes me smell yummy again. Oh, and did I mention it's only $3.48 at Walmart?!

Smith's Rosebud Salve
This is a classic beauty item, and for good reason. This is the best stuff I've found to stay on my lips for a long time, and to actually moisturize them. I've had my beat-up little tin for a couple of years now, and it's lasted me that long with using it every single night before bed. It's really the best... I could go on and on about it.

What are some of your winter beauty-savers??

Blog Swap | Work Chic
2.24.2014

Happy Monday everyone!
Today I'm so excited to be doing a blog swap with my sweet and absolutely stunning blogging friend Vanessa of Style X Vee! Vanessa just started blogging in December, but has such chic, distinctive style and is a makeup goddess. Her blog features looks for both work and play, and lots of extremely helpful makeup and beauty tips. Somehow, she does all of this in the midst of relocating to a new city and home with her husband. We've wanted to do a blog swap for awhile, and thought a chic work look would be both fun and fitting since we're both hard working gals. Thanks so much for reading, and please check out Vanessa's fabulous blog!

Hello! I'm Vanessa from stylexvee and I am so happy to be doing a blog swap with the lovely Jacy! You love her and so do I, it is that serious. Can we just talk about how gorgeous her eyes are? Today I wanted to share with you my version of a work outfit I would wear regularly. My work is business causal and while I could totally get away with wearing something a bit more laid back, I have a thing for dressing up. My makeup for work is also something I like to play around with and lately I have been absolutely obsessed with Stila Liquid Lipstick in Beso. This baby dries to a matte finish, extremely creamy and stays put while I have business meetings and lunches.
This polka dot peplum top was something I found randomly one day at H&M (sadly no longer available, but I've got dupes below) and you just cannot go wrong with a black pencil skirt. I typically wear these nude brown pumps from Pour La Victoire when I know I want to look polished and nude pumps make your legs look like they go on for days! Yes, they are pretty tall, but the platform heel and the cushion insert makes you feel as if you are walking on air. A total must for me!

I hope that this outfit gives you all a bit of inspiration and brightens up your Monday morning. If you are looking for some more inspiration, I hope you'll follow me on my blog and Instagram where I post fashion and LOTS of beauty tips and tricks.

Thanks so much for reading and have a lovely week.

xo,

Vanessa

Cozy Blue
2.19.2014

Dress: H&M | Booties: DV by Dolce Vita
Tights: Express | Bag: Phillip Lim for Target
Necklace: Forever 21 (similar here (on sale!) and here) | Watch: Fossil | Bracelets: F21 and Lia Sophia

So, I got this dress in the mail from H&M last week and wore to work the next day! Sweater dresses aren't anything particularly revolutionary or trendy this winter, but I definitely love them. I love this particular one so much that I now own it in two colors (see my other one here). I have a pretty casual workplace, which is awesome, but I get pretty sick of wearing jeans every day in the winter! So, casual skirts and dresses that I can wear with tights are definitely my friends. And this particular one hangs loosely, and is so comfy to sit in all day at my desk - a huge plus.

February Remix: Boyfriend Jeans {2}
2.17.2014

T-shirt: Target | Jeans: Gap (similar + more below)
Flats: Target | Scarf: H&M (similar)
Watch: Fossil | Bracelet: Forever 21 | Bag: Phillip Lim for Target

Happy Monday! I hope you all had a wonderful Valentine's Day weekend :)

The highlight of my weekend was taking our engagement photos yesterday! I could not be more happy with how they turned out and I'm absolutely obsessed! I've only seen 8 so far, which you can take a look at on Jo Johnson Photography (we're the first album). Styling our outfits the past couple of weeks was a blast, and we ended up doing 4 different looks. I love how they all turned out, and honestly will be flipping through the photos all day!

Now to my outfit... For the second look of my Boyfriend Jeans remix series I wanted to do an everyday, casual outfit that's so easy to put together with items you probably already own! A great way to add variety to the jeans + tee look is to throw on a cardigan, blazer or leather jacket too. And if you missed my first post, I styled my bf jeans in a more sophisticated way here.

Jacy

Love, Lenore
2.13.2014

Dress: Rodi Boutique (sold out) | Heels: Target (old | similar)
Clutch: vintage (similar at 50% off!) | J hearts T specialized necklace (my favorite necklace!): Brin & Bell Etsy shop
Bracelets: American Eagle and Lia Sophia

Did you notice?? My blog got a makeover and I could not be more excited! I've wanted to change my blog name and URL for a long time to simplify and streamline it, and the day has finally come!

So welcome to 'Love, Lenore'! For those of you who don't know, Lenore is my middle name and it's been passed down on my mom's side of the family for a few generations. I absolutely love it, and cannot wait to pass it onto a daughter of my own someday :) I have a little more work to do on the blog redesign that I hope to have wrapped up by next week. Most of the changes have been made though, and I hope you love it as much as I do! This seemed like the perfect time to debut my new name and design, seeing as it's 'love week' and I'm wearing a fancy little dress :)

As for my outfit... Happy Valentine's Day! In my opinion, VDay is such a fun holiday to style outfits for, and I love any excuse to dress up! I will admit that it was about 10 degrees when I shot these photos in the snow, so this cute little dress was the farthest thing from practical. Because it's the middle of February, I don't know if I will actually get to wear this or not, or if I will adjust to a pink blouse, skinny jeans and heels. We shall see :)

Thank you all for following along with my blog the past two years! This is just another step in the journey, and I can't wait to continue blogging because it's something I absolutely love to do!

xoxo,
Jacy

A huge thank you needs to go out to my friend (and Chi Omega sorority little) Nikki Lucas, who is such a talented graphic designer and did an incredible job with my new logo. Make sure you check out her design website - nikkilucasdesign.com

A Pop of Turquoise
2.11.2014

Top: c/o Crave Boutique (another similar option) | Jeans: Forever 21
Boots: Land's End | Scarf: Aldo (similar here and here)
Watch: Fossil

Every fall I get so excited for cozy little outfits and a neutral color palette, but by this time of year I'm also so sick of the cold, snow and overall dreariness! That being said, I'm SO ready for spring! Which means more color, and less coats.

I was so excited when Crave Boutique wanted to partner with me. I love the premise behind their store... Cute clothing for real women on real-life budgets! Nothing in their store is over $50, which I absolutely love. I couldn't pass up this adorable spring-y top, which is a much-needed boost of color in my wardrobe, and sooo comfy.

I also got the jewelry below, which was a bit too dainty to show up in my outfit pictures :)

Earrings: c/o Crave Boutique (out of stock...so sad) | Necklace: c/o Crave Boutique
Check out the rest of their cute jewelry here

Now I have great news for you all! Crave Boutique is offering 15% off to all of you through February 26 when you use the code "jacy15" at checkout! Make sure to take advantage and pick up some cute goodies :)

Enjoy!

Over-the-Knee Boots
2.07.2014

Sweater: H&M (love these oversized sweaters here & here + this tan one | Boots: Aldo (old | love this similar pair)
Leggings: Express (the best leggings!) | Bag: Phillip Lim for Target
Watch: Fossil | Bracelets: Forever 21, Lia Sophia, American Eagle

Happy Friday and Happy Weekend! It's such a great feeling, yes?

I bought these boots over 3 years ago back when I worked at Aldo as a summer job, and little did I know that a few years later over-the-knee boots would be having a huge moment. I guess I was ahead of the times ;) These are really really great for dressing up a leggings and oversized tunic/sweater outfit, and this particular outfit will come in handy for the plethora of basketball and volleyball games I'll be attending this weekend :)

Do you have any fun weekend plans?? I think we may start house-hunting a bit this week...eek!

February Remix: Boyfriend Jeans {1}
2.05.2014

Top: H&M (very similar tops here, here & here) | Jeans: Gap (similar here and below)
Jacket: Forever 21 (old, similar here) | Heels: Target (similar here)
Necklace: Forever 21 (similar here and here)

For my February Remix series I wanted to feature an item that's great for the winter-to-spring transition, and I think boyfriend jeans are just that! My pair isn't as relaxed or loose-fitting as a lot of them out there, but I think it's a good middle ground pair that's trendy but not too edgy (I do live in Missouri after all).

For my first look, I styled an outfit that is a bit sophisticated, but still somewhat casual and super wearable. I love this idea for a date night or dinner out with friends because the top and heels are a bit fancier, while the jeans and jacket add some contrast.

Happy Wednesday ladies! We're halfway through the work week :)

Jacy

PS ~ my hair is not actually auburn, so I guess I'll blame that on funky lighting. I did, however, finally color my hair back to dark brown last night so it won't be weird and faded anymore with my awkward blonde roots. This was also my first try at my new curling wand! I did it at 7am and had no idea what I was doing, so despite that I like how it turned out and all the volume it created!
