Hey girls, I'm keeping things short and sweet for today's post because I'm writing this in the middle of the night and it's been a lonnngg, crazy work week. Fortunately I'm off of work today and getting to model in a fun shoot, and hopefully I can post some fun sneak peeks on my Instagram story!
I hope you all have an amazing Easter weekend! Thank you so much for stopping by xx
Happy Friday! As I mentioned in my March Wish List post, I finally found these girlfriend jeans that I love! They're super high-waisted (they come all the way up to my belly button/natural waist), which is great for me since I have such a long torso (😒). I also love this little bell-sleeve sweater from Chicwish. It's more fitted than I expected, but that makes it perfect for tucking into high-waisted jeans!
We have had such an early spring here this year (yay!), but this weekend we may get some snow! I really hope we don't, but if we do I guess it will be a good excuse to stay nice and cozy inside together :)
On Saturday we had the craziest 75 degree day and it was the most amazing thing in the middle of February! I took the opportunity to shoot this pretty spring top since spring is [hopefully] right around the corner and of course I'm already thinking ahead with outfit ideas and things I want to buy!
Since this top is quite feminine, I decided to 'tone it down' with ripped jeans, and loved the juxtaposition of the two.
**Edit: When I published this post this morning I totally wasn't thinking about it being Valentine's Day, but Happy VDay girls! Do you have any special plans?? Trey and I are keeping it more low-key this year and just going out tonight for sushi and drinks. I'm so excited for a little date night :) Last year we did a fancy weekend getaway and dressed up and gave each other nice gifts, but with our home reno projects coming up we were both completely content with a date night and the chance to spend some time together!
My gosh did I ever pick the wrong day yesterday to photograph a mini skirt. It was soooo cold and windy!
But I absolutely love this skirt! The lace-up detail and asymetrical hemline make it a unique statement piece that can be styled many different ways. However, it definitely runs a little small! Definitely not the best length for a 5'8" girl FYI ;) I think if I had gone up a size that it would work better though. Just wanted to give you girls a heads up!
I hope you all had a great weekend! You may have seen on Snapchat that I got to finish my Christmas decorating and do a lot of cleaning at home this weekend. It was just what I needed going into a crazy couple of weeks!
Who has the palest legs of them all? This girl 🙋 It's pretty obvious that I've been lazy about self-tanner lately, so I'm definitely going to take care of that tonight when I shower!
I love love love this dress though! Embroidery is one of my favorite favorite trends right now, so of course I had to snatch up this dress as soon as I saw it. I like that there are a few different ways to style it too (that will work better for colder temps) - over jeans, with tights and ankle boots, or paired with OTK boots.
If you're reading this, then congrats - we've made it to Friday or the weekend! This week actually flew by so quickly, and I managed to cook a healthy dinner at home every night but one, and I squeezed in 3 workout classes! Being sick for 3 weeks earlier this month really knocked my energy levels, but I've been focusing on drinking tons of water, eating lots of veggies, getting back in the gym...and averaging over 7 hours of sleep each night (SO hard for me with working full time + blogging!). I'm also trying to build up my immune system before winter after being on antibiotics for 19 days (ick!!), so I've been religiously taking awomen's multivitamin, a high-quality probiotic, and elderberry liquid every day. Do you have any tips or products for energy and supporting your immune system? I'd love to know!
Tonight Trey's football team has a district playoff game, and then tomorrow I'm going to a production of Mama Mia with my mom, so it should be a fun weekend! :) Do you have any fun weekend plans??
Thanks so much for reading, and have a great weekend! xoxo
I know I say it every time I wear these flare jeans, but I am absolutely obsessed with them! The denim is so soft, and every time I put them on I feel like I'm having a Rachel Zoe moment. In my book, that's an amazing, glamorous thing! This outfit is very voluminous, but for some reason I felt it worked. Also, kind of dying over that dappled light!
I also neeeed to share that my embroidered Zara bag (yes, the one I've worn in my last 5 outfit posts) is back in stock! I've gotten quite the mixture of compliments and weird remarks about it, but I'm a big fan, so that's all that really matters, right? ;)
I hope you ladies have a great weekend! This will be my first weekend at home in a month, so I'm giddy with excitement to just chill and try to get over the nasty chest cold I have! I get to do my oldest niece's hair and makeup tomorrow for her first homecoming dance, and I'm so excited about it - she's going to look extra stunning!
I love putting together fun outfits for concerts because I feel like you can wear something a little more daring than you usually do, so I wanted to share this outfit that I wore for the Beyonce concert weekend before last! I had planned to wear a hat that night and sadly left it at home, but I went ahead and wore one for photos to complete the look ;)
Speaking of hats, I finally got my first Janessa Leone hat! I've only wanted one for about two years, so I'm over the moon excited about it. My exact hat is currently sold out, but I love ALL of her designs and how they fit! I ordered mine from Shopbop in two sizes because they have free 3-day shipping and free returns, so it wasn't a big deal for me to try both out and get the perfect fit.
