Swing Dress
4.27.2015

Dress: Old Navy (25% off today w/ code 'secret'! | roomy fit-wearing size S) | Sandals: Steve Madden via Nordstrom | Hat: Sole Society | Bag: old Kenneth Cole (want this bag) | Chambray Shirt: old F21 (similar) | Bracelet: Loren Hope | Nails: China Glaze 'Dance Baby' | Lips: MAC 'Lickable'

I've had this super comfy cotton swing dress from Old Navy (who has 25% off site-wide today with code 'SECRET') for a few weeks now, but wanted to wait and style it with my new black sandals! I searched high and low last summer before our honeymoon for a pair of simple, ankle-strap black sandals and there just weren't any in my price range. So when I found these a couple of months ago I knew I had to buy them this spring! They're exactly what I wanted and so comfy, and look really cute with shorts and jeans too. Now I want the coral as well!

I hope you had a great weekend! I caught up on cleaning and TV shows, did a few workouts (so I'm sore today), and we started planning our next home renovation project (hopefully the master bath), so it was a great couple of days off. Hopefully this Monday goes by just as quickly! ;)

Not-So-Perfect
4.21.2015

Tank: J.Crew Factory (on sale for under $25!) | Shorts: June & Beyond Boutique (similar here, here, here + more options below) | Cardigan: ASOS (also in blush pink) | Hat: Sole Society | Heels: Target (new version; similar) | Clutch: Francesca's (similar here, here, here all 20% off!) | Necklace: Kate Spade (25% off!) | Bracelet: c/o From Dylan | Watch: Fossil

My first thought when editing these photos was, "Dear Lord I have a stupid hair tie on my wrist." The perfectionist in me hates little oversights like this, but the truth is when you work all day, then run home to walk and feed your dogs, then drive an hour, change in your car to take pictures, take the pictures by yourself with a tripod, change back to your other clothes in your car, and then meet a friend for dinner, life is far from glamorous and perfect. Real life looks a lot more like being very thankful you slapped some self-tanner on your legs the night before and wearing a hat because your roots are atrocious and your hair is a tangled mess from the wind. I'm the first to admit that I can get caught up in the "perfection" of the blogging/Instagram world. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE pretty photos and chic outfits regardless...it's my brand of art and a daily inspiration for me. And yes, there really are some girls shooting blog photos in Paris, and living in amazing minimalist lofts with multiple Chloe bags. But the thing to remember is that none of us are perfect or even have to try to be. It's not wrong to love the pretty photos and amazing fashion, but it's also key to remember that life isn't that gorgeous 100% of the time for anybody. Do I find myself Instagram-stalking my favorite bloggers and lamenting the fact that I can't buy everything in my Nordstrom online shopping cart? I would be lying if I said no. But sometimes I have to bring myself back down to earth and remember how blessed I am to even have a monthly shopping budget, and to get to share something I love with you, even if the behind-the-scenes isn't all that glamorous.

Simple Stripes
4.14.2015

Sweater: Asos | Tank: J.Crew Factory (old; solid version here + love this stripe cami) | Jeans: H&M (similar) | Shoes: H&M (go down 1 whole size) | Hat: Sole Society | Bag: H&M (old; similar here, here) | Watch: Fossil | Bracelet: Margaret Elizabeth | Lip Color: MAC 'Ruby Woo' lipstick + liner

While in my head I'm totally in sundress and midi skirt mode, we are definitely still getting some dreary, chilly days here (especially with all of the rain) so I'm relying on light layers like this lovely duster cardigan. This is a [super] dramatic thing to say, but this is seriously the cardigan of my dreams. Not stuffy or itchy (I have an issue with a lot of sweaters), and such a cool length. Also, they just added it to their site in blush pink, so I'm obviously loving that a lot as well.

Another recent obsession is this black straw hat. It's a serious bargain at $30 and was my favorite outfit feature at the Masters last week because it protected my face from the sun (I'm all about skin protection as of this year) but also hid my hair from the sudden rainstorm. Win win.

Casual Weekend Chic
4.02.2015

Today I'm so excited to be a guest co-host for the Spotlight Weekly Link-up with my friends Elle of Living in Color Style and Jacqueline of Stylin' in St. Louis to show off "Casual Weekend Chic" outfit ideas!

Top: c/o Pleione (wearing size XS) | Jeans: H&M (similar) | Sandals: Steve Madden (on sale) | Hat: Sole Society (LOVE and highly recommend for the price) | Bag: H&M | Earrings: Kendra Scott c/o June & Beyond | Bracelet: Rocksbox (use code 'lovelenorexoxo' for a free month) | Lipstick: BareMinerals 'Fly High'

With the recent spring weather all I want to wear are hats, sandals, and breezy tops! This wide brim black straw hat is 100% my new favorite hat. Oh, and it's only $30, so you need it immediately!

I recently discovered the brand Pleione, which is sold at Nordstrom and Nordstrom Rack, and this top has become one of my absolute favorites! I just got it last week along with two more of their tops (here and here) and am blown away by how amazing the quality is for the price. I also love that their tops run on the longer side, which I've always found to be really flattering (hooray for a "bubble butt" and ex-dancer thighs). They have several tops marked down to 40% off right now at Nordstrom, so definitely take a look!

Leather & Leopard
1.26.2015

Jacket: Forever 21 (old & desperately need a new one; similar) | Chambray shirt: F21 (similar) | Scarf: Sole Society (currently sold out; love this one) | Hat: Sole Society (sold out; nearly identical) | Jeans: H&M | Ankle Boots: Target (sold out; similar here, here | Leopard Bangle: The Limited (50% off) | Lip color: NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in 'Damned'

I hope you had a great weekend! We were hardly home last week so I enjoyed a pretty lazy weekend at home and spent most of the rainy day yesterday buried in Gone Girl (I'm already 60-70% through it!). This was what I wore for Casual Friday last week, and I love that my booties, hat, jacket and scarf styling add a bit of edge to my chambray shirt + skinny jeans that I've worn 100+ times.

Weekend Cozy Casual
12.21.2014

Cardigan: Forever 21 (still available in gray | very similar - both under $20 right now!) | Tee: Piko 1988 (15% off here w/ code 'happyholidays') | Jeans: Forever 21 (similar | nicer version for 50% off) | Hat: Sole Society (in black | similar in gray) | Booties: Forever 21 (love these new ones even more) (both are 30% off today!) | Watch: Fossil | Mrs. Necklace: Kate Spade

I'm back!! I've pretty much been out of commission for the past week and a half due to the flu and another virus (back to back...so rough), and there is no way in the world anyone would have wanted to see my face during that debacle. Anyways, I'm finally healthy minus coughing and some leftover exhaustion, but I was so excited to get out of the house for some errands and outfit pics yesterday.

I wore this comfy & warm look out for a casual date with Trey Friday night and then wore this cardigan again yesterday because it was so cozy (and burgundy is my favorite color at the moment)!

Cognac Booties
12.03.2014

Top: J.Crew Factory (on sale!) | Jeans: Forever 21 (similar, better version here) | Booties: Elliott Lucca at Nordstrom, Lord & Taylor | Hat: Sole Society (similar | same hat in black) | Bag: H&M (similar here, here) | Watch: Fossil at Macy's / on sale here | Bracelets: Margaret Elizabeth, Lily and Laura | Lips: L'Oreal 'Raisin Rapture' | Nails: Essie 'Power Clutch'

I have been hunting for the perfect pair of cognac leather booties since late August, and I finally found them! I'm so so happy with this pair... The color is exactly what I wanted (light enough to easily wear with dark denim and black), the leather is really soft and looks great, and the heel height is perfect (high, but totally wearable). I've had so many outfits in mind to wear with cognac booties, and I love that they're technically a neutral, but honestly add a little bit of color and dimension to an outfit.

The tunic blouse I'm wearing happens to be on sale today, and I've found it's so great for both work and casual outfits (and layering)!
