100th post!
2.03.2013

I've finally reached my 100th post! While I'm not actually having a party about it, I did want to post this little party look I put together. I'm sure you recognize this burgundy top from when I featured it back in November, but I love it so much that I just had to style it one more time before spring color palettes completely take over.

I just wanted to take a little time today to reflect on the many great things I've experienced since starting my blog...

1.
I've found so much inspiration from constantly finding new fantastic bloggers (like yourselves), and it's inspired me to continually evolve my own style. Blogging has also pushed me to be more creative with how I style pieces in my closet... Reading so many blogs (especially some of the bigger ones) can cause you to fall into the trap of constantly wanting more...and while having a fairly extensive closet and adding in trendy items is somewhat important, blogging has opened my eyes to being thankful for what I have while also creatively remixing pieces I already own!

2.
I've really enjoyed getting to 'meet' so many bloggers from not only the US, but all over the world. The blogging community is truly fantastic and I love being a part of it! I've made some fantastic blogger buddies and it's so so fun to watch your blogs grow!

Fun news:
In the next couple of months I'll be working on a blog makeover {design + name...yes name!} and I can't wait for the finished product! In the meantime, I plan to post a little more often starting this month, and I'm hoping that once I graduate from college in May that I'll be able to dedicate even more time to the blog and to all of you!

Blouse: Forever 21 (similar here) | Skirt: Target | Booties: Target

I've always loved burgundy and leopard together because of the classic, luxurious feel, and I also love how leopard is having such a moment right now! Obviously I'm loving the burgundy/ox blood trend this fall, but I'm equally loving the leopard trend. It's so nice that there are so many classy pieces being made in leopard-prints these days because I shudder at the memories of 90's and early 2000's cheetah prints (can I get an amen?!).

I always love scoring little gems at Target, and this skirt is definitely no exception! Have any of you heard of the new(ish) Instagram account called @TargetDoesItAgain?? It's my new favorite! It's run by two super-fashionable women who scout out all of the great finds at their local Target.
It. Is. Amazing.

Blouse: Forever 21 (similar here) | Skirt: H&M (old)
Booties: Aldo (love this pair and this pair) | Tortoise cuff: J. Crew (similar here)

This week I paired my burgundy blouse with a skirt I typically only wear in the summer, but when I saw it hanging in my closet I thought the colors would work just fine for fall too. I'm typically not a fan of paisley, but this skirt was a great deal at H&M a couple of years ago, and goes with So many tops and shoes! I enjoyed mixing a deep color with a "ditzy" print, because I feel that it grounds it and also makes it feel just fine for fall.

I apologize for somewhat neglecting the blog world (both mine & yours!) for the past couple of weeks...school has been crazy as I'm nearing the end of the semester, but now that I'm on a little break for Thanksgiving I'm hoping to get things back into order!

Top: Forever 21 (similar finds here and here) | Faux-fur vest: thrifted by my roommate (similar here)
Jeans: American Eagle | Suede booties: Steve Madden (similar here and here)

I can't believe that my roommate Ashley thrifted this amazing faux-fur vest for a mere $4! How fabulous is it?? I just had to borrow it because I loved the luxe feel when paired with burgundy (and sadly, I do not own a faux-fur vest of my own yet). Although I styled this blouse with denim last week, I felt like this outfit had a different feel and that it's a really versatile ensemble featuring some of my favorite trends this fall!

Don't forget to enter my giveaway with Swank Boutique for a Gorjana & Griffin initial stackable ring! Entering is a piece of cake, so make sure to take part by Friday!

Heels: Target (similar here) | Bracelet: Charming Charlie (old)

Because the color burgundy/ox blood/wine is just about everywhere right now, what better top to feature 4 ways this month? No matter what you want to call it (personally, the name "ox blood" freaks me out a bit), there's no denying that this color family is one of fall's biggest trends! I've found a lot of inspiration for styling all variations of this color on Pinterest (cataloged here) and other blogs, which makes me wish for a bigger clothing budget just about every day (okay, maybe every single day)! For now though, I'm forced to be content with my favorite burgundy nail polish and finding different ways to style this blouse. Sigh.

I have the cutest giveaway coming your way this weekend so make sure to watch out for it on Facebook and Bloglovin!

4 Ways to Style a Fall Skirt {2}.
10.09.2012

Blouse: Forever 21 (sold out, but similar versions here and here). Skirt: PacSun (old, but similar versions here and here).

I wanted to show a dressier way I like to style this tribal-print bodycon skirt, and what better way to do that than with the season's most popular color: burgundy! I was so fortunate to find such a pretty blouse for such a great price on Forever 21.com, and I'm looking forward to styling it all kinds of different ways this fall and winter.

But back to this outfit... I love the versatility of this skirt and the contrast between a casual look like last time and a dressy look for going out as I've shown here! I also styled this outfit with nude suede platform pumps, but Jo and I just couldn't resist shooting in this gorgeous field!
