Booties: Target | Watch: Fossil

Today I just wanted to show a casual look since my last post and upcoming post are both a little dressier! A plaid button-down is always such an easy thing to throw on, and I like layering them over other shirts as well. I just received these great suede wedge booties in the mail from Target today and they might already be my most comfortable shoes! I love that this style is super trendy right now, and these had a great price tag (link above if you're interested).

Happy weekend!

Blouse: Forever 21 (similar here) | Skirt: Target | Booties: Target

I've always loved burgundy and leopard together because of the classic, luxurious feel, and I also love how leopard is having such a moment right now! Obviously I'm loving the burgundy/ox blood trend this fall, but I'm equally loving the leopard trend. It's so nice that there are so many classy pieces being made in leopard-prints these days because I shudder at the memories of 90's and early 2000's cheetah prints (can I get an amen?!).

I always love scoring little gems at Target, and this skirt is definitely no exception! Have any of you heard of the new(ish) Instagram account called @TargetDoesItAgain?? It's my new favorite! It's run by two super-fashionable women who scout out all of the great finds at their local Target.
It. Is. Amazing.

Top: Tobi | Jeans: American Eagle
Booties: Steve Madden (similar) | Gold rings: Gorjana & Griffin
Necklace: Francesca's Collections (love this one & this one)

I love the instant glamour this top adds to any outfit from the gold sparkly sleeves! You can actually get it for 40% off at Tobi (link above) through Monday, and the sale is store-wide, so make sure to check it out :)

One of my favorite parts of being home on a break is getting to spend time with my friend Haley. She was sweet enough to snap some outfit pics for me after we grabbed coffee today, and it was so good to get together! I hope all of you enjoyed a wonderful Thanksgiving and also found some great shopping deals afterward!

Blouse: Forever 21 (similar here) | Skirt: H&M (old)
Booties: Aldo (love this pair and this pair) | Tortoise cuff: J. Crew (similar here)

This week I paired my burgundy blouse with a skirt I typically only wear in the summer, but when I saw it hanging in my closet I thought the colors would work just fine for fall too. I'm typically not a fan of paisley, but this skirt was a great deal at H&M a couple of years ago, and goes with So many tops and shoes! I enjoyed mixing a deep color with a "ditzy" print, because I feel that it grounds it and also makes it feel just fine for fall.

I apologize for somewhat neglecting the blog world (both mine & yours!) for the past couple of weeks...school has been crazy as I'm nearing the end of the semester, but now that I'm on a little break for Thanksgiving I'm hoping to get things back into order!

fall snapshots + giveaway winner!
11.17.2012

My Thanksgiving Break started today and that is something I'm extremely thankful for because it means I get 9 days off from classes and that I get to go home and visit family for a week! This break is coming at a much-needed moment, because life has been hectic lately with balancing a full schedule of upper-level journalism classes and my internship (and also trying to squeeze in some blog posts!). During break I'm hoping to read, catch up on blog networking, and create some new blog content!

1.
I finally read "The Great Gatsby" by F. Scott Fitzgerald, and now I know why it's loved by so many people!
2.
A little peek at one of my favorite fall outfits.
3.
My favorite photo of Lulu to-date...it makes me smile every time! She turned 3 last week, and it's also been a year since Trey and I adopted her :)
4.
Trey & I out and about one night. My top is from Tobi.com.
5.
Sporting some trendy suede booties! These are Steve Madden that I got at DSW.com.
6.
My favorite neutral polish: "Stormy" by Revlon.
7.

Top: Forever 21 (similar finds here and here) | Faux-fur vest: thrifted by my roommate (similar here)
Jeans: American Eagle | Suede booties: Steve Madden (similar here and here)

I can't believe that my roommate Ashley thrifted this amazing faux-fur vest for a mere $4! How fabulous is it?? I just had to borrow it because I loved the luxe feel when paired with burgundy (and sadly, I do not own a faux-fur vest of my own yet). Although I styled this blouse with denim last week, I felt like this outfit had a different feel and that it's a really versatile ensemble featuring some of my favorite trends this fall!

Don't forget to enter my giveaway with Swank Boutique for a Gorjana & Griffin initial stackable ring! Entering is a piece of cake, so make sure to take part by Friday!

Blouse: Forever 21 (similar finds here and here) | Jeans: Asos
Heels: Target (similar here) | Bracelet: Charming Charlie (old)

Because the color burgundy/ox blood/wine is just about everywhere right now, what better top to feature 4 ways this month? No matter what you want to call it (personally, the name "ox blood" freaks me out a bit), there's no denying that this color family is one of fall's biggest trends! I've found a lot of inspiration for styling all variations of this color on Pinterest (cataloged here) and other blogs, which makes me wish for a bigger clothing budget just about every day (okay, maybe every single day)! For now though, I'm forced to be content with my favorite burgundy nail polish and finding different ways to style this blouse. Sigh.

I have the cutest giveaway coming your way this weekend so make sure to watch out for it on Facebook and Bloglovin!

fall neutrals.
11.03.2012

Top: Forever 21 (old) | Jeans: American Eagle (here)
Bag: Aldo Shoes (old) | Bangles & earrings: Aldo & Forever 21 | Nails: "Smokin' Hot" by Essie
Suede booties: Steve Madden (sold out, but love this alternativethis pair with some sparkle, and... my dream pair)

If you've followed my blog for awhile now, you're probably aware of how much I love neutrals and earth tones! So naturally, I love fall because it just feels natural to wear these colors. One of my very favorite trends this season is suede booties (very Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, yes?). I just can't get enough of these Steve Madden suede booties I splurged a little bit on, and they're the perfect neutral shoe to anchor just about any outfit! They're great to wear with cuffed skinny jeans like I did here, but I also can't wait to wear them with skirts and dresses in the spring, or at least on warmer days.

I'm so excited to be featured on the blog Classy Pam in her "My Fav Blogger" series! I got to choose a few of my favorite outfits to showcase and also got to do a short interview about my personal style! Check out the post here.

Jacy
