Casual Stripes
2.09.2015

Sweater: H&M (old; similar here, here, here) | Jeans: H&M | Booties: Elliott Lucca | Bag: H&M (similar here, here) | Sunnies: Amazon (similar here, here) | Watch: Fossil | Bracelet: Loren Hope

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! Mine was kind of mixed but the weather was gorgeous (come on Spring!)... Saturday was really busy and I spent the day shopping, having lunch with a friend, hanging out with my sister and then the rest of my family as well! Then yesterday I had planned to get a bunch of stuff done around the house + workout, but my back went out and I ended up on the couch all day. It ended up being great in the end though because Trey and I took naps in the afternoon and then had a blast eating takeout and watching the Grammys!

Speaking of the Grammys... What did you think?? I thought it was kind of a snooze-fest overall compared to some past years and performances that were more memorable. My favorite performances were Rihanna/Kanya/Paul McCartney, Ed Sheeran, Beyonce (duh), and then Glory at the end with Common and John Legend. My best dressed was Taylor Swift by a landslide, but I also liked Gwen Stefani, Beyonce and Chrissy Teigen. I know the high-fashion world was loving Rihanna and I'm usually all for a high-fashion look, but I just did not like it. I thought it was too much and I couldn't get college loofah costumes out of my head haha. What did you think of her look and who was your favorite look and performance??

Feminine Casual with Aerie
2.03.2015

Top: Aerie c/o | Bralette: Aerie c/o | Beanie: Aerie (also own this one) | Jeans: H&M | Ankle Boots: Elliott Lucca | Gloves: Target (in-store) | Mug: Shop Ban.do | Watch: Fossil

Today I'm so excited to be collaborating with one of my favorite brands, Aerie, as well as making an appearance on their blog! I started shopping at Aerie in college because they had a store in the mall there, but I've continued (increasingly) to shop online from Aerie because I think their sleepwear, loungewear and accessories are so stinkin cute (as well as their intimates & swimwear)! Over the past year I've been slowly replacing my college t-shirts and baggy sweatpants with cute loungewear and Aerie has comprised a big part of that transition (including these jogger pants recently).

Here, I'm wearing two of their new pieces - the low back tee and the softest lace racerback bralette. This tee is so soft and comes in a bunch of pretty colors, and what I love about it is that it took me straight from cooking and getting ready at home on Saturday to out and about for errands and lunch with a quick change into jeans. I already own a few Aerie bralettes, but this one is by far my favorite. I love the feminine lace racerback and different color options, and how it can add that special touch to an outfit while being so comfortable! They're also great for all seasons whether under a tee like this, under an oversized sweater, or under a low-back sundress or tank in the summer.

(Not sure why the two images ended up so funky in the widget!)

Some items in this post were provided by Aerie, but it's a store I regularly shop from and as always, all opinions are my own.

Casual Spots
10.22.2014

Cardigan: H&M (love this one! more here and here) // Jeans: H&M in 'denim blue' (similar) // Tank: J.Crew Factory // Flats: Franco Sarto via TJ Maxx (similar) // Hat: Sole Society // Bag: H&M (similar) // Necklace: boutique find (similar) // Watch: Fossil // Bracelets: Margaret Elizabeth, Lily and Laura // Lips: Revlon Colorburst Balm Stain in 'Crush'

Today I'm wearing a new favorite casual outfit that is definitely becoming one of my go-to's. I'd wanted a leopard cardigan for ages but wanted one that was more subtle, so this one was the perfect solution. Unfortunately it's no longer online but I've linked to some really cute similar ones above and below.

I have to be honest and say that I styled a different outfit around this cardigan that I had planned to post yesterday... It was one of those situations where I came up with the idea a few weeks ago and wrote it down and then didn't have time to actually try it on before packing it up for photos after work (terrible idea)...and let me tell ya...it was disastrous (way too much black)! I hate when an outfit seems awesomely chic and fashion-forward in your head and then ends up making you look like a total weird-o haha. Anywho, I scrapped that post and posted a day late in order to post an outfit I actually love! And hopefully you agree that it was worth it :)

#Sore | Activewear
7.15.2014

Tank: c/o Bloom Studio Market - Etsy | Leggings: Nike (found here and here)
Tennies: Nike Air Max Thea (almost out in this color, but more cute colors available)

Today I'm so excited to share one of my new favorite Etsy shops with you! Bloom Studio Market sells the cutest little workout-inspired tanks with all kinds of clever graphics ("buck furpees," "oh my quad," and "meet me at the barre" to name a few). This shop was started by a dear blogging/social media friend, the lovely Lily Marek (formally of the blog Lily Says Go) and she is one talented lady! I'm obsessed with my #sore tank and have worn it an embarrassing amount of times in the past couple of weeks. Bloom Studio Market is running a great promotion right now too! If you buy 3 tanks you can get a 4th free with the code 'FREETANK'. I used this to buy 3 tanks as gifts for a few fitness-loving friends and then got this tank (special ordered in the light gray above) for myself - score!

The countdown to the wedding has now reached 11 days (*&%$*&^#^!!!). I mean........ But next week should be a fun one on the blog because it will be wedding themed!! I'll be sharing my bachelorette party outfit (coming up this weekend!), engagement photos, bridal showers + more!

Embroidered Lace
7.03.2014

Top: Language Los Angeles c/o | Jeans: Gap (old | similar)
Heels: Target (similar here and here) | Clutch: Francesca's in-store (love this one and this one)

Hello all and happy 4th of July week! I'm so excited for the 3-day weekend.

This is my second post featuring Language Los Angeles (my post from Monday is here). I love the unique lace and embroidery on this top, and the butterfly back adds a fun and feminine vibe! Their relaxed yet pretty boho pieces are too cute! I love this as a date night look, but will totally wear this top tucked into a pencil skirt for work as well.

I hope you have a happy 4th! I'll be back on Friday talking about my favorite sales going on :)

PS ~ Don't miss out on Language Los Angeles' great sale going on now!

Winter-to-Spring
3.17.2014

Top: Piko 1988 (tons of options here including mine) | Jeans: Forever 21 (similar here and here)
Scarf: Aldo (old | similar here and here) | Booties: Steve Madden (old)
Bag: The Limited | Watch: Fossil

Hello! I want to start off with an apology for my accidental 5-day blogging break. I put together most of this post on Friday, but never had the time to finish it, and then there was never a good chance this weekend either. I don't like going this long between posts, but sometimes a complete break from blogging on the weekend can be a good thing, yes? How was your weekend?? Mine was actually really great. Trey came to stay with me while I pet/house-sat for my parents, and we went on a fancy date, played some golf, went shopping, watched his niece's & nephew's basketball games, and got in a bit of downtime. Pretty perfect :)

This is an outfit I wore recently that I realized was a great winter-to-spring transition look. I've worn this top, jeans and booties together all fall and winter, but by simply swapping out some accessories I was able to update my look for spring!

Over-the-Knee Boots
2.07.2014

Sweater: H&M (love these oversized sweaters here & here + this tan one | Boots: Aldo (old | love this similar pair)
Leggings: Express (the best leggings!) | Bag: Phillip Lim for Target
Watch: Fossil | Bracelets: Forever 21, Lia Sophia, American Eagle

Happy Friday and Happy Weekend! It's such a great feeling, yes?

I bought these boots over 3 years ago back when I worked at Aldo as a summer job, and little did I know that a few years later over-the-knee boots would be having a huge moment. I guess I was ahead of the times ;) These are really really great for dressing up a leggings and oversized tunic/sweater outfit, and this particular outfit will come in handy for the plethora of basketball and volleyball games I'll be attending this weekend :)

Do you have any fun weekend plans?? I think we may start house-hunting a bit this week...eek!

Boyfriend Jeans & a Beanie
1.25.2014

Sweater: Target (on clearance!) | Jeans: GAP (similar)
Flats: Target | Beanie: H&M (virtually identical one here)

I've honestly spent my entire life thinking I looked horrendous in beanies, which could partially be attributed both to being a late bloomer and to having short hair much of my life. Horrendous to this day or not, I'm loving this trend this winter! They're both cute and warm - the best of both worlds!

Hope you're all having wonderful, relaxing weekends! I'm working on my blog redesign off and on this weekend, so hopefully I'll be launching sometime this week!! :)

Aztec Sweater
1.14.2014

Sweater: c/o Chicnova | Jeans: H&M (love these)
Booties: Target (this year's version - so cute!) | Hat: H&M (similar)

It's awesome to be getting back into the swing of things with outfit posts now that the weather is a bit better! I was so excited to partner with Chicnova and it was the perfect opportunity to add an oversized aztec cardigan to my wardrobe. I love the print and cozy feeling of it! It was my first time ordering anything from Chicnova, but I was impressed with their affordable prices and quick shipping.

Big news in wedding land... We got our venue and date selected on Monday! After the many hours I spent stressing about venues and going over pricing, that was such a relief. We'll be able to have our ceremony and reception at the same place, and I'll get the outdoor ceremony I've always wanted. Having a set date to look forward to has made this feel so much more real, and I'm so so excited. Next up: dress and invitations {the fun stuff}!

simple can be chic
10.22.2013

 Top: Forever 21 | Jeans: Forever 21
Flats: Target | Bag: Phillip Lim for Target (sold out)
Bracelets: Asos, F21, vintage (great gold layering bracelets here and here) | Lipstick: bareMinerals

Not only can simple be chic, but cheap can be chic too! "Chic" is of course a completely subjective descriptor, and to you this outfit may seem like a complete snooze fest. But I felt quite chic in this look! Of course, I think a bit of leopard adds a touch of chic to any outfit though! And I love wearing gold, so the studded sleeves of this top are a great little bonus. Overall though, this outfit is incredible affordable (the top and jeans are both $11 or less right now). Check out the links above or below for prices! I highly recommend these flats for an unbeatable $20.

Jacy

PS ~ It's officially homecoming week at Mizzou (my alma mater), so I had to break out a bit of black and gold in this casual outfit. Later this week I'll be styling a homecoming look, so I guess I'd might as well call it black + gold week on the blog!
