Pre-Winter Layers
10.30.2015

Coat: c/o ASOS (TTS, wearing size small) | Sweater: c/o ASOS (also worn in this post)
Jeans: Articles of Society (TTS) |  Flats: Steve Madden (TTS + come in 5 colors)
Necklace: c/o Lydell NYC

I've been looking for a new black coat for ages, but didn't want a traditional peacoat. This one has more of a simple cocoon coat shape, and I love it - especially at only $63! While it's obviously not as warm as my down parka, it really is surprisingly warm, and has room for layers underneath. I also don't feel claustrophobic in it like I do in most coats since the fabric is soft and the coat doesn't feel constricting. As you've probably picked up on if you've read my blog for awhile, ASOS is one of my favorite places to shop online (I browse their site multiple times per week), and they have sooooo many amazing coats and jackets as part of their Luxe Layers campaign this season. I seriously have so many in my cart and already bought my faux leather jacket from there this fall too!

I hope you have a great weekend and Happy Halloween! We live in a prime trick-or-treating neighborhood so I can't wait to see all of the cute kiddos in their costumes! I don't even want to add up how much I've spent on candy already - but it's very much worth it :) Also, I desperately need a good last-minute costume idea (because I'm the world's worst procrastinator) - so send some ideas my way!

This Month's Favorites
10.29.2015

Welcome to the second edition of This Month's Favorites, my monthly series covering all of my favorite things from the month.... A great opportunity to reflect on the good things and look forward to the new month!

Favorite Purchase

These over-the-knee boots by Steve Madden still available here. Mine are actually the 'taupe' (weird lighting - check out this post for truer color) and I went down 1/2 size. They're so good for the price! (Full outfit post here)

Favorite Fall Lipstick

MAC liner in 'whirl' + lipstick in 'velvet teddy'

Favorite Beauty Discovery

I had been struggling with my newly blonde hair turning brassy, but Clairol Shimmer Lights has kept my blonde cool and light! It is a little drying, so I've been using another conditioner after the Shimmer Lights one, and using the set only 3 out of every 4 washes.

Favorite Outfit Post(s)

I couldn't pick between the two. Check out the full posts for outfit details here & here.

Favorite Healthy Recipe

This vegan-friendly smoothie bowl that's simple, nutritious, and tastes better than dessert.

Serving size: 1 bowl
 1 cup spinach
1 cup vanilla almond milk (I use the unsweetened)
*blend*
1/2 frozen banana
1 1/2 cups frozen berries (you can use any berries, but I usually use a mixed bag)
1-2 teaspoons agave
*blend & pour into a bowl (will be thick). Then, simply top with whatever you'd like! I like fresh berries or slices of banana, chia seeds, granola or even chopped almonds.

Favorite Songs

On repeat these days! Not included but listening to an embarrassing amount: "Sorry" by Justin Bieber.

Favorite New (to me) Instagram to Follow

@scoutfashion - cutest little mother/daughter blogging duo. My dad has called me Scout most of my life (after Scout Finch in 'To Kill a Mockingbird') so that name is already special to me and this little girl will seriously steal your heart!

Favorite Moment

Pulling over in a parking lot and capturing this sunset with my best friend last weekend.

Thank you so much for reading! I hope you're enjoying this series (find last month's here), and as always, please let me know if there are any topics you would like to see! Also, if you have an idea for a last minute Halloween costume for me, comment below or tweet me! ;)

Mini Dress, Tall Boots
10.28.2015

Mini dress with OTK boots
Dress with tall boots
Steve Madden "Gorgeous" over-the-knee boots
Little black fall dress
Zara canteen bag
Mini dress + tall boots
Dress: c/o Chicwish (still available in white (FYI - unlined!), or love this similar dress)
Boots: Steve Madden
Bag: Zara | Hat: Forever 21 (similar)

This is one of my favorite blog outfits, probably ever. I just love the pairing of a mini dress with OTK boots - so flattering! And fun. If you haven't checked out these boots yet, I highly recommend them! They're a really good price for over-the-knee boots, come in 3 colors, and in my opinion are very slimming and elongating. I went half a size down and mine fit perfectly!

This evening I get to shoot some themed looks with an amazing local photographer, so make sure to follow me on Instagram to catch a sneak peek tonight!

Burgundy
10.27.2015

Every fall and winter I look forward to wearing burgundy and adding more to my closet. It's such a pretty, flattering color, and pairs beautifully with so many other colors and neutrals. See how I styled it with lighter neutrals in this post last week.
In addition to the collage above, I've gathered a bunch of my favorite burgundy, wine and oxblood finds so that you don't have to dig around as much :) I love online shopping far more than in-store shopping, but it can definitely be time consuming to find exactly what you want!

How are you planning/wanting to wear this color this season?

Bell Sleeves
10.26.2015

Top: c/o ASOS (on sale!) | Jeans: Zara (sold out, but just ordered these)
Heels H&M (old, love these & these) | Bag: Vince
Sunnies: Ray-ban on loan from Ditto - use code LOVELENORE for a free
month subscription to designer sunglasses!
Sometimes I like an ultra-simple look just as much as a more layered or accessorized one. I really like the unique bell sleeves on this top (also comes in black), and the fabric is so soft and drape-y.

Did you do anything fun or special this weekend?? My weekend flew by because I was so busy (ugh), but I got a lot done and got to see some friends, so it's all good. I just feel like I need a day off from my weekend! :)

Thanks for stopping by!

Restyled
10.23.2015

Jacket: c/o Lookbook Store | Dress: June & Beyond Boutique (similar here)
Ankle Boots: old; nearly identical | Bag: Zara

These are all pieces that I've worn on the blog before (dress last seen in this post), but I wanted to share this fresh way to restyle them. I love this jacket because it seems to go with pretty much everything!

This is definitely one of those TGIF weeks. This work week has been exceptionally draining, so I'm really looking forward to hanging out with Trey and also getting to shoot some pictures of my best friend and her fiance!

Have a fantastic weekend!

Fall Accessories
10.22.2015

Fall accessories are some of my favorite pieces to shop for because they play such an important role in mixing and matching your staple jeans and sweaters all fall and winter long. Below I've rounded up some of my favorite accessories finds lately! Even though I have a boatload of scarves I want a couple more oversized neutral scarves to round out my collection, and I'm also currently trying to make up my mind on which pair of black leather booties to order. If you see something you like, simply click the image to shop!

Happy shopping!

Longline Cardigans
10.21.2015

Longline Cardigan
Black felt hat
Long cardigan
Layered fall outfit
Red lips for fall
Long cardigan layered over jeans and a tank
Long cardigan for fall
Sweater: F21 (similar here, here) | Tank: Topshop
Jeans: AG (went down 1 size) | Heels: Aldo
Bag: Marc by Marc Jacobs | Hat: Forever 21 (similar)
Necklace: CC Skye | Lipstick: MAC 'ruby woo'
I love love love long cardigans because they add a unique, slightly edgier flare to your outfit and I feel like they make a bit of a statement as well (while still being super cozy and comfy). I've already worn this one so many times and ways this fall (two being here and here) that it's already easily paid for itself, and I know I'll wear it all winter as well. Sadly mine sold out, but I'm sharing some of my favorite finds below in case you want to get your hands on the style!

Sleeveless Turtleneck
10.20.2015

Casual fall outfit
Sleeveless turtleneck
Marc by Marc Jacobs Too Hot to Handle Hobo Bag
Fall date night outfit
Long sweater with over the knee boots
Sleeveless turtleneck sweater
Cream turtleneck sweater
Sleeveless sweater with OTK boots
Sweater: c/o Asos (absolutely love! so soft & flattering) | Jeans: H&M
Boots: Steve Madden here & here | Bag: Marc by Marc Jacobs
Sunnies: Karen Walker ('deep freeze')

I got to wear so many new goodies together in this outfit, and it's one of my favorites so far this fall! I've been looking for the perfect sleeveless turtleneck sweater and am so happy with this one, especially for the price (on sale for $27). This was the perfect outfit for the sunny but cool weather this weekend, and I simply threw on a leather jacket once it cooled off in the evening.

I also received 2 of 3 Shopbop sale purchases over the weekend, and as you can see, I had to wear my new Karen Walker sunnies and Marc by Marc Jacobs bag right away! Not surprisingly, the quality of both is supreme and I'm really happy I decided to save up for both pieces. I always want to keep the focus on affordable fashion on here, but at the same time I do value investing in key pieces from time-to-time.
