I've been a huge fan of Articles of Society denim since I discovered the brand last fall (I'm wearing some of my other pairs in posts here & here), but this pair of jeans is by far my favorite so far. I love my AG distressed skinnies that you've seen so much on here because the fit is great and the stretch is really comfortable, but I can honestly say that I like these every bit as much and they're less than 1/3 of the price. The founder of AOS wanted to create a premium quality denim line at an affordable price point and I truly believe that they have. I can't recommend them enough! This pair just debuted at Nordstrom during the anniversary sale and the price point is so good. I think the wash and distressing are perfect for both summer and fall too! These would look so cute with anything from a white off-the-shoulder top to an oversized sweater. 

We got back from Nashville last night and I'm already missing it! We loved it there so much. I can't even begin to tell you how good it was to get away from work and stress for a few days and not worry about checking email. Between both work and blogging, email can become one of my least favorite things ;) We shot this outfit in an adorable area called The Gulch before grabbing brunch at Biscuit Love (so ridiculously tasty)! I'm working on a travel diary post of everything we did and ate, and can't wait to share it all with you!

Boyfriend Jeans 6.02.2016

You guys know how long I've been looking for a pair of distressed girlfriend or boyfriend cut jeans! I've ordered countless pairs from a variety of retailers and sent them all back. James Jeans was so nice to send these to me, and I actually really love them! The denim is super soft and comfy, and I really like the amount of distressing. They're distressed without having gaping holes! If you get your normal size or even a size down they fit more like a girlfriend jean, which is definitely a bit easier to style. I went with the bigger of my denim sizes (I'm a 26 or 27 depending on the cut and brand), and the waist is big on me, but I like the fit on my legs. So, I think I'll just have the waist taken in a bit! I fight this all the time in denim because I have a small waist and a big booty, and I guess they don't make clothes to fit that??

I have some extra vacation days built up that expire at the end of this month, so I'm going to take the day off tomorrow just for fun - making today my "Friday!" This 3-day work week has been so wonderful!

Do you ever have an outfit idea in your mind for ages before you actually own the pieces? That was 100% the case with this look. I've wanted to style it for a couple of months but finally found the right top + distressed jeans. Meaning, you finally don't have to read about my ridiculously long search for distressed denim anymore. **Collective sigh of relief**

This is my first pair of AG jeans and I'm in love. They have some pretty amazing stretch without stretching out (I did need to size down though). This is actually my first pair of high-end denim all-together, and I officially have the bug. If you use the cost-per-wear model, denim is definitely one of the best things to invest in because you'll wear a great pair of jeans hundreds of times, making your cost-per-wear extremely low. Shopbop has such a great selection of denim, including the brands Rag & Bone and J Brand that I really want to try as well. They also happen to have an extra 25% off sale styles today through Thursday (6/23-6/25) with the code '25MORE', so that's a pretty good deal to take advantage of!

I'm such a fan of unexpected pairings, like something classic and dressy paired with something more casual and edgy --> like a blazer with distressed shorts. I like to style this sort of juxtaposition as much as possible, so now I just need somewhere to wear this! ;)

Also, totally unrelated, but... I need a volumizing mascara that doesn't flake off! I love the look of the drugstore mascara I use when I put it on, but by the afternoon I have little black flakes under my eyes. Let me know what works for you! I don't mind jumping up to a nicer brand/higher price point.

Summer Basics 6.08.2015

Remember how I was talking about how much I love tops with detail in my summer trends post last week? This LOFT tee is the perfect example! I love the feminine eyelet details and that they give this top a slightly dressier feel, so I can easily wear it to the office as well. I know I sound like a broken record, but a girl's gotta get her money's worth!

So this weekend my dad and Trey were supposed to play in a member/guest golf tournament at my dad's country club. Trey played with him Friday but ended up having to coach at a basketball tournament all day Saturday, so I filled in for him and played with my dad. I'd only played a handful of times since last summer, so I wasn't exactly great, but I had an absolutely blast playing with my dad and getting some special time with him! :)

Distressed Denim 5.07.2015

If I were to have a uniform, this would pretty much be it. Nearly all-black, distressed denim, hat, and structured bag - check! We've had shorts weather this week and it's been absolutely glorious. I know I've whined before about how much trouble I have finding denim shorts that fit right, but I lucked out and found the pair I'm wearing for just $32 at my local boutique, June and Beyond. They don't have an online store yet, but their Instagram shows off all of their adorable clothes (you may or may not find me on there ;)), and you can order off of it by email through PayPal! If you're interested in these shorts they are true to size (the small fits like a size 2-4) and have a little extra room in the leg, which I love.
