jacy's bikini picks!

1. Prints
Fun prints are always a do in swimwear, but the trendiest prints can change from season to season. The ones I'm loving the most this spring and summer are big florals, animal prints, and bright Aztec-inpired patterns.

2. Bandeau tops.
I'm a huge fan of this trend. Not only is it different from the typical triangle string top, but I've found it's great for flat-chested girls like me ;)

3. Color: Coral.
Spring and summer are always all about coral, but this color is especially prominent this year in swimwear. Not only is coral flattering on anyone, but it's ultra girly and I think it makes you look more tan!

4. Bohemian inspired suits.
I love "boho" everything and in swimwear I think it's just the cutest. The patterns and crocheted details have a sort of retro, 70's vibe.

5. Ruffles.
Ruffles on swimwear are simply feminine, flattering and beautiful! Need I say more?

What are your swimwear favs this season and which of these trends are you especially loving??
Fortunately I already have multiple coral and bandeau swimsuits so I'm going to be on the hunt for just the right printed bikini!

Giant feather earrings from Aldo Shoes.
My weird legs :/ Hidden wedge booties from Aldo Shoes.
Volcom tee from PacSun and purple skirt (a little loose) from Forever 21.
Criss-cross ring: Forever 21. Bangles: a gift to my sister from China.
I love the peaceful colors in this outfit and these photos by Jo Photography bring out the feel perfectly with this beautiful lighting and setting.
I love pairing skirts with t-shirts because it tones them down and makes them more casual, which can make a particular skirt seem like an entirely different piece of clothing!
(I wore this same skirt here, where it has a very different, dressy feel)

Hope you are having a lovely week and are hopefully enjoying beautiful spring weather (and fashion) like I am!

photo diary: spring break.
3.26.2012

Spring has sprung and isn't it gorgeous?? I snapped this pic on campus at the University of Missouri - Columbia where I attend school :)
My mom recently came up to visit me at school and we painted pottery during her trip. She painted this adorable butterfly garden stone and I painted this vase, which I'm so excited to display!
As you can tell, I'm obsessed with coral (although the dress on the far right is red and white)! I recently snagged these cuties from Forever 21 at amazing prices. These will be perfect for work this summer.
Packing to go home for breaks is always a huge ordeal for me and I have major overpacking issues :( the life of a fashion addict I guess...
This is my doggie Lulu, a basset hound mix, and I snapped this as we were about to leave for break.
This past weekend, Trey, myself, and his younger brother TJ drove to Oklahoma City to go to the Thunder game. It was my first NBA game and I loved it. Here I'm wearing a simple tank and cardigan from Forever 21, and a cool turquoise feather necklace from Aldo Shoes.
The Thunder won in 2 overtimes! Talk about an exciting 1st NBA game...

I'll have a new outfit post coming to you sometime later this week! I love being home for breaks because I have more time to shoot photos and write new posts :)

Thanks for looking and reading ~ have a lovely week everyone!

Rose ring: Forever 21. Everything else is gifted, vintage, or my sister's.

Boots: ALDO Shoes.

Skirt: PacSun. Tank: Forever 21. Scarf: Britches Boutique in Columbia, Mo.
I've seen a lot of asymmetrical hemlines this spring and I love the trend! I think it's edgy but the light fabric makes them so pretty. I love when I can wear a trendy item without it being too much for "regular life," aka life in mid-Missouri.
I paired this outfit with a scarf and boots to make it more transitional, since it is still March and I'm sure we'll have a weather curveball thrown our way sometime soon. For summer I plan to style this skirt with sandals, a white or coral tank, statement earrings and natural, wavy hair
(a future outfit post perhaps?).

Sorry it's been so long since I've done an outfit post - midterms have had me swamped!
Thanks for reading...hope you enjoyed :)

photo diary: tidbits from this week.
3.11.2012

First of all, I need to apologize for my lack of posts lately! I am right in the middle of midterms right now, so my grades are having to take priority :( However, I did manage to snap a few pics and my mom came to visit this weekend, which was such a treat!
1.
I tried out a new nail trend for this spring and I am loving my nails right now! I saw something very similar on Pinterest last week and just had to try it! Nail colors are Revlon "Silver Dollar" and OPI "Rumple's Wiggin'."
2.
I finally caved and got Nike Frees, and let me tell you, the hype is for a reason! They are arguably the most comfortable thing you'll ever put on your feet. I also love that these are gray and purple - my favorite color combination :)
3.
I've been sick, so I've been drinking even more tea than usual. This is orange jasmine green tea in my very favorite mug from Anthropologie :)
4.
LuLu - the basset hound mix that my boyfriend and I adopted last fall. She is SO mischievous, but you can't help but fall for her spunk and the cutest little sleep face you'll ever see.
5.
I bought this adorable little incense holder last summer because I'm obsessed with elephants. I've found that incense and candles help me to be (slightly) less stressed while studying, so I've been burning them a lot lately!

A new outfit post will be coming as soon as I can get some photos!
Thanks for reading :)

photo diary: Instagram style.
3.04.2012

As my camera isn't working correctly right now, I've really been relying on my phone and my favorite app, Instagram, to capture my life's moments :)
1.
We actually had some warm, Spring-like weather in Missouri (we do actually have some lovely weather) and I got to break out my coral tennies from Urban Outfitters. These shoes remind me of my childhood!
2.
Blake Lively is one of my favorites! She is becoming a fashion icon, and is just too gorgeous. Needless to say, I just HAD to buy the March issue of ELLE Magazine (my favorite magazine) with Blake on the cover. I can't wait to read this as a reward for getting through all of my midterms!
3.
This past Thursday night I got to go see Drake perform in Kansas City with my boyfriend!
4.
I have been spending far more time than usual in business attire lately because I've been interviewing for internships (fingers crossed!). It's important to me to keep my limited business pieces fashionable, so I added color to these basic pieces with my coral purse from Aldo Shoes and added a little edge with these studded Aldo Pumps!

Follow me on Instagram @jacylenore! I'd love to find all of you on there as well :)
