Blush Pink / Cropped
5.28.2014

Top: Forever 21 (similar here, here and more below) | Skirt: Boutique find (similar)
Heels: Target (similar here and here) | Bag: Kenneth Cole Reaction (old)
Bracelets: F21 (old), Lily and Laura (good options here)

I can't tell you how big of a relief it is when the timing and weather finally work out to take outfit photos! My friend Kate of Just Kate and I got to spend a little time yesterday evening shooting blog photos for each other and hanging out - so fun :)

Those of you who have seen a lot of my posts this spring know how much I'm loving crop tops and skater skirts at the moment (here for example). This particular pairing is both feminine and fashion-forward, and I'm actually thinking of wearing this top with a blush pink midi skirt I own for my bridal shower (another perk...no spending necessary)!

More love for my new pink flats (paired with Gap distressed jeans from last year).

Sorry, but I can't resist snapping pink peonies when I come across them :)

An #ootd from last week! Crisp blue and white + a hint of bright coral.
Shirt: Target | Jeans: American Eagle | Watch: Fossil | Sunglasses: Anthropologie (similar)

Hello! Aren't you glad this is a shorter work week? I had a fun 3-day weekend, filled with family time, shopping (hello outlet mall MDW sales), wedding invites, and even a little time to catch up on TV shows.

Later this week I will be starting my new job + semi-moving an hour away (clothes-only at this point), and with rain in the forecast all. week. long. I can't promise many outfit posts in the next couple of weeks. But please know, I'll be doing my best to post consistently, and to bring you the best content I can! In the meantime, please pardon my Instagram post today ;) If you know me or have followed me for awhile (follow along here), you know how truly obsessed I am with Instagram though. Seriously, it's the best.

Memorial Day Weekend
5.23.2014

Top: Target (this brand runs slightly big, so I sized down) | Skirt: Target
Heels: Steve Madden (similar here and here) | Bag: Target (sold out)
Watch: Fossil

Happy 3-Day Weekend! I'm itching for 5pm to roll around already, and can't wait for the long weekend. My plans? Wedding crafting, addressing [countless] invites, working out, and hopefully layout out! What are your plans??

Side note... I picked up this amazing pink top at Target this week and can't get enough of it (I've already worn it twice). The pop of color is bananas, and it's the type of top that can be worn with shorts or dressed up with a pencil skirt for the office. I'm obsessed.

Swing Dress
5.21.2014

Dress: Asos (on sale!) | Bag: The Limited
Sandals: Target (similar) | Necklace: Forever 21 (similar - 50% off right now)
Watch: Fossil | Bracelet: F21 (old)

I'd wanted a swingy striped dress for the longest time, and I found this little number at Asos (oh, and it's currently on sale). I've vented about this before, but I have the hardest time finding skirts and dresses of a reasonable length that don't look frumpy on me. I'm 23 and want to look fun and young, but I also don't want to have to be paranoid all day long! So, I was so excited that this one was a great length, and that it's seriously so comfy - score! I wore it dressed down Monday evening with sandals and a fun necklace for dinner and shopping with my bestie (shoutout to Haley for snapping pics for me!), but have also dressed it up with wedges and dressier jewelry for work.

News!
5.20.2014

{photo via}

I got a new job!!

Not that I don't like my current job, and that it wasn't the perfect starting point for me after college, but... I got a new job, and it's going to be so great.

I'm so excited to announce that I will be the new Director of Communications for the Lebanon R-3 School District starting in June! (For those of you who don't know, I live in southwest Missouri). There's no doubt in my mind that God 100% provided this position, and I'm so blessed to use my communication & PR skills in the fulfilling field of education. This is a community that's dear to my heart, and it's such an honor that I'll get to make a positive impact on the future of Lebanon's students, the district faculty, and the community as a whole.

My
fiancé teaches 6th grade and coaches football and basketball in Lebanon, so it's such a blessing that we'll be working in the same city with so many great people (and that I won't be commuting 2+ hours per day as I had planned).

God is good!

Spring/Summer Shopping Wish List
5.19.2014

Seashell tank: H&M | Polka Dot Shorts: Target
Mint skirt: Target | Converse: Zappos | Floral Crossbody Bag: Aldo
Heeled Sandals: Target | Distressed shorts: H&M

Summer is rolling in and I'm finding that I'm a bit low on warm weather attire - both for work and play. Because my shopping budget is a bit low right now (wedding, home buying, honeymoon...you catch my drift), I'm looking for fun yet versatile pieces! Even when buying prints I'll be looking for ones that can be paired with multiple colors (like all of the above) so that I get the most bang for my buck. Trends I'm loving are heeled sandals (can't believe that pair is from Target), patterned chino shorts, distressed BF shorts, and soft flowy tanks and dresses.

What spring/summer items are you hoping to add to your closet??

Dressed Up Distressed
5.16.2014

Top: H&M (Definitely worth buying! I want it in the blush pink.) | Shorts: Gap (similar)
Heels: Steve Madden (similar here and here) | Bag: Rodi Boutique (similar)
Watch: Fossil | Bracelets: Forever 21 (old)

Happy Friday! This has been a crazy week for me, but I will have a couple pieces of exciting news to share with you very soon. In the meantime, bear with me as I try my best to post regularly :) I bought these lightly distressed boyfriend shorts last summer and they were one of my favorite purchases of the year. They're fun to dress up like I did here, or wear with a slouchy v-neck and sandals.

I hope you all have a great weekend!

- GAP has 40% off everything through today, and 30% off everything tomorrow -

Little Red Dress
5.14.2014

Dress: Asos (available in more colors!) | Heels: Target (similar here and here)
Bag: Kenneth Cole Reaction (gift - can't find online) | Bracelet: Forever 21 (old)

This is what I wore for my birthday dinner on Saturday! I bought this little red dress last fall, but unfortunately never had a chance to wear it before it got cold, so my birthday was the perfect occasion to break it out! I love the flattering skater cut and neckline, and definitely pushed myself to wear a bright red.

For my birthday dinner my fiance, family and I ate at a Japanese steakhouse (my favorite) and it was a blast! I'm sure it did anything but help me in toning up for the wedding, but hey, you've got to live a little ;)

Wedding Shoes
5.13.2014

Throughout the past few months of wedding planning, I've been meaning to share bits and pieces of it with you. Unfortunately, I had not followed through with that until today. You may have noticed my serious lack of outfit posts this week and last, and it pains me. I had great intentions of shooting an outfit (meant for today) yesterday when I got home from work...until a massive Midwest thunderstorm rolled in [literally] 3 minutes later. I guess planning and scheduling will only take you so far... That being said, it presented a great opportunity to share a little piece of my upcoming wedding with you - my shoes!

I lucked out and found an amazing deal on these from DSW! After trying a few different sparkly silver pairs, these just felt much more like "me." I love that they're a classic shape and in white satin, but that there's a hint of sparkle and glam in the ankle strap. I'm absolutely in love, and cannot wait to wear them on my big day (just 2 1/2 months away)!

Jacy

Spotlight Weekly Link-up | Stripes
5.08.2014

Today I'm co-hosting the Spotlight Weekly Link-up with two fabulous and super sweet bloggers, Elle of Living in Color Style, and Jacqueline of Stylin' In St. Louis! I was so excited when they asked me to co-host, and love that the theme this week is stripes!

Dress: Asos | Bag: Rodi Boutique (similar)
Wedges: Target (love these) | Watch: Fossil | Bracelets: Lily & Laura (lots of options here)

I've been loving stripes even more than usual lately, and I've been looking for versatile striped pieces to add to my wardrobe. This little sundress was affordable and will be perfectly breezy on hot days.

Today happens to be my 23rd birthday :) I don't have any big plans until the weekend, but I'm excited for this upcoming year. There are so many big things happening in the coming months! The wedding, buying a house, moving, going to NYC... I'm so excited!

Jacy
