I just want to thank each and every one of you for reading my blog this year. Whether you're a long time reader or friend, or just discovered my blog or Instagram recently, I can't tell you how much I appreciate your support and encouragement. Blogging takes hard work and dedication, especially on top of working full time, but it's something I love doing and continually find to be a rewarding experience. This year I got to work with many new brands and retailers including ASOS, Shopbop, American Eagle, Aerie and Marriott, and I learned a lot about photography to improve the quality of my posts.

Personally, I celebrated my one-year wedding anniversary with Trey, road tripped to California with family, including driving down Highway 1, took some fun weekend trips with my husband, did some remodeling projects on our house, and started teaching dance. It's been a full but happy year!

I am truly grateful for your support, through everything from clicking on my links to following along on social media to reading regularly and taking the time to leave an encouraging comment. You are truly the best! I wish you all a blessed and happy new year!

Nume wand

Favorite Beauty Finds

These are all must-try's in my book! Read on for details...

Nume Wand - I've watched so many hair tutorials by many of my favorite bloggers using these wands, so I've wanted to try one out for a long time. I have a great wand, but the barrel is on the smaller side, so I got the 32mm wand. It makes the prettiest loose waves! My hair is allllmost too short for it right now, so I'm looking forward to using it more and more as I grow my hair out (yes, I'm going to start growing it out - yikes). Right now they're running a deal where you can get any wand for $39.99 with the code DEC39, or I've discovered that you can use the code AMBERFILLERUP (my fav blogger - anyone else??) to get any wand for $25 (regular price $139+)!!

Origins Charcoal Mask - I got this as part of this holiday set (a great value) and it is ah-mazing. It truly clears out your pores and will leave your skin feeling so smooth afterward. I think it works just as well as the GlamGlow mask for much much less $$.

MAC blush in 'plum foolery' - I'm not one to use different blushes (I have worn the same exact one every day since I bought it in February), so I finally diversified and bought a more wintery color. This plum shade is so pretty for winter, is very buildable (don't worry-it's subtle), and lasts all day!

10 Songs I Can't Stop Listening To

I can't believe that it's not only the end of the month, but also the end of the year! These are just a few random things I've been loving lately...I hope you enjoyed! I didn't really buy any clothing for myself this month due to Christmas gifting, so I apologize for the lack of shopping/fashion content this time around. I'm sure I will be back to my old ways next month ;)

Tomorrow I'll be looking back over the past year and sharing my favorite outfits from 2015, so be sure to check back in!

Christmas Outfit Idea
12.23.2015

Vest: Target (more options here) | Sweater: Gap (similar)
Leggings: Zella | Boots: Steve Madden (available in all sizes + 20% off!)
Hat: ASOS | Bag: Marc by Marc Jacobs

We shot these photos in the courtyard of The Cheshire (more about our stay here), and I loved the ivy and English charm! This outfit is a bit more bold than what I typically wear, but I like to step things up for holiday gatherings, and I think a faux fur vest is perfect for Christmas. You can still be comfy but look glamorous at the same time ;)

I'm off to do my Christmas Eve/Christmas grocery shopping along with everyone else, so wish me luck!

St. Louis Getaway

This past weekend Trey and I got to go on a mini getaway to St. Louis (just a couple of hours from our town) to stay at The Cheshire, an English-inspired boutique hotel in one of my favorite areas of St. Louis. It was the perfect way to kick off our Christmas break! After checking in, we explored around Forest Park, The Delmar Loop, and the beautiful old homes around that area. For an early dinner we tried a few beers and split the nachos at Square One Brewery & Distillery, and it was crazy delicious. Then we took a quick walk through the Lafayette Square area to Clementine's, a naughty or nice ice cream shop where you can get boozy ice cream. Oh my gosh it was yummy. After a two-hour Ikea trip (I forgot to take cute pictures of anything we got), we did late night drinks and appetizers at the Fox and Hounds, an English pub located in The Cheshire! The next morning we enjoyed breakfast in bed (their breakfast is included with your stay - love that) + Starbucks (next door), before we headed out for blog pictures and another Ikea trip.

I want to thank The Cheshire for providing Trey and I with a wonderful stay and great food and drinks. Every staff member we met was so kind, and we loved the charming decor, rooms and grounds. All of their rooms and suites are named after English authors, an extra touch I thought was so cute. We told several locals that we met where we were staying and many of them mentioned that The Cheshire was one of their favorite hotels in St. Louis!

I hope all of your Christmas preparations are going smoothly! I spent all day yesterday painting our master bedroom, so hopefully today I can knock out my grocery shopping and present wrapping before the craziness and fun begin tomorrow.

Olive & Black
12.21.2015

Tunic sweater
Olive green
Olive green sweater
Comfy winter outfit
Black pom pom beanie
Long sweater with leggings
Tunic sweater + leggings
Sweater: June & Beyond Boutique (found online on this random site in black & cream here!
Leggings: Zella | Beanie: F21 (similar)
Sunnies: Karen Walker

Over the weekend, Trey and I got to go on an overnight trip to St. Louis (more on that tomorrow), but we got to do lots of fun things and explore together. I knew we would be doing a pretty big variety of stuff after sitting in the car for a few hours (and it was quite chilly), so I went with this extremely comfortable but cute look. I'm tall, so anytime I find a sweater that covers my bootie/that I can wear with leggings it's a really exciting moment. This is probably becoming my most-worn sweater, and I'm so excited I found it on that random site above because I may get it in black!

I hope you had a great weekend! I'm so excited to be off of work all week. We're hoping to tackle a few projects in our fixer upper :)

Weekend Casual
12.18.2015

Sweater: Free People (on sale here in 3 colors w/ extra 20% off! size down) | Coat: c/o ASOS
Leggings: Zella (highly recommend) | Sneakers: Nike

I wore this outfit the majority of last weekend because it was so stinkin comfortable and easy to throw on for dance rehearsals, cleaning, grocery shopping, etc. When I want to look semi put together but still wear lounge or workout wear my favorite trick it to pair an oversized sweater (just as comfy as a sweatshirt, but chicer) with all black. This sweater is one of the comfiest things I've ever worn and it's really long, so perfect to wear with leggings! It sold out super quickly from both Nordstrom and Shopbop, but I found it on sale here in 3 colors with an extra 20% off! I have a small and it's huge on me, so I would size down from your normal size (it will still be quite oversized & long).

Today is my last day at work for a couple of weeks (*insert praise hands emoji), and tomorrow Trey and I are off to a little getaway! Be sure to follow along on my Instagram to see where we're headed :)

PS - today (12/17) is the last day to shop the Shopbop surprise sale, where you can get an extra 25% off of sale items with the code BONUS15!

Fringe
12.17.2015

Sweater: H&M (wearing size small; also love this & this w/ fringe) | Jacket: ASOS
Lips: MAC 'velvet teddy'

This sweater has definitely already paid for itself because I wear it all. the. time. in a variety of ways (including in this post)! That's the beauty of cream...you can wear it with brown/tan/taupe tones or with all black, and then of course with colors like burgundy and olive green as well.

I ordered this adorable fringe sweater yesterday (worn on Brooke of Somewhere, Lately here) and can't wait to get it! I think it will be similarly easy to style. Plus, you can still order from H&M today with free shipping (use code 3277) and get your order by Christmas!
