Mizzou Style | Gold Tunic
11.21.2014

Today is the fourth and final installment of our Mizzou Style series! It's been so fun to come up with several looks with Elle and Jacqueline, and I hope we gave you some great outfit ideas for cheering your teams on, whichever they may be (just no Kansas Jayhawks please ;)).

Tunic: Forever 21 (on sale! | runs large, wearing size small) | Jeans: H&M | Jacket: Forever 21 (old | similar price point, next step up) | Hat: Prima Donna | Booties: DV by Dolce Vita (similar here, here) | Bag: Phillip Lim for Target (similar steal, 3.1 Phillip Lim) | Watch: Fossil

I actually wore this top for our second Mizzou Style post, but styled it a totally different way here. As a tall girl with a bootie, I always love finding tunic length tops and sweaters, so this Forever 21 find was an amazing steal.

I hope you all have a fantastic weekend! We have a Thanksgiving lunch at work today that I am waaayyy too excited about :)

Mizzou Style | Skater Skirt
10.31.2014

Happy Halloween! Today is the second in the Mizzou Style series with Elle of Living in Color Style and Jacqueline of Stylin' in St. Louis! Be sure to check out their posts (and fabulous blogs) as well!

I've noticed a ton of girls at games this year wearing black skater skirts and black dresses with boots/booties, so I did my own take on the look with a long sweater now that it's fully fall. Regardless of what college team you're rooting for you can turn your team colors into a really cute, trendy outfit! If you live in the south/southwest you can probably still wear skirts to games and I'm pretty jealous about that. Last weekend it was around 80 degrees for Mizzou's game, but this weekend's game (which I'm going to!) will only be about 50 degrees - so I will not be wearing this unfortunately.

Top: Forever 21 (runs big & is long) | Skirt: Target (similar here, here) | Sweater: H&M (similar (only $13)) | Booties: DV by Dolce Vita (limited sizes here | similar) | Bag: Phillip Lim for Target (similar) | Mrs. Necklace: Kate Spade

I hope you all have a wonderful, fun and safe Halloween! This is our first Halloween in our new home, so I'm so excited to dress up and have a bunch of little trick-or-treaters :)

Mizzou Style | Leopard Scarf
10.24.2014

Today I'm so excited to be launching a 4-part Mizzou Style series with two other fabulous bloggers: Elle of Living in Color Style and Jacqueline of Stylin' in St. Louis! We all happen to be Mizzou alumni, so of course football season is a big deal. This weekend is Homecoming for Mizzou (cool fact: Mizzou is actually considered 'the birthplace of Homecoming'), so it was the perfect time to kick off our Mizzou Style series with some black and gold looks :)

Sweater: GAP (just sold out | similar here, here) | Jeans: H&M (50% off) | Boots: Vince Camuto via Sole Society (more options below) | Jacket: Forever 21 (old | similar here, here) | Scarf: Sole Society (nearly identical) | Bag: H&M (similar) | Sunglasses: Ray-Ban | Black & gold bracelet: House of Harlow 1960 | Watch: Fossil | Lips: Revlon Colorburst Balm Stain in 'Crush'

For my first Mizzou Style look I wanted to show an outfit I actually wore to a game a couple of weeks ago! A simple black sweater is a closet essential in my book, and pairs perfectly with a leopard scarf for a chic bit of 'gold.' I went with a leather bomber jacket and my over-the-knee boots for some warmth, and then of course had to have sunglasses for the game.

I hope you enjoy our new series and that you check out Elle and Jacqueline's posts as well! Have a great weekend :)

PS - here's a photo of Trey and I at the Georgia game two weeks ago :)

Highlighter Peplum
9.23.2014

 Top: H&M (size 6)
Pants: Target (similar at J. Crew Factory & Old Navy (on sale + extra 25% off today))
Bag: H&M in-store (love this one)
Heels: Prabal Gurung for Target (similar here and here)
Watch: Fossil
Druzy bangle: Margaret Elizabeth
Lips: Sephora Cream Lipstain in 'Everlasting Burgundy'

It wasn't particularly planned, but I've been posting a lot of work looks lately! Since I work in a dressier office this year, work attire has become a much bigger part of my closet and shopping. Fortunately, I'm learning to be more creative with my styling outside of jeans! I bought this little peplum number because it's black and yellow and our school district's colors are black and gold (you have to take advantage of these finds). I love that it's a bit edgy, but still perfect for the office.

coming home | black & gold
10.24.2013

Sweater: Rodi Boutique (online store coming soon) (similar sweaters here and here) | Skinnies: Rodi Boutique (similar)
Boots: Antonio Melani from Dillards (similar) | Purse: Tobi (here in other colors | Love this black & gold crossbody purse)
Rings: Rodi and Gorjana & Griffin c/o Swank Boutique | Lipstick: Revlon

I'm wearing black & gold this week in honor of Mizzou (University of Missouri - Columbia) Homecoming! I graduated from Mizzou in May, so this will be my first homecoming as an alumni. I can't wait to be reunited with some of my best friends and to watch my #5 Tigers take on S. Carolina!

I hope you all are having a great week! Needless to say I'm glad it's Friday Eve ;)

simple can be chic
10.22.2013

 Top: Forever 21 | Jeans: Forever 21
Flats: Target | Bag: Phillip Lim for Target (sold out)
Bracelets: Asos, F21, vintage (great gold layering bracelets here and here) | Lipstick: bareMinerals

Not only can simple be chic, but cheap can be chic too! "Chic" is of course a completely subjective descriptor, and to you this outfit may seem like a complete snooze fest. But I felt quite chic in this look! Of course, I think a bit of leopard adds a touch of chic to any outfit though! And I love wearing gold, so the studded sleeves of this top are a great little bonus. Overall though, this outfit is incredible affordable (the top and jeans are both $11 or less right now). Check out the links above or below for prices! I highly recommend these flats for an unbeatable $20.

PS ~ It's officially homecoming week at Mizzou (my alma mater), so I had to break out a bit of black and gold in this casual outfit. Later this week I'll be styling a homecoming look, so I guess I'd might as well call it black + gold week on the blog!

homecoming.
10.26.2012

Blouse & skirt: Forever 21. Booties: Target. Jewelry: gifted & vintage. Nails: "Stormy" by Revlon.

It's homecoming weekend here at the University of Missouri (aka Mizzou) and I'm so excited! So, in honor of this fabulous weekend, here is a homecoming-inspired look! Can you tell our colors are black and gold? :) Homecoming is really important at Mizzou because it was started here (in 1911!) and it's a great opportunity for students, alumni, and families to gather together. I can't wait for the football game tomorrow and all of the other festivities.

In case your favorite team's color are also black & gold, or you love the classic combination, here are some glam ways to wear the colors!

Have a fabulous weekend!
