This past Saturday we held my little bachelorette bash and it was so fun! I'm not much of a party girl and really was looking for some great girl time with my best friends, so we had an awesome, low key night! We first got pedicures at my favorite nail salon (True Beauty in Springfield - a must!), then ate at a fun Mexican restaurant downtown (Maria's has the best margaritas), then went back to my parents' for chocolate fondu + wine. It was lovely!

I hunted for weeks and weeks for my bachelorette party dress. I was really good and didn't buy anything new for either of my bridal showers, so this was the perfect excuse to buy something fun! I didn't want anything tight or too short, but still wanted something a bit 'hot' and unique. After frustrating weeks of online shopping, I finally found this number at Dillards the week of! Sometimes you really can't beat actually shopping in-store.

Thank you to my wonderful friends and sis for putting this together and coming to celebrate with me! Here are some snapshots from the night:

En route to pedis!

Starbucks stop! Because of course...

But first, let me take a selfie...

Of course I had to capture my outfit as an #OOTD

Gorgeous bridesmaids in pink!! They put my party together and it was just fabulous!

Pretty sister (Tess) :)

If I didn't have a sister, she would be my maid of honor ;) Love my Haley!

My college bestie miss Ashley. This girl is an incredible friend!

Our wonderful friend Sarah! She has already been a huge help pulling last minute details together this week.

And last, but certainly not least, my wonderful friend (and wedding photographer) Jo! This girl is as true as they come.

All my girls! Loved our colorful attire :)

Check back later this week to see our engagement photos! Thanks for reading!

Wedding Week | Bridal Showers
7.21.2014

Happy Monday! As if you haven't already heard me talk about this enough, I'm getting married this week!! Saturday is the big day, so needless to say, this week will be a whirlwind (but a fun one). As promised, this week I'll be sharing some different wedding posts: my bridal showers (today), bachelorette party, and engagement photos. Post-wedding I'll do posts with all of the little details (jewelry, veil, mani, etc.), save-the-dates + invites, and of course, wedding photos!

Today I'm sharing about my bridal showers! I had two - one in Springfield where I'm from, and one in Lebanon, my new place of residence.

My first shower was held at my parent's house and my sister/maid of honor, mom and best friend (my other bridesmaid) threw it for me! It was a beautiful party that I shared with many close family friends.

A gorgeous centerpiece my sister put together with roses, glittered mason jars + candles, and framed engagement photos.

My bridesmaids! Haley on the left has been my best friend since we were freshmen in high school, and my sister Tessa is on the right.

This is my wonderful friend, Ashley, who drove down the night before the shower to help us decorate! She is an art teacher and is amazing at creating decor.

My full outfit for the shower!
Crop top: Forever 21 (in store | love this one) | Skirt: boutique find (similar)
Heels: Target (similar here & here) | Sash: Etsy (great shop with fully customizable sashes! mine was light pink with gold glitter ('future mrs. overstreet'))

The delicious brunch my mom put together! So light and colorful.

Another beautiful centerpiece by my sister!

These aren't the best photos, but we decorated around the house with pink pom poms, lights, and delicate coral + metallic gold garlands (found here)!

It was such a fun experience and I felt so loved!

My Lebanon shower was thrown by my soon-to-be sister-in-law Lesley, mother-in-law JoAnn, and a few other close friends. Trey is from Lebanon and nearly all of his family is there, but I've only lived here around a month or so! Despite that, I have already made so many wonderful friends and absolutely love all of Trey's family. It's a smaller town than I ever thought I would live in, but I love the close sense of community here.

  The darling little drink station!

The most incredible and beautiful spread of treats!

How stinkin cute are these pettifors?? My [almost] mother-in-law JoAnn is incredible at baking and cake decorating, and she and Trey's brother's girlfriend, Hannah, decorated these!

I also thought this idea was precious!

A treasured photo with my [almost] nieces and nephew. I love these kids with all of my heart!

This is our very dear friend Sarah! She swims with my sister at Drury University and is from Australia. She's become like another sister to us! She was back home during my first shower, so I was so happy she got to be here for my second one.

And last but not least, my beautiful sister and maid of honor, Tessa! I truly don't know what I would do without her.

I hope you enjoyed my snapshots of my bridal showers! I had such a blast and loved the 'girliness' of it all! I cannot believe the wedding is nearly here, and am so excited to become a Mrs.

Thanks for reading, and check back for more wedding bliss all week! ;)

Honeymoon Wish List + Nordstrom Sale
7.18.2014

Sandals (run small - size up 1/2 size) | Lip Gloss | Swing Dress
Bracelets: Lily and Laura (handmade by women in Nepal - found here & here online, purchased locally at Staxx & 5 Pound Apparel)

My wish list and shopping purchases this month have all been wedding or honeymoon related! We're spending most of our honeymoon in NYC, so I've been buying lots of fun things to wear there that I might not normally wear in a small town in Missouri ;) I can't wait to share all of my outfits with you from my trip, but they'll include the lace romper above, that amazing swing dress, the striped cami, crop tops with skater skirts and high-waisted shorts, and lots of sandals and cross body bags. I wanted fun, cute things that were also functional for hot weather and lots of walking around the city (cannot wait to explore). In additional the adorable studded sandals above, I also bought these crazy comfy gladiator sandals that are super on sale right now. To top off my outfits I'll add low key extras like my bundles of Lily and Laura beaded bracelets (perfect for layering with other things) and an easier-than-lipstick tinted gloss.

-------

I also wanted to share that the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale kicked off to the public today! This is Nordstrom's biggest sale of the year where they place new fall and pre-fall merch on crazy discount. I've shared my favorites from the sale below, and you'll notice that many of them are higher-ticket items that I normally share on my [poor girl] blog. However, this sale is a good time to buy quality investment pieces you've been eying for awhile (for me, probably some black riding boots).

#Sore | Activewear
7.15.2014

Tank: c/o Bloom Studio Market - Etsy | Leggings: Nike (found here and here)
Tennies: Nike Air Max Thea (almost out in this color, but more cute colors available)

Today I'm so excited to share one of my new favorite Etsy shops with you! Bloom Studio Market sells the cutest little workout-inspired tanks with all kinds of clever graphics ("buck furpees," "oh my quad," and "meet me at the barre" to name a few). This shop was started by a dear blogging/social media friend, the lovely Lily Marek (formally of the blog Lily Says Go) and she is one talented lady! I'm obsessed with my #sore tank and have worn it an embarrassing amount of times in the past couple of weeks. Bloom Studio Market is running a great promotion right now too! If you buy 3 tanks you can get a 4th free with the code 'FREETANK'. I used this to buy 3 tanks as gifts for a few fitness-loving friends and then got this tank (special ordered in the light gray above) for myself - score!

The countdown to the wedding has now reached 11 days (*&%$*&^#^!!!). I mean........ But next week should be a fun one on the blog because it will be wedding themed!! I'll be sharing my bachelorette party outfit (coming up this weekend!), engagement photos, bridal showers + more!

Romper Love
7.10.2014

Naturally I got rid of all of my rompers from summers past back in May, only to find that rompers are all the rage right now and that there are dozens of cute options out there! I'm falling back in love with the trend, and just ordered two for our honeymoon trip to the east coast (this one and this one). Fingers crossed that they fit, because then I'll be ready to pack!

Here are some of my favorites from around the web...

Here are a few more I couldn't display above: 1, 2, 3

What do you think about this trend? Are you wearing rompers this summer?

Summer Shift
7.08.2014

Shift dress: Rodi Boutique (sold out | very similar here + more below)
Heels: Steve Madden (similar here and here)
Necklace: Francesca's (nearly identical here) | Bracelet: vintage

There's something about mint that feels so fresh and pretty! I love this color for the spring and summer (it's one of my favorite nail colors) and this little shift dress is too fun (styled previously here).

I hope you all enjoyed the long weekend! With the wedding just 2 1/2 weeks away, wedding prep is in full swing!

Embroidered Lace
7.03.2014

Top: Language Los Angeles c/o | Jeans: Gap (old | similar)
Heels: Target (similar here and here) | Clutch: Francesca's in-store (love this one and this one)

Hello all and happy 4th of July week! I'm so excited for the 3-day weekend.

This is my second post featuring Language Los Angeles (my post from Monday is here). I love the unique lace and embroidery on this top, and the butterfly back adds a fun and feminine vibe! Their relaxed yet pretty boho pieces are too cute! I love this as a date night look, but will totally wear this top tucked into a pencil skirt for work as well.

I hope you have a happy 4th! I'll be back on Friday talking about my favorite sales going on :)

Jacy
