January Remix: Graphic Sweater {3 + recap}
1.30.2014

Sweater: Forever 21 (similar here, here and here) | Pants: Target (they are amazing, promise! | or J. Crew Factory version here)
Chambray shirt: Forever 21 (similar) | Heels: Prabal Gurung for Target (similar)
Necklace: Forever 21 (back in stock!) | Watch: Fossil | Bracelet: Forever 21

As I feel every month around this time, where did the past 30 days go?? It's already time for me to wrap up another remix series and this month I styled this graphic sweater 3 different ways.

As you may have noticed, I very rarely do any layering. I've just never felt confident in doing it or had many of the right pieces. Plus, I'm not convinced it's very comfortable, honestly! But today, I made an exception and did a little layering with my ever-versatile chambray shirt.

Here are all 3 looks. Which one was your favorite??

In February I'm planning to remix my little distressed boyfriend jeans 3 ways, so watch for that to start next week!

Winter Photo Diary
1.29.2014

I realized I never did an Instagram/photo diary post in December, so this is sort of a December/January/Winter photo diary! Sadly, it was a struggle to narrow the post down to a whopping 15 photos, as I've turned into an Instagram post-a-holic over the past several months. I did cut out the Christmas-y photos though... I figured that over a month later we're all kind of past that :)

To see all the photos I couldn't post, and the hundreds I'm sure I'll post in the future, follow along at @jacylenore!

Happy Hump Day!

Trend to Try: Tortoise Jewels
1.28.2014

Clockwise starting under text: BaubleBar Deco Strand Necklace

My favorite jewelry trend to emerge this fall and winter is tortoise jewels! They're both chic and unexpected, and are a great neutral to pair with pretty much everything.

Shopping tip: Watch sites like Groopdealz and Forever 21 for extra affordable options that will pop up! I scored the crystal + tortoise earrings above from Groopdealz for a mind-blowing $8!

Boyfriend Jeans & a Beanie
1.25.2014

Sweater: Target (on clearance!) | Jeans: GAP (similar)
Flats: Target | Beanie: H&M (virtually identical one here)

I've honestly spent my entire life thinking I looked horrendous in beanies, which could partially be attributed both to being a late bloomer and to having short hair much of my life. Horrendous to this day or not, I'm loving this trend this winter! They're both cute and warm - the best of both worlds!

Hope you're all having wonderful, relaxing weekends! I'm working on my blog redesign off and on this weekend, so hopefully I'll be launching sometime this week!! :)

Black & Tan Basics
1.22.2014

Top: Tobi (similar here and here) | Jeans: Forever 21
Heels: Prabal Gurung for Target (similar) | Bag: Tobi (sold out)
Necklace: J. Crew Factory

I love having a few simple blouses on rotation to dress up jeans with. Add a pair of classic heels and you've got a bit of simple chic! This is a perfect example of an outfit that doesn't take a lot of thought and planning, but looks a step above a basic outfit.

Happy Hump Day! I swear yesterday felt like a Wednesday...what a long week it has been!

January Wish List: Home Edition
1.20.2014

Silver bowl: Target | Clear/Chrome Chair: IKEA | Blue Throw: H&M
Mosaic Vase: Pier 1 | His and Her Pillows: Etsy
Crystal Lamp: Pier 1 | Purple Vase: Target | Gray Accent Chair: Target

With the wedding coming up in just 6 months, I've got house-hunting and decor on my mind! I'm so antsy to start buying furniture, but I'm making myself wait until we have a little bit better idea of where we'll be living (the nightmare of a couch too big for the living room comes to mind). I have, however, been pinning away (here's my decor board if you're interested) and building up shopping carts on many online sites.

If you can't tell, I'm obsessed with gray. I've always wanted a gray couch with sleek lines, and I think gray walls are so calming too. My goal in our future decor is to be modern and chic, but still comfortable...and to have a decent feminine/masculine balance. Wherever we may end up, I plan to have lots of gray, black and white, with soft blue and purple accents. I love the idea of a dramatic navy accent wall here and there too! These are just my early musings, but I'll keep ya updated as I know (and buy) more :)

January Remix: Graphic Sweater {2}
1.17.2014

Sweater: Forever 21 (similar here, here, and here) | Skirt: Forever 21 (similar)
Heels: Prabal Gurung for Target (similar) | Clutch: Gap (love this one)
Gold bracelets: Forever 21 (one here)

Here is my second look styling this fun little graphic sweater! {Check out the first look here} This winter I've been loving the whole sweater + skirt thing. It's so unexpected but so cute for a night out! Just add some jewels, a fun clutch and some lipstick and you're golden! A little going out look that feels laid back but glam too.

I don't know about you, but I'm having a major TGIF moment today! This week was crazy at work and I'm so ready for a relaxing, stress-free weekend. Happy weekend!

Aztec Sweater
1.14.2014

Sweater: c/o Chicnova | Jeans: H&M (love these)
Booties: Target (this year's version - so cute!) | Hat: H&M (similar)

It's awesome to be getting back into the swing of things with outfit posts now that the weather is a bit better! I was so excited to partner with Chicnova and it was the perfect opportunity to add an oversized aztec cardigan to my wardrobe. I love the print and cozy feeling of it! It was my first time ordering anything from Chicnova, but I was impressed with their affordable prices and quick shipping.

Big news in wedding land... We got our venue and date selected on Monday! After the many hours I spent stressing about venues and going over pricing, that was such a relief. We'll be able to have our ceremony and reception at the same place, and I'll get the outdoor ceremony I've always wanted. Having a set date to look forward to has made this feel so much more real, and I'm so so excited. Next up: dress and invitations {the fun stuff}!

Cozy Little Sweater Dress
1.12.2014

Dress: H&M | Booties: DV by Dolce Vita (found here)
Bag: Phillip Lim for Target | Tights: Express
Necklace: Forever 21 (similar here and here) | Watch: Fossil

I'm finally getting a new outfit post up! I'm so sorry it's been so long... I'm hoping this doesn't become a trend, but it might. I'm a little overwhelmed with everything going on right now, so I'm trying to figure out how to balance it all still. But you know, everything seems impossible until it's done! So I have faith that I will somehow balance it all and get everything done :)

I wore this outfit for Christmas Eve, but I've also enjoyed wearing this for work! It's nice to mix up the pants-everyday thing.

I hope you've all had a great weekend so far! I'm off to a wedding expo and then to tour a couple more venues, so it should be a busy but fun day!

2014 Resolutions & Goals
1.09.2014

I may be a little late with this post, but I wanted to give it some thought. I've never been very into New Years Revolutions because they feel sort of gimmicky to me. But goals...I love. I guess they're really not all that different technically, but goals can be short or long term, and don't have a renewal date of January 1st. I have to set goals to stay on track and to stay motivated. They propel me and make me a better person! I know I don't usually write much on here beyond style matters, but this year I'd like to dig a little deeper from time to time.

1.
Be more active.
I joined a gym last summer after graduating from college and have so enjoyed the workout classes there. I find that they push me so much more than I can push myself in my own workouts! I'm pretty good about going to at least 2 classes per week, but outside of the gym I haven't been good about being active the last couple of months. In the process of adopting a healthier lifestyle my goal is to be more active in general...even if that means walking outside or on a treadmill for 20-30 minutes or doing a Nike Training app workout at home. Something is so much better than nothing!

2.
Eat cleaner.
I'm usually good about what I eat during the week. I eat a small healthy breakfast and mid-morning snack every day, and pack a lunch for work most days. This helps me control my portions and plan out what I'm going to eat for the day! However, on weekends I tend to lose sight of this goal. It's hard right now because Trey and I don't have our own place to cook in and keep food in, so we end up eating out a lot on the weekends. This makes me "splurge," which is fine, except that I've been splurging a little too much the last few months. It's time for me to make healthier choices when I eat out!

3.
Improve my time management.
I've got a lot on my plate right now... In addition to working full time in a new career, I'm also planning a wedding in 6-7 months, continuing my education online, oh...and running a blog. It's a lot to tackle and I feel like I have an endless and nearly impossible to-do list for the foreseeable future. Time management is going to be essential for me these next 6-8 months! And lots of to-do lists, encouragement, and deep breathing. Ahh.

4.
Have a positive attitude...through thick and thin.
I used to be a very negative person, and I will openly admit this. It feels good to get it off my chest. However, I've gained so much perspective in the past couple of years and I feel like this has genuinely changed my life. While I can still be a brat and complain about insignificant things, or assume certain things won't go well, I've made big progress. One of my short and long-term goals to be a more positive person. To realize how blessed I am, that the insignificant problems of a bad day pale in comparison to battles others face on a daily basis, and that a positive outlook can change not only my day but others' days too.

5.
Be kind to others.
Graduating from college last year and entering adulthood and the career world has taught me a lot. One thing I've learned is that a lot of people are not kind. While I can't necessarily change those people, I can use them as fuel to be the best person I can be! Smiling, complimenting people, helping someone out, giving gifts, random acts of kindness and paying it forward...and so much more. Ultimately, I want to be a kind and loving person! A role model to girls younger than me, a good friend, and loving wife. Let's all be kind, yes?

6.
Save money.
As some of you know, I've been living back at home with my parents since May. While I do pay them rent, I'm still saving lots of money on living expenses this year. I've been taking advantage of this by putting a set amount of money in savings from each paycheck. It's hard to do, but I've already watched it pay off so much since last July! With the wedding coming up this July and big-kid things approaching like getting a place together, I'm feeling even more motivated to save. I'm planning to up my set savings amount each month, and to also put away every extra dollar I have. I know it will pay off so so much!

7.
Blogging goals.
I guess since I'm a blogger and all, and that's why you're here, that I should share a few blogging goals! Goal A is to do a blog makeover. I've been working with a fabulous, talented graphic designer friend to revamp this space, and can't wait to get it all rolled in. Teaser alert: my blog name and URL will be changing too, which is much needed! Goal B is further identify my personal sense of style. I feel like my style has already changed a lot since I started my blog 2 years ago, and in that time I've developed a much stronger style identity. Goal C is to connect a little more. To let you all into my life more, and to get to know all of you more! Goal D is to continue to show that having a lot of money and living in the fashion capital of the world are not essentials to having personal style that you love! I've really enjoyed my remix series because it pushes me to wear what I already own in multiple ways, and to be content with what I have. And hopefully I will continue to demonstrate all of this.

I've been blogging for two years now, and still absolutely love it. I know 2014 will be wonderful!

Jacy

Fashionable Fitspiration
1.07.2014

I'm definitely a proponent of staying fit year-round, not just the duration of my New Years resolutions. However, I completely fell off the gym train during the past few holiday weeks and need to get my butt back in gear! Plus, with a wedding coming up in 6 months (OMG!), and engagement photos coming up in the next 2ish months, I am now feeling incredibly motivated to get in my workouts and to eat more healthily.

I've found that when I like what I'm wearing to workout in, that I'm so much more motivated and feel so much better about myself! Then, I'm worry-free and simply focus on my workout, rather feeling sloppy. I really could care less what other people think I look like at the gym, but wearing cute workout gear is a huge self-motivator for me.

Happy Workouts Ladies!
xo,
Jacy

PS ~ Target, Forever 21, and Old Navy are probably my favorite places to buy workout attire (besides my ultimate favorite-Nike). They're all super affordable and change out their selection frequently. F21 makes great, lightweight tanks, and Target's sports bras are the bomb.com.

January Remix: Graphic Sweater {1}
1.05.2014

Sweater: Forever 21 (similar here, here, here, here and here) | Jeans: Rodi Boutique (on sale!)
Booties: Target | Purse: Phillip Lim for Target
Watch: Fossil | Bangle: Forever 21

Hello gals!
I'm back with a new remix series for a new year! I ended up not doing one last month because things were so hectic with the holidays, but January feels like a great time to start fresh! I've been loving the graphic sweater trend this year, and neutral one like this is great to wear a bunch of different ways. These olive jeans have been one of my favorite purchases of this fall/winter season, and they pair so well with a cozy sweater.

In other news...it's freaking cold out!! And snowy. I'm not sure how I'll be able to get to work tomorrow...stressed about that! Stay safe and warm everyone. xoxo.

Holiday Season Attire
1.01.2014

 Top: Forever 21 (similar) | Skirt: Francesca's
Booties: DV by Dolce Vita | Tights: Express (the best tights...honestly!)
Necklace: Forever 21 (similar here and here) | Bow bangle: Forever 21

I completely meant to post this outfit sometime between Christmas and New Years...but a lot of family time and relaxation took place instead. So, this is a bit late considering that it's now New Years Day, but I'm still loving this outfit! It was my favorite holiday part look from the last couple of weeks. Lately, I've been so into wearing dresses and skirts over tights with boots and booties! It was definitely my go-to for many holiday gatherings.

I hope you had a fun and safe NYE! Thank you all for following along in 2013 - it truly means the world to me. I'm so excited for 2014! It's going to be such a fantastic {and busy} year.

Jacy
