Fall Favorites Under $50 9.24.2015

Transitioning to a new season can definitely get pricey, especially for fall and winter considering you need higher ticket items like boots and jackets. I've been focusing on building up my basics with items like distressed jeans, a [faux] leather jacket, and ankle boots, but I've been sadly neglecting other areas - tops, sweaters and other fall pieces. With not a lot of budget left I've been keeping my eye out for great tops and sweaters at affordable prices. So I've gathered some of my favorite fall transition pieces that are under $50! Now to decide which ones to get...

If you saw my last post, you know that I'm obsessed with [faux] leather trim this season! Target has so many fun leather trim pieces right now and I was so excited to snatch up this comfy sweater last week for a great price. I usually tuck tops into my skirts, but decided to play around with wearing my sweater over my mini, which ended up being super wearable! For even colder weather I figured I could add a pair of tights to this look too.

{Sorry for the rather sub-par photos. A dark, rainy morning + a tripod didn't make for the best photos I've ever posted, but it got the job done I suppose.}

This was a super easy outfit I threw on this weekend for a basketball game with my dad and Trey, and then a late-night sushi date! I love these green skinny jeans from Rodi Boutique, which now has an online store (so proud of those girls)! They're so perfect to style with neutral tops like this comfy oversized one.

I'm fully embracing fall and all of its wonderful trends, but I'm also trying to squeeze in every last bit of wear out of my skirts and dresses! Besides gradually switching over to a fall color palette, I've been transitioning all of my pieces with my accessories! Booties and scarves are my favorite way to achieve this look (I'm a huge fan of both if you can't tell). I have to admit, this is one of my favorite transitional looks to date, and it's perfect for work, which is always a plus.

august wishlist + pre-fall picks 8.18.2013

military-inspired jacket | patterned chunky heel | orange stud earrings | gold cuff

 These are some items I'm crushing on at the moment! It's still very warm here in August typically, but this year it's been a little cooler and I've got summer-to-fall dressing on my mind. When transitioning to slightly cooler temperatures, I look for dresses and tops that will pair well with a jacket on top - whether it be denim, leather or military-inspired. Cognac, nude and black are my go-to accessory colors, and booties are my fall shoes of choice. Besides that I look for small pops of color, and items that will be versatile for different temperatures and seasons.
