Time is flying by recently and I want it to slow down! The weather has been so beautiful and I love the happiness that surrounds the upcoming holidays, but we've been so freaking busy that October is already vanishing before my eyes.

I don't think I'm at all alone in saying that fall clothes are the bomb.com. There's just so much you can do with styling when you can layer a bit and wear something other than sandals! I've been feeling so much more inspired with fashion and styling lately, and have been having so much fun putting together new outfits.

Beyond fashion/blogging... We are knee-deep in football season in our house. Besides Trey's high school team we are huge Mizzou fans (and proud alumni) and had a blast at their game last weekend. I'm skipping Homecoming this weekend because one of my best friends is visiting (hi Jo!) but I'm so excited to see her and to catch up on a bunch of things around the house. You know how when you have a house guest coming you clean your house like a mad woman and tackle a bunch of projects late the night before? Yeah, that was me last night. I may or may not have still been up past 1am rearranging furniture in our guest room. I keep telling myself that one of these days I'll have a beautiful, organized home and suddenly not be a procrastinating train wreck. But we'll see....

A peaceful beginning to the long weekend...

Happy Labor Day weekend! Long weekends are just so rejuvenating and I've been looking forward to this one for weeks. Tonight we'll be joining all of Trey's brothers (his momma had 5 boys!) and their families to camp and then spend the day on the lake tomorrow. I am definitely not a camper (pray for me!), but I'm really excited for some sunshine and family time!

Instagram Outfit Details / Life Lately 8.14.2015

Exciting news... My new camera arrived last night! I can't even describe how giddy I am about it. That means I'll get to shoot some photos over the weekend and resume outfit posts next week. I have tons of cute outfits I've been saving up, so make sure to come back next week to see the blog return to normal! Weekend before last we got to spend a day at Lake of the Ozarks (about 40 minutes from our house) with a bunch of Trey's family. It was a blast to be out on the lake in the sun all day, and I loved watching Trey wakeboard!

Snuggling with my little Lulu after work earlier this week :) We've had her almost 4 years and she's the best little rescue pup of all time!

Just got these cutoffs and LOVE them! Levi's are a classic for a reason. They's also available here & here (true to size).

Unfortunate Blog Hiatus / When in San Francisco... 6.30.2015

Yesterday was a pretty up-and-down day. We arrived in San Francisco yesterday morning and spent the day exploring the city and just taking it in. We drove and then hiked up to an incredible lookout point (where the above photo was taken), and it was spectacular. It was so high up that the view of the bridge and city, and also hills and ocean on the other side, was pretty mind-blowing (check out my snapchat for some photos and videos - username: jacylenore)! 

Unfortunately in the evening our car was broken into and we had a lot stolen. Fortunately, no one was hurt and the car was unharmed other than a bashed window, but Trey and I lost several thousand dollars of stuff. Including my camera and laptop, lots of clothes and accessories, and other electronics. Why am I sharing this? Because it will probably change things on the blog for awhile, and because I hope the lessons we learned will spare one of you from this situation someday. Here's what we're learning through this situation and what I wanted to share with you... 

• Don't leave anything in your car in a big city, especially with out-of-state plates. We didn't have any items blatantly laying out, but you could see that there were bags in the car by looking in the windows. We're staying outside of the city and didn't want to drive out to the hotel and then drive back in for dinner. We were so tired and distracted that we very stupidly were not thinking about the risk and how much of a target we were. I'm usually an extremely cautious person safety-wise, but in Missouri you can be so trusting and careless of what's in your car. All my girls out there - especially Midwest girls - you can never be too cautious! 
• You have to focus on the positives. No one was hurt, the car wasn't stolen, and many things were not taken. It truly could have been so much worse. A couple of positives... We are going shopping today! Truly out of necessity in this situation, but shopping nonetheless haha. And, hopefully through insurance I will get a new laptop, which I desperately needed anyway. Ultimately, we're on vacation in California, which is pretty great.
• At the end of the day it's just stuff! Yes, I cried. Multiple times. And I feel so shaken up still. But, material possessions are so meaningless in the grand scheme of things. Everything except photos and documents can be replaced. When Trey and I finally got in bed late last night we talked about how thankful we were for our safety and that we have each other to go through hard times with.             

Since I don't have a laptop or camera right now I probably won't be able to post much. This makes me really really sad. Not only do I love working on posts in general, but I've been planning and saving up my new clothes and best outfits to shoot on this trip. Thankfully I still have my phone, so I'll be posting about our trip and tons of outfits on my Instagram if you'd like to follow along there. I'll get some posts up on blog as much as I can with borrowed computers and the best iphone snaps I can get. Hopefully, we'll have a better idea later today of when we'll be reimbursed for technology items.

Thank you for making this blog such a wonderful thing for me. I love blogging and pour my heart into it, but what makes this place especially great is how many wonderful people I've met through here and what a positive place it is. I get to share my love of styling and fashion, and get to create a positive environment for women whom I have found so much in commong with! Just bear with me as blog posts will be a little few and far between for awhile :)

Life Lately / Insta Roundup 6.18.2015

As soon as I discovered these sunnies online last week I ordered them immediately, and I never do that! I knew I would love them since they're oversized, but the unique peach color sold me. They come in 6 colors, and I will definitely be adding more to my collection! 

The peony blooms were absolutely magnificent here this year, and as always, Trey's grandma had the best peonies in town in her garden. I couldn't stop staring at this gorgeous bouquet my mother-in-law and I put together.

A couple of weekends ago, my parents' country club held their annual member/guest golf tournament. Trey couldn't make both days due to his eternally crazy coaching schedule, so he played with my dad the first day, and I played with him the second. It was a blast! This was taken at the big dinner event on the first night. I grew up playing golf and swimming at there, so I absolutely love visiting and it's absolutely beautiful!

Life Lately 3.13.2015

From time to time I like to share some Instagram snaps (find me at @jacyoverstreet) and catch up on what's been going on in my world lately!

 I've been sick A LOT this winter, so I'm happy spring weather has finally arrived and I'm hoping that means all of the nasty viruses go away. The small positives of being sick are staying at home, reading, lots of tea, and comfy PJs...

 I've always been a big fan of BaubleBar but recently started buying more of their jewelry. Their quality is great for the price and I LOVE their high-end and polished, yet edgy look. These earrings have become my absolute favorite statement earrings and I love that they add instant glam to an outfit. Sadly they sold out yesterday afternoon (ugh) but I found a very similar pair that I love just as much.

 These shoes are all I want to wear. Seriously. They're crazy comfy and cute, just order 1 whole size down.

 I made this vegan berry smoothie bowl last weekend and it was AMAZING. It was one of my favorite things I've ever made and I will definitely be making it a lot on weekends.

 And I know Valentine's Day was a month ago, but I just had to share this gorgeous bouquet Trey surprised me with! We never do flowers but this was the sweetest surprise. Well, that and Taylor Swift tickets for September - ahh!!

We had the best Valentine's weekend and it was amazing to go out of town and try some new restaurants (and of course shop).

I couldn't leave out my little babes Russell and Lulu :)
