Casual Christmas Outfit Idea
12.20.2016

Sweater (wearing an XS)  |  Jeans (run big!)  |  Similar Boots  |  Hat  |  Lip color is "Lolita"

Ever since I got this sweater in the mail a few weeks ago, I couldn't wait to shoot it! It's the perfect boho sweater, and I'm obsessed with the oversized bell sleeves. Even though I shot this as more of a boho-styled post, I feel like this outfit works as a casual Christmas outfit idea. If your family does more of a low-key Christmas, then a sweater and jeans are easy and comfy, and if you add a couple of interesting details like a bell sleeve and/or over-the-knee boots, it will take your outfit to the next level.

I hope your Christmas preparations are going well! I'm hanging on for dear life this week. Work is crazy, we have multiple family Christmases this week, and are leaving for Utah on Friday - HELP. Fortunately all of my Christmas shopping is done, so I at least don't have to worry about that :)

One last thing... Don't forget to enter my $250 Minted giveaway in this post!

Over-the-Knee Boots Under $170
10.26.2016

20 over-the-knee boots under $150
Boots (photo is from this post)

Now that we're hitting boot season in full stride (oh puns ;) I thought I would do a roundup post with my favorite over-the-knee finds! I captioned this post with boots under $170, but most of the boots below are actually under $150 or even under $100!

Over-the-knee boots have been huge for a few years now, but there are finallllyyy a lot of amazing options. I remember spending months last year looking for a pair of quality Stuart Weitzman look-a-likes under $150 and there weren't many options, but this year there are! Like tons and tons...and I want so many of them.

Let's talk pros, cons & tips really quick...
-OTK boots will make your legs look miles and miles and miles long and so thin. I always feel like a million bucks in them and so I recommend them to everybody.
-They can be a little intimidating to wear, especially if you don't live in a fashionable big city. If you want a more casual vibe, I would advise this pair I'm wearing above, or a flat/low-heel version!
-If you have thin calves and/or want a more fitted look in general, purchase a stretch suede boot. There are many below! Bonus points if they have a tie in the back.
-If you're more petite, look for boots that hit more at the knee on the model (like these) because those will probably be over-the-knee for you. If you're really tall, look for boots that are more in thigh-high territory and they'll hit you like an over-the-knee.

Tan over-the-knee boots
My find from last year that are still available here & on really sale here!

And now for the boots!

Much to my daily chagrin, I cannot link anything from Zara in these widgets. But, I found some fantastic, super affordable options there that I'll link here: stretch with a heel, flat/low heel with stretch, and this blue velvet pair that I am absolutely, 100% obsessed with.

I purchased this black pair (pictured at the top) during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale and I love how casual and wearable they are + the quality is absolutely amazing. I know they'll last me years and years. However, I still really want a fitted, stretch suede black OTK boot. It's probably completely unnecessary to own two different pairs, but they're....different, right? ;) I'm thinking of saving up for these or these.

Over-the-Knee Boots

Dress: c/o Maude Boutique (see note about length below) | Boots: Steve Madden (also love these)
Lip color: #14

Over the weekend it cooled down jussttt enough to wear my new over-the-knee boots from the NSale for the first time! I'm so obsessed. The chunky heel is so cute and easy to walk in, and I love that the boot shaft has subtle slouch, but is mostly fitted. I've already tried these on with a lot of outfits, so expect to see a lot of these pretties this fall and winter!

Now onto this adorable shift dress! Anyone else feel like a million bucks in a shift dress + tall boots? It's definitely a great combo to slim down the legs. This dress is really soft and comfy, and I think there are a lot of ways to style it. It's definitely a little bit short on me (I'm 5'9"), but if you're a little bit shorter than I am, then you're totally good to go. The good news is that I can style this as a tunic over leggings or with the front tucked up into skinny jeans, or I think it would be so cute unbuttoned and worn over a tank. So many options with this little guy!

I hope you ladies are having a good week so far! I'm struggling a bit as my sister moved across the country on Sunday, and because work is super stressful this week and next. But things will get easier! They always do with time :)

Fall Dress
11.16.2015

Dress: c/o SheIn (under $20! true-to-size, but more gray in person vs. black online)
Boots: Steve Madden (various sizes available here, here & here)
Bag: Zara | Hat: Asos

I LOVE a great fall dress, especially when paired with over-the-knee boots. That pairing is definitely a go-to for me, and I find it to be so flattering and fashion-forward! This one is under $20 and is one of my favorite SheIn finds to-date. I think it would be perfect for Thanksgiving and it also looks adorable with ankle boots or lace-up flats!

I hope you had a great weekend! This was our first post-football-season weekend and we took full advantage by cuddling up at home for most of it. Our pups were sooooo happy to snuggle with their dad all weekend ;)

Sleeveless sweater with OTK boots
Sweater: c/o Asos (absolutely love! so soft & flattering) | Jeans: H&M
Boots: Steve Madden here & here | Bag: Marc by Marc Jacobs
Sunnies: Karen Walker ('deep freeze')

I got to wear so many new goodies together in this outfit, and it's one of my favorites so far this fall! I've been looking for the perfect sleeveless turtleneck sweater and am so happy with this one, especially for the price (on sale for $27). This was the perfect outfit for the sunny but cool weather this weekend, and I simply threw on a leather jacket once it cooled off in the evening.

I also received 2 of 3 Shopbop sale purchases over the weekend, and as you can see, I had to wear my new Karen Walker sunnies and Marc by Marc Jacobs bag right away! Not surprisingly, the quality of both is supreme and I'm really happy I decided to save up for both pieces. I always want to keep the focus on affordable fashion on here, but at the same time I do value investing in key pieces from time-to-time.

Over-the-Knee Boots

Fall outfit with over-the-knee boots
Love, Lenore
Suede over-the-knee boots
Jacket: LOFT (similar) | Tank: Topshop (my favorite tanks!)
Jeans: Topshop (similar here & here) | Boots: Steve Madden (mine are 'tan' and I went down 1/2 size)
Bag: 3.1 Phillip Lim for Target (love this one) | Hat: Forever 21
Necklaces: Kendra Scott and CC Skye

I've been in love with all of the Stuart Weitzman over-the-knee boots for as long as I can remember! They're so ridiculously chic. They would also take me a long, long time to save up for (which I might still do!). When I stumbled across these Steve Madden OTKs a couple of weeks ago I immediately knew they needed to be mine! They're a gorgeous alternative at a really reasonable price tag of $150, and I'm so so happy with them.

As for this outfit, I love this easy pairing of tank + distressed jeans + denim jacket that can be made more casual or more dressy. After I took pictures I swapped out my boots for Converse and headed to our town's Homecoming parade!

Thanksgiving Outfit Ideas
11.24.2014

Today I'm collaborating with the gorgeous and incredibly sweet Adry of Adry on the Daily to share some Thanksgiving outfit ideas! Fortunately, Trey's family gathers around lunchtime and my family does more of a dinner, so we get to spend time with both of our families and really enjoy the whole day :) Both of our families are pretty casual and laid-back, so a sweater, jeans and boots is pretty perfect!

Sweater: Target (sized up to a medium | tons of colors & all on sale!) | Jeans: H&M | Boots: Vince Camuto | Hat: Sole Society (sold out right now | similar, in black) | Bag: H&M (similar here, here) | Necklace: Urban Gems (via Rocksbox | couldn't find online-sorry!) | Watch: Fossil | Bracelets: F21, Lily and Laura | Ring: Gorjana | Lips: Revlon 'Berry Haute'

I just love the soft color of this sweater! It looks like this color is low on sizes online, but there are tons of cute colors (I kind of want another one haha)! I usually choose sweaters that are longer and looser, but I love the sophisticated, high-end look of this one, and it's perfect for work too.
