Because the color burgundy/ox blood/wine is just about everywhere right now, what better top to feature 4 ways this month? No matter what you want to call it (personally, the name "ox blood" freaks me out a bit), there's no denying that this color family is one of fall's biggest trends! I've found a lot of inspiration for styling all variations of this color on Pinterest (cataloged here) and other blogs, which makes me wish for a bigger clothing budget just about every day (okay, maybe every single day)! For now though, I'm forced to be content with my favorite burgundy nail polish and finding different ways to style this blouse. Sigh.

tuesday twist: 3 ways to style a black romper {part 2}. 8.14.2012

 Romper: Audrey 3+1. Blazer: Forever 21 (cute ones here and here). Wedges: Target (here). Bangle and ring: vintage. Watch: Fossil (here). Nail polish: "Rumples Wiggin'" by OPI. 

This week for Tuesday Twist I've styled my black romper with a pretty blazer, dressy jewelry, and wedges. When I purchased this pale pink blazer, I had no idea how much wear I would get out of it! It's proven to be the perfect piece to throw on over anything from a t-shirt to a nice dress.

In this particular look, my blazer has taken a plain black garment (it could be a dress, romper, skirt, or top) and added color, interest, and texture. Normally I would never wear a romper or jumpsuit to the office, but with the addition of this little number, this has been one of my favorite outfits to wear to my internship this summer!

tuesday twist: 3 ways to style a black romper {part 1}. 8.07.2012

Romper: Audrey 3+1 from Britches Boutique in Columbia, Mo. Wedges: Ann Marino (from Asos, but found them here). Clutch: Aldo (old). Earrings: Francesca's Collections (this pair isn't online, but I bought them in-store recently!) Bracelet: a souvenir piece from Turkey. Watch: Fossil. Nail color: Turquoise and Caicos by Essie (here). 

This month for Tuesday Twist, I'm featuring this little black romper with a bow that I bought a few years ago and have since styled several different ways. This little knit piece is nice for hot days because it can easily transition from day to night. In the daytime, I often just throw on flat sandals and whatever purse I'm carrying, but if I want to look a little dressier, I'll style it like this!

I'm so excited to show you the other two ways I've styled this romper this month! I loved putting a twist on a seemingly one-way kind of piece.

tuesday twist: 4 ways to wear a fancy skirt {part 1}. 7.03.2012

Tulle skirt: Target (old). Top: Blue Rain from Francesca's (borrowed from my sister). Cross-body clutch and sandals: Aldo Shoes last summer (love this pair of sandals on sale here!). Rose ring: Forever 21. Braided suede bracelets: H&M. Earrings: a gift from my mom :)

For this month's Tuesday Twist I chose this pale pink tulle skirt. When I scored this skirt from the sale rack at Target a few years ago (I couldn't turn down something ballet-inspired after all of my dancing years!) I didn't expect it to be a versatile piece of clothing and for awhile I simply styled it with a nice black tank top and sandals or occasionally heels. 

However, with a little creativity (and boredom perhaps) I've figured out many different ways to style this skirt, and hopefully the four ways I'm demonstrating this month will give you some ideas to use with your own wardrobe! This is a summery way to style this skirt with the white and pastel shades, an airy embellished tank, and a casual bag and sandals.
