Boyfriend Jeans
6.02.2016

Distressed boyfriend jeans

Tank: Topshop | Jeans: c/o James Jeans
Heels: Steve Madden | Clutch: Clare V (similar for less)
Choker: Forever 21 | Sunnies: Karen Walker (similar for $20)

You guys know how long I've been looking for a pair of distressed girlfriend or boyfriend cut jeans! I've ordered countless pairs from a variety of retailers and sent them all back. James Jeans was so nice to send these to me, and I actually really love them! The denim is super soft and comfy, and I really like the amount of distressing. They're distressed without having gaping holes! If you get your normal size or even a size down they fit more like a girlfriend jean, which is definitely a bit easier to style. I went with the bigger of my denim sizes (I'm a 26 or 27 depending on the cut and brand), and the waist is big on me, but I like the fit on my legs. So, I think I'll just have the waist taken in a bit! I fight this all the time in denim because I have a small waist and a big booty, and I guess they don't make clothes to fit that??

I have some extra vacation days built up that expire at the end of this month, so I'm going to take the day off tomorrow just for fun - making today my "Friday!" This 3-day work week has been so wonderful!

I've become more and more picky about tank tops because they can be so unflattering, and because my arms aren't quite as toned right now as they have been in the past (I need to get on that!), but this tank is so flattering somehow! I'm so drawn to stripes because they can be worn so many different ways and because they're timeless, so this tank is a total win-win purchase. Also, you all know how particular I am with denim, especially with relaxed fit jeans, but I really like this pair because they're more of a girlfriend fit than a true baggy boyfriend fit. And while I love boyfriend jeans on other people, I haven't found a pair I feel great in yet, so they may not be for me!

We attended a little surprise party for my brother-in-law's 40th birthday last night and it was so fun! My sister-in-law asked a bunch of friends and family to send her videos wishing him a happy birthday. She put them all together into one video that we all watched together and I thought it was such a cute and funny idea! I wore this top that I got in the mail yesterday, and I can't wait to shoot it for the blog because it's sooooo stinkin cute. I love it so much I thought I would share it with you now!

February Wish List
2.09.2016

Lace Top | Lip Pencil ('soar') + Lipstick ('brave') | Choker
Jeans (I really want these) | Flats | Dress (under $30)
Sunnies | Lipsticks ('lumiere 2' & 'midi')

So, it may be a bit obvious that I have spring on my mind! We've had a much milder winter here this year compared to last, so it's giving me way too much hope that spring is just around the corner. This time of year (regardless of the temp) I like to start purchasing a few pieces that will transition my wardrobe to spring. Adding in touches of white, blush and light blue to your other neutrals is my favorite way to do this! Rose quartz and blush shades of pink are going to be huge all spring, and I think they're so gorgeous and chic when paired with black and light denim. I've definitely noticed a theme emerge in what I've been drawn to lately!

At the top of my list is finally finding a great pair of light wash boyfriend/girlfriend jeans! They look amazing with flats and sandals, so I think they'll be that perfect transitional piece. If you've found the perfect pair, please let me know what they are! I'm definitely struggling so far because I have a thin waist and more muscular booty and thighs, but these have great reviews so I may give them a shot. I also want to add in a few fun statement pieces - like this top, this dress, and these heels - to mix in with all of my staples.

What's on your wish list this month??

Waiting for Spring
3.04.2015

Sweater: Forever 21 (similar here, here) | Jeans: GAP (old; similar here, here) | Bag: H&M (similar here, here) | Heels: Prabal Gurung for Target (similar low, middle, higher) | Earrings: BaubleBar (on sale for $15!) | Bracelet: Margaret Elizabeth | Lips: MAC 'Ruby Woo'

Earlier this week I remixed a few favorite staple pieces into a fresh look, which is what I've done again here. I've worn this cowl-neck sweater several times on here this winter, but love finding new ways to wear things. I'm definitely already in the spring transition mindset regardless of it still being hella cold here, so outfits like this will have to do for now.

ICYMI, I shared my March wish list yesterday, as well as the ShopBop sale! Now's the perfect time to splurge on any investment pieces you've been eying since you can get anywhere from 15-25% off!

Remixed Basics
3.02.2015

Top: H&M (similar) | Jeans: GAP (similar here, here) | Heels: H&M (size down 1 whole size) | Bag: H&M | Earrings: BaubleBar | Watch: Fossil | Bracelet: Margaret Elizabeth | Lip color: MAC 'Ruby Woo'

These jeans and this top are pieces I've had for ages, but they're great classics that I love just as much a couple of years later. I love a simple look like this that I can simply remix with a few new accessories, in this case my heels and bag!

I hope your week is off to a great start! I've spent the last few days cooped up with strep throat, so I'm excited to feel like myself again and get back to work and normal life :)

Boyfriend Blazer
10.02.2014

 Blazer: H&M | Tee: Forever 21
Jeans: Gap (similar here and here) | Heels: Target (similar)
Bag: H&M (similar) | Watch: Fossil
Bracelets: Margaret Elizabeth & Lily and Laura | Lips: Revlon 'Berry Haute'

Happy October! I think many of you will agree with me in saying that it's quite possibly my favorite month...except maybe December. I love that the temperatures will start cooling off, that the leaves will start turning colors, and most importantly (haha) that we can all finally wear our cute fall clothes! This blazer has been on major repeat for me already this fall! The cream color and boyfriend cut are so versatile for work and play, and I love how easily it can pull an outfit together.

Kindness is Always Stylish
9.11.2014

Tee: Mindy Mae's Market (size medium | love this one too)
Jeans: Gap (love these! also like: 1, 2, 3)
Bag: H&M in-store (obsessed with this one in both colors)
Earrings: Kendra Scott | Watch: Fossil
Druzy Bracelet: Margaret Elizabeth | Beaded Bracelets: Lily and Laura

When I saw this tee on Mindy Mae's Instagram a couple of months ago I immediately wanted it! I love this little saying and it brings to mind the Audrey Hepburn wisdom "for beautiful lips, speak only words of kindness." I wore this outfit for a day of home shopping last Sunday and I loved that it was comfortable and relaxed but still a fun look.

I hope you've had a wonderful week and the rest goes by quickly so we can get to the weekend :)

Jacy

{If you want this tee but don't want to pay full price, I recommend following her Instagram and watching for a sale on it. She runs flash sales pretty often and I got it for $16!}

Embroidered Lace
7.03.2014

Top: Language Los Angeles c/o | Jeans: Gap (old | similar)
Heels: Target (similar here and here) | Clutch: Francesca's in-store (love this one and this one)

Hello all and happy 4th of July week! I'm so excited for the 3-day weekend.

This is my second post featuring Language Los Angeles (my post from Monday is here). I love the unique lace and embroidery on this top, and the butterfly back adds a fun and feminine vibe! Their relaxed yet pretty boho pieces are too cute! I love this as a date night look, but will totally wear this top tucked into a pencil skirt for work as well.

I hope you have a happy 4th! I'll be back on Friday talking about my favorite sales going on :)

Jacy

PS ~ Don't miss out on Language Los Angeles' great sale going on now!

Love Tee
6.02.2014

Tee: J. Crew Factory (love this one too) | Jeans: Gap (similar)
Flats: Go Jane | Bag: The Limited
Necklace: Etsy (similar) (real J. Crew one here) | Watch: Fossil | Gold bracelets: old F21
Pink bracelet: Lily and Laura (Staxx Boutique buy in Springfield | great online selection here)

I hope your Monday is off to a great start! Last weekend on Memorial Day Trey and I got to go to the outlet mall at Lake of the Ozarks (Missouri girls you know what I'm talking about...it's great), and I did quite a bit of shopping for my new job! I had great intentions of only buying things I could wear to work, but I couldn't resist this little 'Love' tee at J. Crew Factory. Oh, and did I mention everything in the store was 50% off + an additional 10% off?! Yeah, I kind of went to town.

I love dressing up a graphic tee with jewelry (in this case my statement necklace), shoes, and sometimes a blazer! They're so fun to play around with.

Jacy

February Remix: Boyfriend Jeans {3 + recap}
2.28.2014

Top: Target (similar here + more below) | Jeans: Gap (similar here and below)
Heels: Steve Madden (sold out | similar option here) | Clutch: Gap (non-neon version here)
Necklace: Forever 21 | Bracelets: Forever 21 and Lia Sophia

Happy Friday!
After a stressful week of work and wedding planning, and the internet being out at our house, I'm pretty ready for the weekend.

For my third & final boyfriend jeans look this month, I went for simple sophistication! I love this loose peplum top because it's easy to dress up or down, and pretty much goes with everything. The relaxed fit of my top and jeans makes the outfit not overly fancy, which leaves room to add in fun accessories like strappy heels, a statement necklace, and a bright bag.

Here are my 3 looks from this month! Which was your favorite?
