Denim Mini
8.31.2015

Tee: J.Crew Factory (old; want these tees here & here) | Skirt: c/o SheIn
Bag: Zara (obsessed) | Sandals: Target (old; similar)
Sunnies: Karen Walker | Bracelet: Loren Hope

So let's talk all of this 70s trend business... I'm obsessed! I've always loved 70s-inspired style and in fact in the days before Pinterest, I would save street style and runway photos into photo albums on my computer, and I always had so much 70s inspiration mixed in. I know we've all seen a ton of these little denim minis, and to be honest I never thought I would be wearing a denim mini skirt beyond high school, but I love the a-line cut and button-front of this style (oh, and the $12 price tag)!

I also just got this bag from Zara, and it's amazing! After being obsessed with the Chloe 'marcie' and 'drew' bags since they came out, I was set on finding the perfect budget canteen-style bag for fall. I'm so happy I decided on this one because the size is perfect and I'm so impressed with the quality.

Also, tonight I'm hosting a little Chloe + Isabel online pop-up party and I would love for you to join me! I just got a few of their pieces and I've been wearing them pretty much every day, so I wanted to host a party and share my favorites with you. In addition to shopping, my friend Amy and I will be chatting with everyone, posting style tips, hosting games, and possibly even some giveaways! It will be from 7-8pm CST tonight (8/31) at this link (you can join the group anytime today though)! I hope to see you there :)

Chloe + Isabel ring (I've worn it every day since I got it!)

Camouflage
8.28.2015

Dress: H&M (similar) | Jacket: LOFT (on sale + extra 50% off! I have an XS)
Flats: Franco Sarto (want these) | Hat: Forever 21 (only $12!)
Bag: Vince | Sunnies: Ray-ban c/o Ditto (use code 'lovelenore' for a free month subscription!)

You are probably wondering why the heck I named this post 'camouflage' when I am not wearing an ounce of camo. Well, that's an excellent question... I was trying to find a couple of new spots to shoot yesterday evening and came across this simple white wall with nice light. Sounds great, right? It totally is...minus the fact that my dress just blends right into it. Like pretty much disappears. If you follow me on Snapchat (username = jacylenore) you probably saw a photo I was going to use but that ultimately didn't make the cut because you couldn't even see that I had boobs. I mean, mine are minimal to begin with, but they literally vanished into the wall. Still love the photo location... But I think I'll save it for darker outfits ;)

As for what you can see of my outfit... It's still pretty dang warm here but I'm mentally moving onto fall clothes. This simple cotton dress is great for warmer temps, but by adding lots of black, a wool hat, and close-toed shoes it feels quite transitional, yes? If it was cooler I would actually wear the denim jacket, but as of right now it's being used solely in overly air conditioned establishments.

Anyways, thanks for putting up with my weird chitter-chatter, and have a fantastic weekend!

Best of Ankle Boots
8.27.2015

Ankle boots are probably my favorite type of shoe (other than heels). I love that they're a way to casually wear a heel without a bunch of people commenting how tall you are in heels or asking why you're so dressed up (anyone else get annoyed by these remarks after awhile? haha). Flat ankle boots are growing on me too though...I used to not love them, but I bought a pair of Chelsea-style boots last year that changed my mind.

I know it's a little early to really be thinking about fall/winter footwear, but ankle boots are one of my favorite ways to transition to fall (they look adorable with dresses and skirts). I also like to start shopping for a new season before everyone else so that I have a wider selection to choose from! I hate when you fall in love with something but it's already sold out in your size, so I usually shop early for shoes because they're what I'm most picky about.

These range in price from $35-130, but most are under $100. I'm all for cheap shoes, but I've found that when it comes to ankle boots, spending a little more makes a huge huge difference. I definitely recommend buying a quality pair because they'll hold up when you want to wear them all fall, winter and spring :)

Thanks so much for reading! And if you've found a tan/beige/greige pair of suede booties that you absolutely love, let me know what they are!

B/W Floral
8.26.2015

Top: c/o Lookbook Store (sold out :( love this one though!) | Shorts: Levi's (on sale here in limited sizes)
Bag: Vince | Hat: Sole Society (identical) | Sandals: Steve Madden (similar)

First of all... I feel so bad that this top already sold out before I could get this post up! It's really stinkin' cute, isn't it? Sorry ladies! You may have noticed that I've posted a few things from Lookbook Store recently, and I think that it's such a cute and affordable site! I have quite the wish list going on there.

I'm going to keep this post short and sweet because it's been quite the work week and I'm really lacking any creative juices at the moment. But, let's all stop and take a deep breath of gratitude because we're halfway-ish through the work week!

Some cute off-the-shoulder tops that will transition nicely into fall...

I always love a chance to step outside of my comfort zone and take a bit of a style risk or do something different...and this gorgeous wrap maxi skirt was the perfect opportunity to style an effortless bohemian look.

Boyfriend Shorts
8.23.2015

Top: Forever 21 (similar) | Shorts: Rag & Bone (love this option for $30)
Sandals: H&M (similar) | Bag: H&M (similar)
Bracelet: Loren Hope | Lipstick: MAC 'hot gossip'

I LOVE the look of boyfriend shorts and boyfriend jeans. However, I haven't delved into that world much because the right fit is so hard to find. But, I finally committed to getting the Rag & Bone boyfriend shorts and I'm obsessed! I was worried I'd be basically the only girl in the world that they wouldn't be flattering on, but as soon as I tried them on I instantly felt slimmer and chicer ;) I know they're ridiculously expensive for a pair of shorts, but I plan to make them last for several years and know I will get a ton of wear out of them.

Trey's football team won their first game of the season, so that was a happy start to the weekend! Then we finally got some time off to recharge, and I took full advantage by watching way too many episodes of Parenthood! I'm seriously addicted!

PS - please ignore my crazy frizzy + windblown hair. The wind was blowing like crazy and I basically had to pick pictures based off of my hair not blowing completely across my face! haha

White Tunic
8.21.2015

Tunic: c/o Lookbook Store (sold out; similar here, here) | Shorts: Levi's (purchased on sale here)
Sandals: Target (similar) | Bag: H&M (similar)
Sunnies: 3.1 Phillip Lim via Ditto (use code LOVELENORE for a free month!)
Bracelet: Margaret Elizabeth | Lips: MAC 'hot gossip'

I've been all about white tops this year, especially white tunics. They're so fresh feeling and I love how versatile they can be! Because this top is really voluminous, I paired it with shorter cutoffs and heeled sandals to elongate the legs and compensate proportionally. (PS - these shorts are the best!)

Also, the sunglasses I'm wearing here are on loan from Ditto. They're a new-to-me company I've been using and for $19/month you can 'rent' from a huge collection of designer sunglasses! I'm super picky about how sunglasses look on me, so I'm always really nervous to buy a new pair, but this way I can try a bunch out and decide what my next investment pair will be! They have amazing brands... Prada, Karen Walker, Ray-ban, Illesteva and a ton more, so I'm really enjoying it so far. You can use the code 'LOVELENORE' to try out a free month if you're interested!

Girls Weekend
8.20.2015

This past weekend my college bestie, Ashley, and I got to have a little girls weekend in St. Louis to celebrate the opening of the Marriott St. Louis Grand Hotel (freshly renovated and transformed from its previous identity)! We had fun shooting photos in the beautiful spaces, so this post is a bit photo-heavy, but I'll share some highlights of what we got to do + a few travel recommendations at the end :)

The hotel offers mobile check-in which is so convenient when you're traveling,
especially because we had to check in fairly late on Friday night!
^^Locally sourced snacks from 8th St. Pantry waiting for us in our room :)
^^ The Crystal Ballroom in the hotel. Absolutely breathtaking!

^^ Breakfast with bloggers Emily of Isn't That Charming and Danielle of The Cubicle Chick

Snacking = what I do best. I still have several 8th St. Pantry goodies to munch on this week :)
Outfits:
Breakfast look: Forever 21 top (similar) | Rag & Bone shorts (went down 1 size) | H&M sandals (similar) | Bag: H&M (similar)

Saturday outfit: H&M top (can't find online but love this top) | Levi's shorts (TTS) | Target sandals (similar) | Karen Walker sunnies

Dinner look: Zaful dress c/o (shown in this post) | Steve Madden heels (similar here & here) | Vince bag

Final outfit (shown in this post): SheIn dress c/o | Target sandals (similar) | H&M bag (similar here & here)

Ashley is a middle school art teacher and as you all know I'm the communications director for a school district, so it was so perfect to slip away for a fun girls weekend before the school year gets crazy! The Marriott St. Louis Grand Hotel hosted us and it was so pretty! They just completed a huge renovation, so all of the rooms are beautiful and have modern decor (definitely took away some inspiration), and they just switched to their new name this week. We got to meet a couple of other bloggers at brunch in their Zenia Bar and Grille restaurant (so stinkin delicious), and then had dinner there that night as well (I highly recommend the scallops pictured above). They also have an area called the Great Room with a really impressive bar set-up, as well as 8th St. Pantry where you can pick up drinks and snacks from local companies. We definitely took advantage of this and got a late-night pizza to munch on in our room Saturday night :) We spent about half of the weekend busy and exploring and the other half completely relaxing at the hotel because our room was honestly so pretty and those Marriott beds...cannot be beat. We could even log into our own Netflix and Hulu Plus accounts, so I may or may not have continued the Parenthood bender I'm on at the moment :)

Other than relaxing at the hotel, we spent some time exploring downtown St. Louis, which despite living just a few hours away, I wasn't very familiar with. The hotel is right on Washington Ave, which is such a cute area full of restaurants (with adorable patios), bars and pubs, and other eclectic businesses. On Saturday afternoon we ventured out to City Museum, and I don't even know how to describe it, but I can't wait to take my kiddos someday! We also happened across a little pop-up boutique called Rack & Clutch (St. Louis' first fashion truck), where I picked up some adorable jewelry. Saturday night after dinner and drinks at the hotel we went bowling down the street at Flamingo Bowl, which is the cutest little retro bowling alley! Sunday after relaxing in our room over coffee we went to a Cardinals game (I'm a Royals fan, but it was still fun) before heading back home!

Aside from all of the fun activities, my favorite things about the weekend were a) spending time with Ashley, b) the view from our room, and c) the spectacular Crystal Ballroom at the hotel. The ballroom has been around since 1917, and its 20th story views were ridiculously beautiful. There was a wedding in there on Saturday (that I really wanted to crash), but on Sunday morning we got to sneak up there to capture a few photos, and I didn't want to leave that space. The light, draperies, and architectural detail were stunning!

Thank you so much to the Marriott St. Louis Grand Hotel for the wonderful weekend! I can honestly say that I will be staying there again because everything - decor, staff, food, location - was absolutely lovely.

Jacy
