A Simple, Romantic Hairstyle I Love
2.28.2018

floral romper for spring
simple twist-back hairstyle
I will definitely never be Amber Fillerup in the hair department, but I am making an effort to switch up my hair styles more, rather than just wearing it down and wavy every single day. For whatever reason, I always feel a bit more glamorous and romantic with my hair pulled back on one side. It's a simple way to pull your hair back a bit, and will also show off a beautiful statement earring (which I'm so into at the moment). I used the following Privé products (love their minimal branding) + steps to get lots of shine and texture for this look:

After air drying about 50% I sprayed the Privé root amplifier at my roots as well as the Privé shine mist on the bottom half of my hair before blow drying. I usually avoid hair oils and shine sprays because I worry they'll weigh down my baby fine hair, but this one truly doesn't at all. As I've used it over the past few weeks I've been so impressed by how it makes my hair weightlessly shiny and smooth.

After curling per usual with my one-inch wand and shaking it out to create looser, messy waves, I pulled one side back in a subtle twist. I started it loosely in the front, and then added small pieces of hair as I worked backwards. I find that this helps it to stay, and just integrates the twist into your hair a bit better. Then I simply hid a few bobby pins under the rest of my hair and finished my look with the Privé finishing texture spray, which adds just the right amount of hold and texture without making your hair look dull or feel stiff.

If you would like to try any of Prive's products, use code JACY10 for 10% off of your order! This code is good through March 28, 2018.

Have you guys ever tried this simple, but elevated look? I definitely plan to style my hair like this on vacation next month whether to keep my hair out of my face or to simply elevate my look a bit for dinner!

Would you like to see more beauty posts on here? I hadn't done a hair post in a long time, but have had some requests, so I thought I would start with this!

Thank you to Privé for partnering with me on this post! I have genuinely been so impressed by their products so far. And thank you to my readers for your support via links and the occasional sponsored post that make this space possible 💛

My New Self-Tanning Routine
1.26.2018

What I use to fake a tan | Love, Lenore

If you haven't already been able to tell, I'm naturally very, very fair skinned (Trey affectionately calls me translucent). Because of this and my mom having had skin cancer, I try not to spend much time in the sun, and am really good about wearing SPF. So, I rely on self tanning products to give me some color!

I'd always heard that Tanceuticals products were amazing (in fact, they're often rated the #1 self-tanner), so I was really, really excited when they sent me their products to try. After testing them out for the past month, I really couldn't wait any longer to share my new routine with you! It's been a game-changer for me. Here are some things I've been looking for in a self tanner:

* Doesn't wash off completely after one shower
* Makes me visibly tanner after just one use
* Quick and easy application
* Doesn't have the "self tanner smell"

Read on for my routine, and to see if it checks all of these boxes!

What I use to look tan | Love, Lenore
Tanceuticals self tanning products
01 | Exfoliate
About once a week, I like to do an especially good exfoliation sesh. Not only do I use this scrub, but I'll also either dry brush before my shower or use these exfoliating gloves in the shower. This removes any dead skin (cute, right?) and built up self tanner, leaving you with a nice, smooth base to work with. It's important to spend a little bit of extra time on your ankles, knees and elbows!

02 | Apply Tanner
Post nighttime shower, I wait awhile until my skin is completely dry, and then I apply my self tanner. My absolutely favorite is the Tanceuticals CC Self Tanning Body Lotion. It's so fast and easy to apply (use this mitt, trust me!), doesn't have a weird smell, and you wake up in the morning looking so tan! And guess what?? It doesn't wash completely off the next time you shower! 🙌 #bless. After showering last night and just applying moisturizer (not self tanner), I'm still tan this morning :) I've been using the ultra-dark, but next order I'm going to try the dark, just to see what works best for my skin tone. I also really like their Self Tanning Mousse, but it's a more extreme tan, so I save this to use before photoshoot days :)

03 | Moisturize, moisturize, moisturize!
Then the last essential is to moisturize like crazy to maintain your tan! Self-tanner is drying by nature, so you want to add moisture back into your skin. I've been using this Everyday Tan Extender every morning, and then if I need some extra moisture at night I just use a simple drugstore lotion.

My self-tanning routine | Love, Lenore

I don't self-tan my face very often (I usually just use a foundation slightly darker than my skin, and also swear by lots of bronzer haha), but when I do want a little more color, this face self tanner is great!

I hope you guys got some good info from this post, and enjoyed the sneak peek at our not-quite-finished bathroom :) These products have truly been a game-changer for me, and it's so nice to have some color without spending the time and energy to re-do my tanner after every single shower! Everything on their site is on sale right now too, just sayin'! 😉

Thank you so much to Tanceuticals for sponsoring this post! After loving their products so much, I couldn't wait to partner with them. And, thank you to you guys for supporting my blog through clicking and purchasing through links, and being supportive of brands that I love!

Big Beauty Product Review
10.10.2017

I realized the other day how many beauty products I've accumulated, both through some amazing gifts and through my own purchases. I thought I would try a new type of post where I review and share several products at one time. I actually had a lot more I wanted to share, but I didn't want this to get too long. If you guys like this post, I could plan to do one every few months as I try out additional products!

Love, Lenore - favorite skincare products
Origins Matte Moisturizer with Willowherb (c/o)
I started using this the morning after I received it because the words "matte moisturizer" got me all kinds of excited. I battle the classic combination skin - dry in some areas and oily in others (why, oh why, is my nose so shiny?!). I always want to moisturize my skin, but often times that process makes me too oily under my makeup. This is a really lightweight and refreshing formula that definitely keeps the shine-factor down. I'm a fan!

Dermalogica Hydrablur Primer (c/o)
I'd been wanting to try Dermalogica products ever since their episode on the How I Built This podcast, and this is the first one I've tried. This is a lovely primer formula that really does "blur" and smooth out the skin (it's pretty amazing how it smoothes out pores). It makes blending in your foundation really easy too. I just wish it had some SPF...

great product for messy, beachy hair
ArtNaturals Sea Salt Spray (c/o)
This is such a handy product to use when you're doing the messy, air-dried look or want to add more texture to your hair. This spray has lots of hair-healthy ingredients, and is paraben free and cruelty free. It also smells so yummy! 👌

affordable skincare line of masks, serums and moisturizers
Advanced Clinicals Skincare
Advanced Clinicals is an affordable skincare brand that was so kind to send over products for me to try! Their stuff is really really good! Annnddd, you can use code LENORE30 for 30% off when ordering from their Amazon shop.

Rose Hip Anti-Aging Body Oil
I love this product so much that I'm talking about it in a second blog post. It's always weirded me out to put an oil on my body, but this one has been a game-changer for me. Not only is the smell so light and pleasant, but this is super lightweight yet moisturizing. I don't feel greasy at all - my skin just feels soft and nourished.

Vitamin C Anti-Aging Serum
I've used this nightly for 2+ months now and it gives my skin some serious glow! I also love that it's lightweight and not greasy.

Hyaluranic Serum - Instant Skin Hydrator
I love to add a few drops of this serum to the vitamin c serum above when my skin needs a little bit of extra moisture!

Vitamin C Brightening Sheet Masks
I LOVE trying new masks, and especially sheet masks! This one is really good, and the price point is great too. I definitely notice brighter, more glowing skin after I use this! The only downside is that it leaves my skin a bit sticky afterwards, but the upsides are worth it in my opinion!

great sheet mask by Korean skincare brand MediHeal
MediHeal Vita Lightbeam Sheet Mask
I discovered Korean skincare brand MediHeal through one of my all-time favorite bloggers/vloggers Aimee Song. I was so excited to find their masks on Amazon after watching a video of her visit to a Korean beauty store. MediHeal makes tons of different sheet masks, and you absolutely cannot beat the prices! I plan to try more in the future, but in the meantime I absolutely love this one! It makes your skin so smooth and glowy.

Love, Lenore - favorite skincare products
Alana Mitchell Anti-Aging Peptide Eye Cream (c/o)
I talked a lot about Alana Mitchell's skincare line in this post, but wanted to specifically call out her peptide eye cream! My esthetician told me that peptides are the only thing that will help the appearance of dark circles, and I should have listened to her sooner. My undereyes are noticeably brighter in the mornings after I use this, and I've found myself using less concealer too. This is a product I definitely foresee myself purchasing once I run out, but a few months in and my little bottle is still going strong because a little goes a long way! (PS - if you sign up for the newsletters on the website there are regularly 15% and 25% off sales site-wide 👍).

CeraVe Foaming Facial Cleanser (c/o)
This is a really nice cleanser to have on hand or pick up at the drugstore if you're looking for a simple, affordable cleanser! It's great for both sensitive skin and oily skin, and I've been using it in the mornings since it's a lightweight cleanser.

Juice Organics natural shampoo and conditioner
Juice Organics Smoothing Shampoo & Conditioner (c/o)
Since I color my hair platinum blonde and regularly use purple shampoo and styling tools on my hair, this smoothing shampoo and conditioner have found their way into my regular rotation. They definitely smooth out frizz and dryness, and make my hair feel so good! I also love that this brand makes products without parabens, artificial fragrances, artificial colors, and more, so their stuff really is healthy for your hair and lifestyle.

Please let me know if this type of post is something you'd like to see more of in the future! xx

5 of my Holy Grail Makeup Products
9.14.2017

Holy Grail Makeup Products | Love, Lenore

I realized that it's been a long time since I shared some of my very favorite makeup products, so today I'm sharing 5 makeup products I absolutely swear by! These products are all the best I've ever tried in their respective categories, and that I've either repurchased multiple times, or plan to when I run out!

THE best full coverage foundation - Estee Lauder Double Wear
Double Wear is my ride-or-die makeup product. I strayed for about 6 months in an effort to save some money, but I recently went back and now remember why it's the best! The coverage is flawless and full without being cakey 🙌 and it truly does last all day! My t-zone is pretty oily, but this foundation can hold up with just a bit of setting powder on top. Tips: I apply in a stipling motion with this brush, and purchased this reusable pump to have better control of how much I'm dispensing.

I'm not going to lie, this product is a serious splurge and I delayed on buying this for years, but it really is a great highlighter and a tiny bit goes a long, long way. I've had mine for about 6 months now, and have barely made a dent. I have the color 'opal.'

Makeup favorites | Love, Lenore
I don't know how I missed out on this concealer for so many years, but it's truly fantastic! I have *very* dark circles (my entire life unfortunately), but this does a great job of covering and highlighting, and doesn't fade throughout the day. Unlike a lot of other full coverage concealers, the consistency is nice and light, and is very blendable. I've tried so so many concealers, and this is by far the best! This tube has also lasted me several months too, so I'm extremely impressed and will definitely be repurchasing for the foreseeable future.

If you've ever asked me what lipstick I'm wearing, chances are it's been this one. I wear it 9 times out of 10, and it's pretty much become my signature lip color! I've lost track of how many times I've repurchased over the past couple of years.

I'd heard/read great things about Tarte's blush for years, and finally got this one as a birthday gift from Sephora. Believe me when I say that I haven't touched another one of my blushes since I got this! The color is pigmented, so a little goes a long way, it's very blendable, and doesn't fade from my face halfway through the day like so many others. Mine is the color 'paaarty' (a soft mauve-y rose) and I can't wait to pick up another shade or two to mix into my rotation!

I have several beauty topics planned for this fall or winter, but please let me know what requests you have! Thanks for reading! xx

Q&A and Giveaway with Esthetician Alana Mitchell
8.14.2017

I'm so excited to have an absolutely amazing guest for you today! Alana is an incredibly knowledgeable esthetician who has her own skincare line (!!) and skincare e-commerce site. She's an incredibly kind soul and I knew in a heartbeat that I wanted to get to know her and collaborate with her. I've been using her skincare for a few weeks now and I can truly say that my skin hasn't looked this good for as long as I can remember. My undereye circles are noticeably lighter (never thought that would happen), and my skin tone is significantly more even. Stay tuned for the end of this post, because Alana is giving away a full set of her skincare to one of you!

And now, here's my q&a with Alana...

Hi, fellow beauty-lovers, my name is Alana Mitchell! I’m a licensed esthetician and owner of a skincare business based in Orange County, California, and I’m so excited to share some of my knowledge and expertise with all of you! Having grown up in the beauty industry, I developed my passion for skincare from a young age and eventually honed my craft as an esthetician before opening my own spa and retail space here in Southern California. Thirteen years ago, that endeavor developed into an online retail business, skincarebyalana.com, that has helped me educate and assist people to achieve their most beautiful skin; I believe in only the best ingredient-savvy products that perform well and actually deliver results!
Not long ago, I was able to launch my own skincare line, Alana Mitchell Skincare, which has been such a labor of love! Being 100% cruelty-free, I test each of the Alana Mitchell products and formulations myself for efficacy and to make sure they perform up to my standard. So it has been incredibly gratifying to see some of the most recent products in the line (like the 4-in-Cleansing Pod and Quick Comeback Masque) featured on the Hallmark Channel and nominated for the CosmoProf BeautyID Awards – and seeing our local KTLA meteorologist sharing the love for us on Instagram! Because anti-aging is always a relevant topic in skincare (it’s never too early to start!), I’m very happy to have developed such unique and innovative products that help to fight wrinkles and other signs of aging – one less thing we have to worry about!
Jacy and I became acquainted through this gorgeous site, Love, Lenore! As someone who wants to remain in-tune with the world of beauty and follow fashionable trends, I’m constantly on the lookout for new-to-me sources and outlets of information and ideas. When I reached out to Jacy and let her know how much I enjoy her content and her vision, I was thrilled to hear that she was open to collaborating! My goal is to help others uncover their most beautiful skin through education, so I jumped at the opportunity to answer some of Jacy’s skincare questions she’s tailored just for you, her lovely readers!

Jacy: In our twenties, most of us are blessed with wrinkle-free skin, but what should we absolutely be doing now to help prevent and delay aging in the future?

Alana: I know we all feel invincible when we’re young, but it’s super important to start age prevention now! My anti-aging motto is that it’s easier to prevent than reverse. There are three things you can do today to delay signs of aging tomorrow and into the future: find yourself an eye cream, hydrate (internally and externally!), and embrace SPF.

Depending on your skin type, choose between an eye cream or an eye gel – cream for normal to dry skin, and gel for oily or problematic skin. The formula should provide moisture to the delicate eye area without feeling heavy or greasy.

I will repeat what you’ve heard a million times – DRINK WATER! Drinking water is the easiest way to keep your skin looking clear, bright, and youthful. Making sure not to skip moisturizer is also a crucial part of skincare – even if you have oilier skin, moisturizer is an incredibly important step in any morning and evening routine. I promise there is a moisturizer out there that meets your needs!

I’m going to blow your mind a little: Sun damage is the biggest culprit when it comes to hyperpigmentation, wrinkles, and other signs of aging. It’s not just my mommy instincts telling you to apply sunscreen every day – it’s me as someone who is invested in skin health. SPF isn’t just for beach days!

Most medical professionals recommend an SPF of 15-50 to protect against UV damage. I personally recommend getting into the habit of including an SPF of 30 or higher into your skincare routine. Besides a regular sunscreen, SPF can be incorporated into tinted sunscreens and moisturizers, and finding one with SPF 30 isn’t difficult. Apply daily as the last step in your skincare routine (before your makeup) and you’re good to go!

Jacy: As someone in their twenties with a limited budget, what products should I prioritize with my spending?

Alana: Ever heard the term “less is more”? This can apply to all sorts of things, and is especially important when considering a budget. So, be on the lookout for products with multiple benefits in one! Maybe your serum has Hyaluronic Acid and pulls double duty as a moisturizer. Or maybe you found a moisturizer you love that also has SPF 30. With skincare, there are some amazing products that can do it all – talk about multitasking #goals!

Jacy: In a sea of skincare brands and products, what ingredients should I be looking for that will actually help with different concerns, and what ingredients should I be watching for that are just fillers?

Alana: There are some fantastic ingredients out there, like Glycolic Acid and Retinol that can work for all skin types (in moderation). Glycolic Acid promotes the shedding of dead skin cells, revealing a layer of smoother and softer skin. It treats conditions such as oiliness, acne, blackheads, and fine lines. Retinol repairs damaged skin, from stubborn pimples to wrinkles and dark spots. It also increases cell turnover and encourages collagen and elastin production. Depending on the formulation’s concentration of ingredients, it can do so without irritation -- phew!

Vitamin C and Hyaluronic Acid are great for all skin types in general. Vitamin C is perfect for anti-aging and an excellent source of antioxidants to fight free radicals. Hyaluronic Acid is great for hydration: it binds moisture to the skin, and plumps fine lines and wrinkles.

My rule of thumb? If you can’t pronounce it, Google it. Sometimes the ingredients you read could be the real deal, but more often than not they’re fillers.

Jacy: As someone who is still fighting hormonal acne and often sensitive skin, how do I balance an anti-aging skin regimen while also working to prevent breakouts?

Alana: Spot treating is ideal and will be your best friend! Fight acne with a combination of salicylic acid and glycolic pads then follow with balancing and nourishing acidophilus probiotic cream. Make sure you include an anti-aging eye cream because the skin around your eyes is delicate and the first place you will see aging. Once you’ve found a balance that works for you, your skin will glow!

So much good info, yes?? Pictured above is her full skincare line that one of you will win! After years of struggles with my skin, I'm so happy with the progress I'm seeing while using her regimen.

I hope you enjoyed this post! Good luck with the giveaway! xo

5 Drugstore Makeup Products I Love
7.18.2017

drugstore makeup favorites
After trying a bunch of new products the last few months, I'm back with 5 more drugstore makeup products I love! You can see some of my other drugstore favorites here (makeup) and here (hair products).

I've been trying different drugstore foundations in an attempt to fill in for my beloved but pricey Estee Lauder Double Wear. I personally like more of a full coverage foundation, and one that is very long-wearing. Working full-time in PR I often have long work days that extend into the evenings, and often shoot blog photos after work, so I need a foundation that's going to last. This one is definitely my favorite drugstore foundation find so far! It applies smoothly, has great coverage, and lasts far longer than the average foundation. I also like that they sell a version for normal/dry skin and one for combo/oily skin (me!), and have a good range of colors for both. This seems like a small thing, but I love the built-in pump. It makes application really easy and I like that I can easily control how much product I'm using (without wasting). Most days I only need a pump and a half because it applies and blends easily, and is very buildable. I wouldn't say I love it 100% as much as Estee Lauder Double Wear, but it's a pretty darn good dupe and I've already repurchased it! If you try it out or have used it in the past definitely let me know what you think!

Shoutout to my friend Brianna for giving me this to try a few months ago because I love love love this product! I've always been a fan of highlighting pens for some quick and easy highlighting/brightening. This one is 100% as good as more expensive versions I've tried (MAC, Bare Minerals, Mary Kay). I use a little bit of this after my under-eye concealer for a bit of extra brightening (I have really really dark circles), as well as down the bridge of my nose, just under my brows, and to highlight my cupid's bow. I blend it out with my damp blending sponge, and it's the prettiest subtle highlight!

I've been using this lipliner as a dupe for the MAC "whirl" or "velvet teddy" liner and love it! I would say it doesn't last quite as long, but at a price point under $3.50, I'm really happy with it. I also have this liner in the color "all natural," which is a great darker nude.

I've been rebuying this for over a year and it really does make such a difference in the volume of your lashes! I coat the front and back, and then do a second coat on the front.

I just bought my third tube of this mascara because it's so good! Once it's on, it seriously stays put (no weird smudges on your eyelid!), it keeps the lashes from clumping, and the curved wand definitely helps to curl your lashes. It's under $10, so definitely worth giving a try!

All About Nails - Nail Health & My Mani Tips
6.20.2017

tips for nail health & at-home manicures!
^^ my at-home mani after 4 days! color is Sally Hansen Miracle Gel in 'per-suede'
I've received some reader requests to do a post all about my nails and favorite tips and always get questions from my IG stories, so I put together a little post! I've always had decent nails and been pretty good at painting them, but with lots of trial and error, I have my healthiest, strongest nails yet, and feel like I've finally achieved a great at-home manicure!

NAIL HEALTH

1 | be picky with vitamins
I've been taking these Olly vitamins the last few months and have actually seen a significant difference in hair growth and nail growth + strength! This is the first time I've truly seen a difference from vitamins, so I'm really excited lately. I've also heard really good things about these hair & nail vitamins and just ordered, so I'll report back soon! Something I've learned is that those cheap Nature Made vitamins from Wal-mart aren't going to do much or anything for you, so spend a few dollars more and get good ones!

2 | don't overdo gel or acrylic manicures
I don't ever get my nails done anymore! I've never gotten acrylic nails, and haven't gotten a gel manicure for nearly two years. I do think a gel mani is nice for a long trip, but I don't make them a regular thing because they definitely damage my nails. If you want strong nails, don't beat them up with damaging manicures!

3 | wear rubber gloves while cleaning & doing dishes
I originally started wearing gloves to do the dishes because my hands get so dry, but now wear them religiously to help protect my nails and nail polish too! I also like to wear them to clean bathrooms, and to do any kind of scrubbing task. I use these gloves and a pair usually lasts a few months.

4 | give your nails a break
For every 2-3 manicures or pedicures, I like to give my nails a break for a week or two. In fact, I leave my toenails unpainted all winter with a month or two on each end (so about half the year!). Giving your nails a break from polish helps them breathe and return to a healthy color.

Love, Lenore: my favorite polishes for a great at-home manicure

AT-HOME MANICURE TIPS

1 | file into an oval or almond shape
Nail shape is totally up to each person's preference, but I prefer an oval or almond shape for mine! I personally think that these nail shapes elongate the fingers versus a squared off line (but you do you girl! that's just my opinion :). I also find that my nails get caught on things less often when I don't have any corners (hopefully that makes sense).

2 | use no-heat gel products
These products are not part of a sponsored post or even gifted (I wish though! ;) - they're simply what I've found to work best for my at-home mani! I've had great luck with the Sally Hansen Miracle Gel polish line paired with the Essie Gel Setter Top Coat. The Miracle Gel polishes last several days longer than your average polish, and I like that it's a thick formula, but dries fast. I never get smudges an hour or two later like I do with some other polishes. My favorite colors are Birthday Suit (the perfect pinky nude) and Per-Suede (what I'm wearing in the top photo). I've found that the Essie Gel Setter dries quickly and dries hard (no smudging!), has the great shine of an actual gel mani, and helps to prevent chips.

3 | remove the above products with acetone remover...
and then wash your hands and apply a good hand lotion. I find that acetone removes my at-home mani really easily so that I'm not picking/scraping/peeling my polish off and therefore damaging my nails. Acetone is pretty drying, which is why I like to apply a good moisturizer for awhile.

4 | when I do my manicures...
I'll be the first to admit that it's hard to find the time! But this is my personal flow... I pee right before I sit down to do my nails. I also make sure that I'm wearing something comfy and fuss-free (i.e. not jeans or an off-the-shoulder top that may need to be adjusted). Then I multitask and do my nails while we watch a TV show. To keep myself busy while my nails are drying, I'll look at social media, or promote a blog post.

5 | make a kleenex part of your mani set-up
If I "color outside of the lines" so to speak, I simply scrape the polish off of my skin with my opposite thumbnail, then wipe the tip of my thumbnail on a kleenex. This is how I keep my manicures nice and neat!

6 | first apply polish in the middle of the nail...
...then spread outwards.

7 | coat the tips with top coat
My mother-in-law, who used to be a manicurist, taught me this tip! After you coat your whole nail with top coat (starting in the middle and working outward), then run the brush along the tip of the nail to help seal the ends and prevent chipping. This has made a big difference for me!

Do you have any tips or products that you swear by? Please share below if so, and let me know if you found this post helpful! Also, if you have any post requests for beauty or lifestyle posts, holla at me! 💜

My Favorite Shampoos & Conditioners for Healthy + Bright Blonde Hair
6.13.2017

Love, Lenore: my favorite shampoos & conditioners for healthy + bright blonde hair

Ever since going much blonder over the past year, I've tried a lot of different products to keep my hair moisturized, bright, and toned, so I wanted to share my favorites with you! Today's post will be focused on shampoos and conditioners, but I'll be sharing other products in the future 😌

My last couple of hair appointments I've gotten a pretty heavy highlight so as to be super blonde for summer, and it seriously sucks all the moisture out of your hair, so I've had to stay diligent and moisturize my hair more than ever to keep it healthy. And even though my natural color/roots are a dark ashy blonde, my hair pulls quite warm when colored, so brightening and toning shampoos/conditioners are a MUST for me. They are a complete game-changer if you're blonde or have any blonde in your hair from highlights or balayage.

Ultimately, using the right products helps me to go longer between visits, and I often get asked if I just got my hair highlighted...two or three months after my last hair appointment! So, I truly swear by these products (and none of this is sponsored).

Giovanni 2chic moisturizing shampoo and conditioner with avocado and olive oil

Moisturizing Shampoo + Conditioner
I've talked about this Giovanni 2chic duo before (in this drugstore hair product post), and still love them as much as ever! Having baby fine hair, I've always been pretty scared of moisturizing shampoos and conditioners because over the years many have left me with a really chic wet dog look. Limp = not cute (haha). But these don't weight down my hair at all! Instead they give me shiny and moisturized hair from the avocado and olive oil ingredients! These definitely help to balance out color and heat damage, and it also doesn't hurt that they're only about $7 each (I usually purchase at Walgreens, but you can find this brand at Target, Wal-mart and Amazon too).

Joico Blonde Life - brightens blonde hair

Brightening Shampoo + Conditioner (c/o Joico)
You can ask my mom, sister, or any of my friends, but I've been a huge fan of Joico since high school. Their products just agree with my hair and have truly worked wonders on split ends, color and heat damage, and just overall hair health over the years. Their new Blonde Life line makes my hair so bright and shiny! I've found that it doesn't tone my hair, but really does give it that just-out-of-the-salon brightness/lightness.

Joico purple shampoo & conditioner - great for toning blonde hair

If you have blonde hair or simply any blonde in your hair, you neeeeed a purple shampoo + conditioner in your life! When I first started going blonde, I was so frustrated that my hair was pulling so warm and brassy. I really wanted that cool, light blonde I saw all over Instagram and Pinterest. Purple shampoo is the way to get that (beyond asking your colorist for cool blonde & to use toner)! I've tried 4-5 different purple shampoo/conditioner sets now, and this one by Joico is by far my favorite so far. Purple shampoos and conditioners tend to be really drying, but these are the least drying I've tried, while also toning really effectively and giving me that cool, platinum blonde look.

favorite deep conditioning treatments and hair masks | Love, Lenore

Deep Conditioners + Masks
Beyond my rotation on shampoos and conditioners, I love to use a deep conditioner or mask 1-2 times a week for some extra moisture and shine. These are some of my favorites:

Giovanni 2chic Avocado and Olive Oil Deep Moisture Mask

I used this long before the shampoo and conditioner from the same line, and love how the avocado and olive oil make my hair glossy and shiny without weighing it down. I love to coat this on the ends of my hair while I shave my legs!

Joico K-Pak Intense Hydrator

These is a classic deep conditioning treatment for damaged hair and for good reason. It's such a big help if you have split ends or any damage from heat styling or coloring your hair. I've used this since high school and swear by it!

Hask Greek Yogurt Masks

These were an impulse buy for me at Walgreens because they're only a couple of dollars, and I've ended up LOVING them! One pouch actually lasts me 5-6 uses (although I don't have a ton of hair), and there is a noticeable difference in my hair after using them.

Joico Blonde Life Brightening Mask (c/o Joico)

My brightening shampoo & conditioner typically do the trick, but if my hair starts looking a little dull I like to use this once in awhile.

Have you tried any of these? What products do you swear by for blonde hair? Let me know! xx
