This Month's Favorites
9.30.2015

I'm going to start a new series on here where at the end of each month I share some of my favorite things I've discovered, worn, purchased and learned throughout the month! The topics will probably change a bit from month-to-month, but I think it will be a great way to reflect on life (because it really does fly by) as well as share more of what I love!

Quick and Easy Vegetarian Pita Pizza

Favorite New Recipe

Quick Pita Pizzas [Vegetarian]

Serving size: 1 person
Cook on a cookie sheet at 425 for 10 minutes
  • 2 pitas
  • a couple of spoonfuls of pizza sauce spread over the pitas
  • shredded mozzarella
  • 1 diced roma tomato
  • any other veggies you want! I sometimes add sliced mushrooms like above, as well as onions, bell peppers, banana peppers and more
  • a sprinkle or two of garlic salt and black pepper
  • bake at 425 on a cookie sheet for 10 minutes
  • cut fresh basil over the top & enjoy!
I kind of came up with this idea myself (a small miracle) and found a bit of guidance online with cooking time and temp, but I think I can actually claim this recipe as my own! It's sooooo yummy! And a very simple, light, quick dinner. This time of year, Trey has football practice or games pretty much every night, so a few nights a week I'm on my own for dinner. I had to come up with some ideas that were easy to cook for just one person (because I'm not going to go to a lot of work for just myself). This is what I keep coming back to!

MAC lipsticks and Almay primer

Favorite Beauty Finds

Almay Smart Shade CC Luminous Primer && MAC Lipsticks in 'Velvet Teddy' and 'Pink Plaid'

This primer - oh my goodness it's fantastic! I've tried a boatload of high-end primers trying to find one that would help even my skin tone and help my makeup stay longer. I picked this one up on a whim at Wal-mart and haven't used my previous favorite since. It helps my foundation and concealer stay in place, improves the appearance and smoothness of my skin underneath my makeup, is SPF 15, and hasn't made me breakout! At around $10 it really can't be beat. Just give it a couple of minutes to sink in before applying foundation!

I also picked up a couple of new MAC lipstick colors a couple of weeks ago and love them both! 'Pink Plaid' is a really pretty light pink that adds some color to your lips and face but is subtle enough to wear on a daily basis and in the office. 'Velvet Teddy' is one that I had wanted forever and finally tried and it's what I've been wearing nearly every day and in all of my outfit posts lately! The girl at the MAC counter sold me on pairing it with the liner in 'Whirl' and they are the bomb.com together. It's a brown-nude and is so flattering. Trey even noticed it and loved it ;)

Striped Dress
9.29.2015

Dress: June & Beyond Boutique (can order over the phone (only $35 & TTS!), or similar here)
Ankle Boots: Aldo | Bag: Vince
Hat: Sole Society (similar) |  Chambray Shirt: old F21 (similar)
Lips: MAC liner in 'whirl' + lipstick in 'velvet teddy'

I picked up this dress at a local boutique the other day (love June & Beyond!) and it's exactly what I've been looking for for ages! I love any dress that's effortless and can be worn a ton of different ways, and a striped shift dress is the epitome of that concept. I already have multiple other outfits planned with this dress, so I'm sure you'll be seeing more of it in the future :)

On another note, you may have noticed or seen on my Instagram or Snapchat (jacylenore) that I went blonder the other day! I had my hair dark for probably 5-6 years, so it's been quite exciting to have a change. You can't see with my hat, but we went darker at the roots to give better contrast with the blonde and to cool down the tone of my hair , and I looooove how it turned out.

Olive Green Skinnies

Olive Green Pants
Top: Lush via Nordstrom (runs big, wearing size XS) | Skinnies: c/o Articles of Society (TTS)
Heels: Target (similar here, here) | Bag: Zara

I love a simple but chic outfit, and these olive green skinnies are the perfect way to add a little bit of interest to a simple look. They're also so soft and stretchy!

In other news, our weekend was pretty chill - just what I needed! I finally caught up on laundry, went through a bunch of clothes, worked in the yard, watched some football with Trey and snuggled with my doggies :)

Military-Inspired Jacket
9.25.2015

Jacket: c/o Lookbook Store (seriously obsessed! and just $33) | Tank: Nordstrom
Shorts: Rag & Bone | Shoes: Aldo
Bag: ZaraSunnies: Karen Walker
Bracelet: Margaret Elizabeth | Necklace: CC Skye

I've wanted a military-inspired jacket for as long as I can remember. Like, we're talking a few years here. For some reason I never bought one, but I recently got this one from Lookbook Store and I'm obsessed! It's been really warm here all week yet I've still worn this multiple times because #itsfall. Paired with shorts it's the perfect transitional look, and I think this is one of my favorite outfits ever actually!

I can't believe it's already Friday! Most weeks I count down the days but I was so busy with work and other things this week that it's flown by. Tonight Trey's football team, which is 5-0, is playing another undefeated (and state ranked) team, so I'm excited for that and keeping my fingers crossed all day! Other than that we don't have many plans and I'm perfectly alright with that :)

Have a great weekend!

Fall Favorites Under $50
9.24.2015

Transitioning to a new season can definitely get pricey, especially for fall and winter considering you need higher ticket items like boots and jackets. I've been focusing on building up my basics with items like distressed jeans, a [faux] leather jacket, and ankle boots, but I've been sadly neglecting other areas - tops, sweaters and other fall pieces. With not a lot of budget left I've been keeping my eye out for great tops and sweaters at affordable prices. So I've gathered some of my favorite fall transition pieces that are under $50! Now to decide which ones to get...

How to Style a Romper for Fall [Part 2]
9.23.2015

Romper: H&M (similar here, here) | Blazer: H&M (similar)
Heels: H&M (similar here and here) | Bag: Vince
Jewelry is all via Rocksbox, where you can use the code 'lovelenorexoxo' to

Lips: MAC liner in 'whirl' + lipstick in 'velvet teddy'

Yesterday I shared one way to style my basic black romper for fall, and today here is another way! Throwing a blazer on top honestly works for summer too, but it's so hot here in the summers that I don't really pull out my blazers until the fall.

This is random, but I'm finally getting my hair done again today and I'm so excited! I feel like the countdown to a hair appointment goes by sooo slow every time. I've decided I'm going to keep going blonder because I like the blonde so far, but I just need to get rid of the weird warm brown that's awkwardly lingering! If you have any tips to get rid of brassiness send them my way! I've been using a purple shampoo and conditioner and it does seem to be helping. We'll see how it goes this evening!

PS - I found these amazing Stuart Weitzman dupes yesterday! Most sizes are already sold out at Nordstrom, but I found them here, here and here (20% off w/ code 'EXTRA') in all sizes. What's your vote - taupe or gray?? I can't decide!

How to Style a Romper for Fall [Part 1]
9.21.2015

Cardigan: Forever 21 (similar here, here) | Romper: H&M (similar here, here)
Ankle boots: Aldo |  Bag: Zara
Necklace: CC Skye via Rocksbox (use code 'lovelenorexoxo' for a free month of jewelry!)
Lips: MAC liner in 'whirl' + lipstick in 'velvet teddy'

I picked up this simple black romper before our California trip this summer and have gotten so much wear out of it! I've worn it as a beach and lake coverup, casually with sandals and a hat, and even dressed up with heels on our anniversary weekend when I forgot to bring my nicer dress (yes, I was pissed). But, I wanted to figure out a couple of ways to transition it into fall (the other look will be tomorrow). I'm totally in fall mode at this point, but it's still pretty dang warm here, so I've been getting creative with styling my summer pieces in a fresh way with a fall spin. In this case, simply adding a duster cardigan and ankle boots give my romper a totally new feel.

Black and White Tunic
9.20.2015

Tunic: c/o Chicwish | Jeans: Zara
Heels: H&M (old, similar here, here)
Necklace: Kendra Scott | Bracelet: Margaret Elizabeth

I just love a good tunic. They're great to pull out on those not-so-great tummy days, or don't-know-what-to-wear days. I loooove the pretty stitching on this one, and I want to style this with dark wash denim and ankle boots too.

I was so excited to find these black distressed jeans for just $26! They're more like jeggings, but that makes them so comfy since they're stretchy. I love the slits at the knees, and you can't see with my heels, but they have a frayed hem at the ankles - love.

I hope you all had a great weekend! I completely lost my voice due to a cold/sinus issues so I've been awkwardly whispering all weekend and croaked my way through teaching a couple of ballet classes haha. I guess now is a good time to share that I've started teaching dance (after a several year break) a few hours a week! Dance was pretty much my life for so many years, so I'm happy to be involved in it again, even if it's just teaching some little kiddos :)

Olive/Army/Khaki Green
9.18.2015

By now it's no secret that I'm obsessed with olive green (and its close counterparts army + khaki green). I really always have been, but it's especially 'in' this year so I'm happy as can be and buying it up like crazy. I find it flattering with all skin tones and hair colors, and I like that it helps make my green eyes pop a bit. It also pairs just like a neutral - with white, cream, beige/tan, cognac, denim blues, and even black, gray and blush.

I've actually worn variations of this color in 3 posts the last couple of weeks (here, here and here) and just got this jacket and these skinnies and love them! Next I'm eyeing this sweater, this henley, and loving these heels.

Have a great weekend and thanks for reading!

Sleeveless Trench
9.17.2015

Trench: c/o Lookbook Store | Tank: LOFT
Jeans: Topshop via Nordstrom (similar on sale & in more sizes) | Heels: Target (similar here, here)
Bag: 3.1 Phillip Lim for Target (love this and this) | Sunnies: Ray-ban

So sorry for my absence yesterday... I had a migraine that lasted over 24 hours and looking at a computer screen basically made me want to cry, SO as you saw on my snapchat yesterday (un: jacylenore), I ended up spending most of the day in bed and on the couch with my doggies. The headache part was miserable of course, but it was also weirdly nice to just do nothing. If you have any migraine tricks I would love to know them! My aunt has a combo of things she takes when she gets one, which usually helps me, but yesterday it didn't help at all.

Now onto my outfit... I love this slightly edgier take on the classic trench! I mentioned in a post last week that I've never owned a trench coat and for some reason have a total mental block with styling them. I chose this long vest from Lookbook Store a) because we all know by now how much I love olive green, and b) because I wanted to push myself with my styling. I love a style challenge and having the opportunity to wear something really unique. I think this would look so cute layered over a blouse or lightweight sweater with regular denim as well. It's definitely a fun piece!

Boho Fall Dress

Fall dress with lace details
Dress: c/o Chicwish (also comes in white) | Booties: Aldo
Bag: Zara (also love this one) | Necklace: Kendra Scott
Bracelet: Margaret Elizabeth | Lips: MAC 'whirl' liner + 'velvet teddy' lipstick

As soon as I tried on this dress I knew exactly how I wanted to style it - I just needed the right shoes! I've been eyeing these booties from my fall ankle boot guide for weeks and weeks and finally got them over the weekend. Let me just say that they are amazing! I'm so excited to wear them with jeans once it cools off again. As for my dress... how gorgeous are the delicate lace details? I love the swingy, oversized fit, and think it will be cute over skinny jeans with heels as well. One thing to note... it unfortunately isn't lined, so it's a bit see-through. I didn't want to wait on a slip to shoot this look, but I'm thinking of buying something like this.
