Flannel

Flannel: June & Beyond Boutique (similar) | Tee: Madewell
Jeans: Articles of Society | Ankle Boots: Seychelles

I hope you had a great weekend! We had a pretty low-key weekend at home and watched a lot of football and a lot of Star Wars ;)  We decided to do a Star Wars marathon to prep for the new one coming out in a few weeks and it's been so fun to watch them together (my first time watching them in probably 8-10 years).  I'm actually quite motivated this Monday morning because I just have a two-day work week! Trey and I are lucky to have the same employer (school district), so we both get Thanksgiving break from Wednesday-Sunday :) I'm pretty stinkin excited about a 5-day weekend! And to spend some time with our families.

This low-key, casual look is one I threw together this weekend for a lunch date. I had forgotten how comfortable flannels are, so I've been wearing mine quite a bit and experimenting with different ways to style it. What's your favorite way to style a flannel?

Tee: c/o Lookbook Store (runs short) | Flannel: June & Beyond (local boutique; similar online here)
Jeans: H&M (have had these over a year & still love them!) | Shoes: Seychelles

This look is a little more edgy for me, but I've been trying to step outside of my comfort zone lately. I like that this flannel added a subtle pop of color + I like a little bit of the 90s in small doses ;)

On another note... I've never been very good at doing my hair and as I'm sure you've noticed, I pretty much always wear it the same way (down & wavy)! So, I've been trying to experiment a bit more as my hair type and length allow - top knot here, and half-up in this post. If you have any more ideas for me let me know! :)

Shirt: PacSun (similar here and here + more below) | Skirt: Francesca's (similar)
Heels: Target (sold out | similar) | Necklace: J. Crew Factory | Bracelet: vintage

I always love an unexpected pairing, so dressing up this flannel was such a fun outfit to style! Flannels have typically always been associated with more of a grunge type of style...but I've noticed in the last couple of years that they're being styled more and more as sophisticated and even preppy. Love it!
