casual friday.
7.26.2013

Top: Target | Shorts: Levi's via JCPenney
Sandals: Target | Necklace: Forever 21 (similar)
Bracelets: ASOS and F21 | Sunglasses: brand unknown

I don't show casual looks on here that often, especially in the summer, but here's my stab at one! I find it really difficult to style casual outfits in the summer that are more interesting than just denim shorts and a v-neck essentially. However, this has been one of my favorite outfits this summer and I absolutely love these bubblegum pink shorts!

I hope you have a fantastic weekend! TGIF!

july remix: white sundress {1}
7.05.2013

Dress: Forever 21 | Sandals: Target
Purse: Target (similar: splurge or steal) | Necklace: Forever 21 (similar)
Sunglasses: Anthropologie | Bracelet: Francesca's Collections (not online) | Rings: Gorjana & Griffin
Nails: 'Bachelorette Bash' by Essie | Lips: Revlon

This month I chose to feature this sundress as my remix piece! The white or cream sundress is a classic item to own, and most of us have at least one hanging in our closets, so I thought it might be fun to play around with! For my 2 other looks I'm planning to do a dressy look and then a 'fun' look...not sure what that will be yet though!

I've been loving all the colorful accessories that have been so in this spring and summer, and a sundress is the perfect base to add fun pops of color to (especially when styling for a casual occasion)! I know I've talked about it before, but I also love using nail polish to add extra color to my outfits like I did here.

Hope you're enjoying the long weekend!

june remix: skater skirt {3 + recap}.
6.27.2013

Top: GAP (basically the same one here) | Skirt: boutique find (similar here or here)
Sandals: Target | Bag: Aldo (old, but love this one)
Sunglasses: Anthropologie | Watch: Fossil
Lips: Revlon | Nails: Essie 'Bachelorette Bash'

This is the third and final look of my remix series this month, and I wanted to change it up by doing something a little more casual! I'm obsessed with the skater skirt trend (Asos has a bunch of them on sale, btw), but I usually only ever see them dressed up. However, this skirt was so easy to throw on with my favorite v-neck and sandals, which makes it a bit preppier and totally wearable for shopping, sight-seeing, lunching, etc.

And side note...I just got these sunnies in the mail from Anthropologie and I fell in love with them because they remind me of all of the fabulous Karen Walker sunglasses that I'll probably never be able to afford! They're great quality and I think I like how they look (although I'm not 100% sold yet), so they ended up being a fantastic purchase!

And now a recap of this month's 3 different looks... Which was your fav??

(check out the 1st and 2nd looks here and here, respectively)

Top: Forever 21 (similar) | Jeans: PacSun (similar)
Heels: Prabal Gurung for Target | Necklace: Forever 21 (old)
Bracelet & Sunglasses: vintage

These red skinnies aren't the most spring-y color, but I wanted to style the colored pants trend! Red and black is such a classic pairing, and everyone knows I have plenty of black in my closet :)

This girl has got some serious style! Nicole Richie has definitely come a long way from when she first acquired her stardom and has blossomed into such a gorgeous, fashionable momma.

The reason Nicole Richie is a style inspiration for me is her incredible talent of making Bohemian style look chic and pulled together. I mean, who else can honestly wear baggy jeans and a t-shirt like that? I think a big factor that pulls her looks together so well is her ability to accessorize. It's really incredible how much of a difference the addition of a great bag, scarf, jewelry or sunglasses can make when styling even the most casual of outfits. She also picks really fantastic pieces with lots of details, embellishments and color.

Which of these looks is your favorite?

striped denim.
7.20.2012

Romper: Forever 21 (from last year). Wedges: Target (here + I also love these and these). Purse & sunglasses: Aldo (from last year). Turquoise bracelet: gifted. Turquoise ring: Forever 21. Watch: Fossil.

Well this has been quite the week! My cousin, her son, and husband are moving from California to North Carolina and came through my hometown, so I drove home from school to visit them for a couple of days! AND, my sister has a huge swim meet at my school this whole week, so I've been able to see her swim, which I absolutely love to do! She had a day off from her meet today so we got to spend the day together, which I always treasure so much. It's amazing how much more you value time with your family once you've been away from them...

On another note, I love this little denim romper/jumpsuit for summer because of the cute striped denim fabric and the fun cutout in the back! I always love an opportunity to keep as cool as possible in the Missouri heat & humidity while still being at least slightly stylish! I always like to add in colorful accessories to keep this outfit upbeat and summery as well :)
