Valentine's Day Outfit Ideas
1.30.2018

Floral velvet dress
Feminine dress styled with a leather jacket and ankle boots

Trey and I are all over the place when it comes to Valentine's Day. Some years we block off the night to eat takeout and watch a movie, and other years we've gone all out with a fancy date to drinks and sushi. Regardless of what it is, I just love getting the chance to spend some time together! I know VDay is cheesy, but now that we're in the throws of busy adult-life, I do really appreciate that reminder to spend time together and to have a more romantic kind of night.

Regardless of if you're hitting the town or staying in, there are lots of ways to look cute and a bit flirty. If you're more of a casual gal, layer a lace-trim cami under a cardigan or leather jacket, or style a sweater or blouse with a deep-v and some delicate layered necklaces (so chic!). If you love to dress up, lace and ruffles are both feminine touches that I love. I personally like to add a little bit of edge to a feminine skirt or dress, which is why I styled this velvet, floral dress with a leather jacket and ankle boots!

I linked a bunch of amazing pieces below, but there are a handful of pieces I couldn't include in the widget. For outfit options I love this one-shoulder top (the print is to-die-for!), this gorgeous romper (super on sale), and all of these options here.

I was shocked when I woke up this morning and saw so many amazing sales in my inbox already! So today, instead of simply an outfit post, I'm also giving you the info for some of my favorite sales I've seen so far, as well as some picks! I'd like to knock out some Christmas shopping and "me" shopping today to take a little pressure off of Black Friday since we'll be at a football game!

Shopbop Tiered Sale | 20-30% off Your Order with Code MORE17
I of course have to share when Shopbop has a sale a) because it's one of my favorite places to online shop and b) because now would be a great time to combine some goodies for you and for gifts to get a great discount! You can get all of the sale details and exclusions here. Some of my favorite brands to shop at Shopbop are Free People, BB Dakota, and Moon River. They also have an awesome gift shop this time of year!

Urban Outfitters | 20% Off Your Entire Purchase for Rewards Members
I always look to Urban for unique clothing and gifts, and you can get 20% off your entire order today only if you're a rewards member!

Express | 50% off Sitewide + Free Shipping
I don't shop at Express super often, but I do find awesome stuff there sometimes, and their sales are amazing! I've included some picks below, and I'm pretty sure I'm ordering this cozy half-zip because it looks like the sweatshirt of my dreams!

Frasier Sterling | 40% Off VIP Sale (Sitewide) w/ Code BLACKFRIDAYVIP
Frasier Sterling is a new-to-me jewelry brand that my friend Bri introduced me to! I have this choker, and their customized necklaces would be a super cute gift idea too.

H&M | Up to 60% off Winter Wardrobe Pieces Today
You all know that H&M is one of my staple stores (love it both online and in-store), and they have some amazing deals going on all week! Today they have a ton of winter wardrobe pieces for up to 60% off! They also have a lot of great guys and kids stuff if you're shopping for presents, Christmas outfits, or outfits for family photos.

This is one of those outfits that I threw together with stuff I've had for awhile, but I really, really like it! Sometimes I struggle to come up with outfits to blog when I don't have a bunch of new stuff, but there really is something to be said for shopping your own closet and coming up with unique pairings!

Also, how amazing are these peachy-pink walls on a random office building in Columbia?! They're giving me alllll of those pretty millennial pink vibes 👌

Spring T-Shirt Dress

Jacket (35% off!)  |  Dress (c/o | comes in gray)  |  Similar Ankle Boots
Sunglasses ('liar liar')  |  Bag - purchased on Poshmark, but found here & here

I love simple t-shirt dresses for spring because they're so easy to layer! This one from Maude Boutique is so incredibly soft, and I'm in love with the raw hems (which you can see better on their site). I was so cold while shooting these that I forgot to get a picture without my jacket! 😣

I also wanted to quickly share about an awesome sale over at Shopbop (that I'm sure you've heard about by now haha)! Shopbop carries mostly high-end brands, but there are still a lot of reasonably priced brands and items there, and it's one of my favorite places to order from (their free 3-day shipping is the best 🙌). Some brands to check out are Quay, Le Specs (I have 2 pairs from them), BB Dakota, J.O.A. and Levi's!

Sporty Chic
3.02.2016

Sporty Chic
Black faux leather jacket
Athleisure
Casual t-shirt styling
Jacket: ASOS (runs big - go down 1-2 sizes) | Tee: Adidas (wearing size M)
Leggings: Zella (THE best leggings) | Sneakers: Nike
Bag: Rebecca Minkoff (part of the Shopbop sale) | Hat: ASOS (on sale)
Sunnies: Karen Walker (also part of the Shopbop Sale)

While I've always been one to love dressing up (I wear heels to work nearly every day), I can't get enough of the sporty-chic/athleisure trends! I just love being comfy lately...probably because I'm so freaking busy these days. So shout out to Kendall Jenner, Gigi Hadid and their uh-maze stylist Monica Rose for gifting us this beautiful trend!

February Remix: Boyfriend Jeans {1}
2.05.2014

Top: H&M (very similar tops here, here & here) | Jeans: Gap (similar here and below)
Jacket: Forever 21 (old, similar here) | Heels: Target (similar here)
Necklace: Forever 21 (similar here and here)

For my February Remix series I wanted to feature an item that's great for the winter-to-spring transition, and I think boyfriend jeans are just that! My pair isn't as relaxed or loose-fitting as a lot of them out there, but I think it's a good middle ground pair that's trendy but not too edgy (I do live in Missouri after all).

For my first look, I styled an outfit that is a bit sophisticated, but still somewhat casual and super wearable. I love this idea for a date night or dinner out with friends because the top and heels are a bit fancier, while the jeans and jacket add some contrast.

Happy Wednesday ladies! We're halfway through the work week :)

PS ~ my hair is not actually auburn, so I guess I'll blame that on funky lighting. I did, however, finally color my hair back to dark brown last night so it won't be weird and faded anymore with my awkward blonde roots. This was also my first try at my new curling wand! I did it at 7am and had no idea what I was doing, so despite that I like how it turned out and all the volume it created!

statement wedges 4 ways {part 1}.
4.04.2013

Leather jacket: Forever 21 (similar) | Tank: Forever 21 (old)
Jeans: American Eagle | Scarf: Aldo (similar)
Wedges: Target (similar)

I've been wanting to feature these fun wedges for a long time and now that the weather is becoming warmer it's the perfect timing! For my first look I felt it would be fitting to feature a more 'transitional' outfit in moving from winter to spring. I love adding bold pops of color through accessories like my printed scarf and wedges, but this can also be achieved through purses and jewelry! It's one of my favorite 'tricks' for transitional outfits :)

leather luxury.
1.04.2013

Jacket: Banana Republic (similar low-end & high-end options)
Top: Forever 21 (similar) | Jeans: American Eagle
Bag: Aldo (old) | Heels: Target (old)

My parents gave me my very first *real* leather jacket for Christmas, and I've been wearing it every chance I get! It's the perfect neutral color and boxy cut for layering over so many different colors and silhouettes, and the quality is luxurious compared to my budget faux-leather jackets from F21. So, needless to say...awesome gift.

What awesome clothing items did you receive for Christmas??

Jacy
