What's on my Christmas Wish List 12.08.2017

Did you catch my 2017 Holiday Gift Guide for her, for him, and for kids? Well today I'm sharing my own Christmas list! When Trey or family ask me what I want for Christmas I usually have zero ideas off the top of my head for them. So this year I made up a little list! You'll noticed some towels in the mix because we're currently renovating our master bathroom and I've been on the lookout for new towels :)

Off-the-Shoulder Polka Dot Maxi 7.07.2017

Lulu's sent me the dress of my dreams and I am straight up obsessed. I need someone to get married ASAP or for Trey to whisk me off on an amazing date night so I can show this pretty thing off.

I traditionally highly dislike polka dots. They're usually way too preppy for my personal taste. But damn this dress has changed me! I've also been searching for the perfect off-the-shoulder maxi dress all spring and summer, so thank god this one came along.

A few of things to note! This dress sells out pretty often, but they always restock it within a few weeks! I've seriously had my eye on it since April, but it kept selling out before I got the chance to order it. Just sign up for the email notification if your size is sold out right now :) This is one of those dresses that you can dress up or down quite a bit. I can't wait to style it with a belt and some flat sandals for a more laid back look. Also, this slit is hiiiiigh. It looks amazing, but is definitely a little risky, especially on a windy day (like when I shot these photos). I'm getting mine sewn a wee bit lower this week and then it really will be my perfect dress!

 Do you girls have any exciting weekend plans? Trey's family has a huge family reunion Saturday, so that will definitely keep us busy. I may need to chill and recharge my introvert batteries tonight to prep for a full day of small talk tomorrow 😜 (anyone else know exactly what I mean??)

5 Instagram Accounts I'm Loving This Summer 6.27.2017

While I have a love-hate relationship with Instagram (the damn algorithm will be the death of my patience), I get so so much inspiration from the many beautiful accounts on there. I looooove the new collections feature where I can make as many mood boards as my little ocd heart desires. Can you believe how much everyone has stepped up their Insta game in the last couple of years? Throwback to the old days when you didn't worry about your theme or layout or what time of day to post haha (miss it).

Now onto the outfit... This cropped off-the-shoulder top would be absolutely perfect for the 4th! I think it would be so cute with a pair of overall shorts or a denim mini skirt (as well as with cutoff shorts). 4th of July Outfit Idea + Festive Finds 6.23.2017

I always feel so incredibly grateful when brands and retailers I love want to partner up or send things my way. It's a blessing when your hard work is noticed!

But anyways... I got the most amazing package from Lulus last week, which included this adorable off-the-shoulder romper! I already know that this will be one of my go-to's this summer because it's lightweight, effortless, and so cute! I think it would be a great option for the 4th of July too...   

I have to admit that I'm not someone who gets overly excited or festive for the 4th. I embarrassingly can't even remember what we did last year 🙈 But this year, some of Trey's cousins from Florida will be in town and we're so excited to hangout with them (and their cute lil babies)!

Effortless Off-the-Shoulder Dress 6.01.2017

Every spring and summer I look for effortless dresses that are lightweight, comfortable and stylish...and this is one of those! I love that it can be dressed up a bit for dinner, worn casually to a summer BBQ, or for sightseeing and shopping. Every time I wear this dress I find myself keeping it on at the house because it's just so comfortable! Sadly I can't find the stripes in stock anywhere online 😢 (will let you know on IG if it comes back!), but I found it in stock in all sizes in the floral pattern here!

Also, these Quay sunglasses that I keep stealing borrowing from Brianna, are now on sale for just $27! I just ordered the light pink for myself but they come in 3 other colors too!

We made it to Williamsburg, Virginia yesterday afternoon and finally got a good night of sleep last night after staying up all night the night before! We're going to a winery this afternoon, so obviously I'm v. excited about today's plans 😂

5 Places I Want to Travel in the US 5.15.2017

Trey and I try to travel as much as we possibly can (especially before starting a family), and are constantly talking about places we want to visit! We have a couple of trips planned for this summer, so travel has been on my mind daily as I prepare for those trips. Trey and I have never traveled internationally together, and it will definitely happen someday (our list is growing!), but for now we're trying to utilize vacation days and what money we can set aside to travel a lot within the US. There are soooo many incredible places to see around the world, but I think that we sometimes take our own [gigantic] country for granted and forget about all of the amazing places to see here too. 

SO...I thought I would share 5 places in the US that are high up on my list of where I want to travel! These are all places I haven't been but really really want to see (among a lonngg list of others).

1 | Charleston, SC

I'll have to double check with my mom, but I think I may have spent a day in Charleston with my family as a kid. However, I don't remember a thing, so I'm not counting it ;) Charleston looks so charming and beautiful, and I love all of the colorful buildings and flowers. When Julia of Gal Meets Glam moved there I was sold on it being somewhere I had to visit. 

2 | National Parks in Utah

I love that there are 5 huge national parks in Utah (watch this video), and want to road trip out there so badly! We are not people who hike or spend a great deal of time outdoors, but I really want to do a hiking trip out there. Arches National Park has been in my top 5 destinations for a long time. I think it looks breathtaking. 

3 | Phoenix/Scottsdale

Trey has been to this area and loved it, so I'm dying to go! I think desert scenery is so beautiful, and they sound like such fun cities too! I just love the architecture/aesthetic vibe out there (from stalking pictures and real estate for years), so I know I would find it an inspiring place to travel. 

4 | Pacific Northwest

We have heard such good things about both Seattle and Portland, and observed how beautiful the scenery is in that part of the country, so this is somewhere we really want to go! I'm definitely drawn to the mixture of coastal scenery and nearby mountains (and all of the fresh seafood).

5 | Miami

I'm not a party gal and I think that's what a lot of people think of when referencing Miami, but I just think it looks gorgeous down there! I've barely been to Florida (Jacksonville for a few days), so I need to see more of it! I think Miami looks like a great time, and I'm always down for some white stucco, palm trees, and a view of the beach :)

The Show Must Go On 5.12.2017

You may remember that a couple of weekends ago I went up to Columbia (home of my alma mater, Mizzou!) with my friend Jo to do an engagement shoot, and visit my friends Ashley and Brianna. 

Jo, Brianna, and I had been planning a photoshoot for months! We collaborated with a few different brands for this shoot, and I had even made an inspiration board. Naturally, out of all the beautiful weather this spring, Missouri (and surrounding states) got hit with the most intense rain that weekend and had record flooding in many places around the region. 

The show [photoshoot] had to go on, so thank sweet baby Jesus that Brianna found this amazing oasis called Helmi's Gardens in Columbia.   

Helmi's was the best greenhouse I've ever been to and we got to shoot in this gorgeous jungle of a place while it was monsooning away outside. They had cats, bunnies and birds, and the most beautiful selection of plants.

You may have seen on Instagram and my IG story that I brought home the perfect fiddle leaf fig from there! Shoutout to Jo for sacrificing the cleanliness of her car for me to lug that little guy home! 😜

The cutest boutique, Gallery Style, was kind enough to send Brianna and I these outfits to style for the shoot! I'd actually been eyeing this dress for a few months because you all know how much I love black, florals, and off-the-shoulder stuff :) It's so comfortable, and can easily be dressed up or down!

Long story short, Jo is such a boss and wasn't even stressed that it was pouring down rain. We shot a couple of other looks that I'll be blogging soon! For those of you who don't know, Jo helped me start my blog waaayyyy back in the day, and I seriously wouldn't be doing this without her! So I owe her forever and ever :)
