How to Transition into Sweaters
9.18.2017

sweater + denim skirt
cute fall transition outfit

Being the semi-basic girl that I am, I'm of course ready to start wearing sweaters soon! Naturally, it's been super hot here this month with highs in the 80s and even up to 90 a couple of days. However, we've had a couple of cooler days and nights sprinkled in, and I've opted for lightweight sweaters like this one. I love wearing a sweater with shorts or a skirt, and how creative you can be with mixing and matching this time of year!

I picked up these ankle boots during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale back in August, but just saw that they're on sale for 30% off again! I love that they're dressy enough for the office, but can also be styled with fashion forward looks like the outfit I'm wearing here + this recent outfit.

Happy Monday! I'm not going to lie, I totally had the 'Sunday blues' last night. I never want to live for the weekends, but I do love spending Sundays with Trey and know they will always go by too quickly! This weekend was extra fantastic though! I visited my friend Jo Friday and Saturday (I'll have a blog post about it later this week!), then Trey and I hung out with a bunch of friends Saturday night and got a day off at home yesterday. No wonder it flew by!

Even though I only live 45 minutes away, I hadn't visited Modern Society, a boutique in Springfield, until a couple of weeks ago! As soon as I walked in I knew we shared the same vibes! I seriously love everything they have. These shorts have quickly become some of my favorites! They're unique and I've found that they work with so many different tops. They're not on Modern Society's website yet (I'll link later in the week when they are), but you can call the number in their Instagram bio to order. I'm obsessed!

Necklace: Forever 21 (currently sold out) | Lips: MAC 'velvet teddy'

You guys, I am obsessed with this dress! I always think tropical prints and palm prints are so stinkin' cute, but sometimes they're a little bright for me. However, this one is a little bit more muted and I just love it. I'm also a big fan of the loose shift fit, and that it can be belted for a totally different look. It's one of those dresses that you can dress up (I did for Trey's brother's rehearsal dinner Friday night) or completely dress down. We forgot to photograph the back of the dress (we were in a hurry trying to beat the rain), but it has a cute little cutout detail too.

I've partnered with Modern Society, a super cute little boutique in Springfield, MO, to do a giveaway for you guys on my Instagram! You can enter for a chance to win $50 to their store (can be used online, over the phone, or in-store - so you can enter from anywhere in the US) here!

What was something fun you did this weekend?? Most of our weekend was filled with wedding festivities, so it flew by, but we had so much fun with family and friends. Yesterday we were pretty exhausted, so we kind of had a lazy day at home with the pups. I did sneak in a couple of episodes of One Tree Hill (I never watched in HS/college but am obsessed now!) and read a little bit of my current book..."The Best of Me" :)
