Weekend Breakfast
6.06.2017

Casual spring/summer outfit
Moon River white tank top
Healthy breakfast / Nourish Cafe in Columbia, MO

These are the last of the photos I shot with my bestie Jo (Jo Johnson Photography) on our little girls weekend to Columbia several weeks ago (view the other posts here and here). It was absolutely pouring that day, so we improvised with indoor photos, and ate a delicious brunch at a healthy + photogenic restaurant called Nourish Cafe.

This little Moon River top is Jo's, but I've been thinking about buying it for myself ever since! It's breezy and relaxed, and the details are so pretty.

Today we are headed home from our Virginia + DC trip, and I can't wait to snuggle with my little furries in our own bed! I love and live for traveling, but at the same time... there's no place like home :)

I'll have a few travel related posts coming your way soon, including "a weekend in DC" and my travel essentials/vacation packing list!

Greenhouse Vibes

This post is part two from the shoot I did with my friend Jo of Jo Johnson Photography in Columbia a few weeks ago! For the full story of why we shot in this gorgeous greenhouse check out my first post here.

Gallery Style Boutique sent me this gorgeous little set (top, shorts) for the shoot and I am still so obsessed! I love that this outfit defines the waistline and is so comfortable yet flattering.

We also got to partner with one of my very favorite jewelry brands, Kendra Scott (via their beautiful St. Louis store), to style some of their gorgeous summer collection! I love this necklace that can be adjusted to a wide range of lengths (the choker length is my favorite though), and these stunning statement earrings that totally give off mermaid vibes!

I hope you girls are all having a great week! I get to see my sister this weekend for the first time since February, so I'm wanting the rest of my work week to fly by! She moved to Virginia last August for law school and we're super close, so it's been hard on me to only see her a couple of times in a year!

Thanks for reading!

I love love love this little chambray romper for spring and summer! It's completely effortless to wear and style (throw on one piece and you're practically done) and is as comfy as wearing PJs all day! For chillier spring days and nights, it looks adorable with a little cardigan or pullover sweater, or even a utility jacket, and because it's chambray it can work as a neutral for layering.

How do you all feel about the choker necklace revival from the 90s?? At first I was so surprised they were coming back in the fashion world, but I'm 100% on board. When I was younger, my mom didn't let me wear chokers (seriously, I have never owned one in my life until recently), so maybe deep down that's part of why I like them so much ;) It's definitely a trend my poor hubs doesn't understand one bit though!

My friend Jo stayed with us last weekend while she shot a wedding nearby and it was amazing get in some girl time! For those who recognize her name, she was our wedding photographer, and also helped me start my blog! I usually take my own blog photos, so it was the most fabulous thing ever to get to shoot a couple of looks with her! She is also the photographer/social media guru for Maude, which is located in Fayetteville, Arkansas. This sweater dress is hers from Maude, but I loved it so much I'm planning to order it for myself (maybe in the camel though)! It's so soft, so flattering, and is under $50.

(I can't recommend Jo highly enough! She is so unbelievably talented and great to work with. She is currently located in Northwest Arkansas and Southwest Missouri, but is able to travel anywhere, so please don't hesitate to reach out to her if you're looking for a photographer!)
All other wedding details linked in this post

I can't even process how fast this year has gone by! Our wedding was one year ago today - July 26, 2014. This past year has been the best one of my life so far! I can say that with absolutely no hesitation. Life is pretty amazing when you get to live it with your best friend.

Trey and I have very different personality types, but share many common interests, so we complement each other really well and also enjoy doing a huge variety of things together. During our engagement we would get remarks/unwanted advice that marriage is really challenging, especially the first year when you're transitioning. I'm so happy to say that we have not found that to be the case whatsoever! In a world where you hear so many negative remarks and jokes about marriage, see people getting divorced right and left, and see the media and movies portraying marriage so negatively, I just wanted to share what a positive experience marriage is when you're with the right person. Marriage has been wonderful to us, and I can't imagine my life being any other way.

Trey is such a positive and gifted person. I seriously want to burst with happiness and pride when I think about him and see him! I'm blessed and lucky to call him mine.

We have been really really blessed in our lives so far, and can't wait to experience what lies ahead together. As for this weekend, we are currently having a blast on a little 3-day getaway!

Thank you to everyone who has made this year so great, and thank you so much for reading my blog and giving me this platform to share not only my love of fashion and styling, but also my life and things that are important to me. If you'd like to see photos and read about our wedding day, everything is in this post!

Happy Anniversary Babe!

xo,
Jacy
