This is another favorite work look of mine lately! I so enjoyed this pencil skirt this summer and it worked perfectly with several sleeveless blouses I own, but now I'll be transitioning it into early fall with this chambray shirt and other long-sleeved options.

Thanks for reading!

How to Wear Chambray
2.03.2014

A few months ago I did a post with different ideas for how to wear booties (find it here), and it went over so well that I thought I would do a second one with another staple of mine: my chambray shirt! It's one of my favorite pieces because it's pretty much a neutral and because it can be worn year-round. Oh, and they're an affordable item to buy!

I know chambray shirts are nothing new or hard to style, but I still love mine and am still finding new ways to wear it!

Hope you had a great weekend and enjoyed the Super Bowl! Even though the game was a blowout, I was rooting for the Seahawks so I was happy that they won, and enjoyed the commercials and halftime show too.

October Remix: Chambray Shirt {3 + recap}
10.28.2013

 Shirt: Forever 21 (similar herehere and here) | Jeans: Forever 21
Heels: Steve Madden | Bag: Kenneth Cole Reaction - gift from a friend
Necklace: J. Crew Factory (on sale!)| Bracelet: vintage | Lipstick: Revlon

Somehow another month has already gone by, which means it's time for me to wrap up my October Remix series. This month I styled my trusty chambray shirt 3 different ways! Some months I have trouble finding 3 relatively unique ways to wear something, but this month was just the opposite. I had so many more ideas of how to wear this shirt! Needless to say, I will probably be wearing it many more times on here in the coming months (hope you're not sick of chambray yet haha).

Now for a little recap! Here are the 3 ways I styled my chambray shirt this month:

October Remix: Chambray Shirt {2}
10.15.2013

 Shirt: Forever 21 (similar here, here and here) | Skirt: H&M (old | some of my favorite fall skirts below)
Booties: Target | Bag: Phillip Lim for Target (sold out)
Bracelets: F21 and vintage (great gold layering bracelets here and here)

This is my second chambray shirt look of the month! If you missed the first post or need a refresher, you can find it here! You already know how much I love wearing skirts with booties for fall days that aren't too cold, so adding a staple chambray shirt to the mix makes for the perfect fall outfit in my book. Because chambray/denim shirts go with so much anyways, you can easily style them with lots of different skirts or even tie them over dresses!

October Remix: Chambray Shirt {1}
10.03.2013

 Top: Forever 21 (similar here, here and here) | Shorts: Gap (sold out)
Flats: Target | Bag: Phillip Lim for Target (sold out online)
Watch: Fossil | Sunglasses: c/o StyleLately

It's a new month, which means it's time for a new remix series! Because October is one of my favorite months and because I just love fall style, I'm featuring one of my favorite fall staples - the chambray shirt. Beyond just being a top fall staple, I consider a chambray shirt to be a year-round wardrobe staple. This shirt is legitimately one of the most versatile clothing items I own (second only to dark skinny jeans...seriously). This month I'll be showing 3 different ways to style a chambray shirt in the fall, and then at the end of the month I may also do a post showing all of the different ways I've ever styled this shirt.

I noticed I'm not my smiliest (just made that up) in these photos, and I can explain! I've been quite sick this week with an upper respiratory infection (no bueno), so I've been working from home the last couple of days and looking very unglamorous in giant college t-shirts. However, I toughed out some outfit photos yesterday evening...hence my barely smiling, pale face haha. Fabulous.

 Shirt: Forever 21 (similar here or here) | Skirt: Francesca's Collections (or lace version here)
Heels: Target | Bag: Kenneth Cole Reaction (couldn't find it, but love this one)
Bracelets: Francesca's and Forever 21 (similar here and here)
Layered Gold Necklaces: Francesca's and Forever 21 (similar here and here)

 I know, I know...I'm already doing a skater skirt series this month. I scored this pretty little brocade skirt a week or two ago though and just couldn't put off posting it any longer! This skirt will be great to dress up or down, but for this look I figured I would pair it with a tied chambray shirt because honestly, what else? I'm telling you, this shirt has been one of the most worn pieces in my closet since I bought it (so hopefully you're not too sick of it yet).

Happy weekend darlings!

spring...ish.
3.09.2013

 Shirt: Forever 21 (similar) | Skirt: White House Black Market (borrowed)
Booties: Steve Madden (similar) | Watch: Fossil (similar)

 It was gorgeous outside today and it felt like a little slice of heaven! Quite the contrast from the two feet of snow in my photos last week. I wore this outfit to eat at the cutest little tearoom with my dearest friend Haley. Time with her is few and far between because we live in different cities, so getting to spend the day with her was another little slice of heaven.

Side note... I'm starting to think that this chambray shirt is the most versatile top I own! It's perfect for winter, but is also a great transitional piece for spring and fall. Can't beat that! Now all I need is a tan. Stat.

pom pom.
1.18.2013

 Shirt: Forever 21 (similar here and here) | Jeans: Asos
Pom pom hat: Forever 21 (similar) | Booties: Target (sold out, but love these)
Scarf: handmade by a friend | Bracelet: vintage | Nails: Essie 'Sole Mate'

It's been f r e e z i n g here the past few weeks, so warmth has been a significant factor when getting dressed. Cue my new pom pom hat, which I love. I used to have short hair, so anytime I tried to wear a wintery beanie of some variation I just looked ridiculous (my sister would actually bust into hearty laughter), but now that my hair has Finally grown out, I can Finally wear hats like this. Thank gosh!

I also know I joined the chambray train late (not because I didn't want to, but because I'm cheap and have the lankiest arms of all time), but this shirt is honestly the easiest thing to throw on and goes with everything it seems. Easy, comfy, and cute? Sign me up for that every day please!

Jacy
