March Remix: Little Black T-Shirt {3 + recap}
3.31.2014

Tee: Target | Jeans: American Eagle
Bag: Rodi Boutique (in-store: call 417-886-1211) (similar) | Wedges: Target (similar here and here)
Necklace: Forever 21 (in-store | similar here and here) | Headband/turban: DIY by a friend (similar)

Hi all! I hope your Monday is off to a good start. For my 3rd and final 'Little Black Tee' remix look, I put together an outfit that's super easy to throw on in the spring and summer. Black and white will always be in style, and together they create the perfect template for a bright bag, jewelry, scarf, headband, lipstick, etc...

And now for all 3 looks!

Which look was your favorite??

Neon Floral
3.27.2014

Crop top: Forever 21 in-store (similar here, here and below | Shorts: CC Lake c/o (another color here)
Heels: Target (similar here and here) | Bag: Rodi Boutique (similar)
Bracelets: Forever 21 (all old)

I've been so antsy to style my new shorts from C.C. Lake since they arrived in the mail last week, and I'm even more excited to wear them different ways going into summer (I see a casual outfit post in the future)! I'm absolutely obsessed with this neon floral print, and you know I love anything high-waisted. Speaking of high-waisted...I've jumped on the crop top train! I was skeptical at first, but I've come around and think they're super chic with a high-waisted skirt or shorts (but nothing low rise...please).

All I'm missing now is a tan...

Dressed Up Sweatshirt
3.25.2014

Sweatshirt: Forever 21 (similar here and here) | Skirt: Francesca's (similar)
Heels: Target (similar here and here) | Bag: Kenneth Cole Reaction
Necklace: J. Crew Factory (J. Crew version here or cheaper version here)

I've had this outfit in mind for quite some time, but we're finally starting to get the right kind of weather here to wear something like this! Living in a smaller Missouri city doesn't exactly give me tons of opportunities to dress up, so I love the idea of mixing dressy and casual items together. Cue this little sweatshirt (which I've owned for years and years)! The shorter length works great with a high-waisted skirt, and the basic design and color make it a great palette to play up with jewelry and other accessories.

In case you missed it, yesterday's post was all about skater skirts and dresses! I linked up some of my favorite shopping finds so far, and pulled out a few of my own favorite skater skirt/dress looks from last year.

Trend to Try: Skater
3.24.2014

One of my favorite trends for this spring & summer is the skater / fit & flare hemline! It became really popular last year and I'm glad it's stuck around. I personally think this hemline is so flattering, and that it's adorable too! I'm a big fan of anything that defines the waist and then flares out away from the hips/thighs.

Skaters skirts can easily be dressed up or down, and I'm excited to wear them this summer with another of my favorite trends - the crop top! Here are some of my favorite finds:

Skater dresses are also really great pieces to dress up or down because of their simple cut and typically solid colors or simply prints. A few favorites:

I've worn this trend many times (and I'm not stopping anytime soon), and here are a few of my favorite looks!

Is this a trend you'll be wearing this spring and summer?

Dress: H&M (same dress in black (I went up a size) | similar) | Heels: Steve Madden (similar)
Purse: Kenneth Cole Reaction (old) | Bracelet: American Eagle (sold out)

I snatched up this dress from H&M because it's so versatile! Classy but fun, and a great neutral color. With a small shopping budget right now I'm going for pieces that have multiple uses and can be worn multiple ways.

Have a great weekend! I'm so glad it's Friday.

LBD + Crave Boutique Giveaway
3.19.2014

Dress: Crave Boutique c/o (just $24!) | Heels: Steve Madden (similar)
Bag: Rodi Boutique | Bracelet: Crave Boutique c/o

I'm so excited to be partnering with Crave Boutique today for a style collaboration and giveaway! I absolutely love this store because they're located in Missouri and everything in their store and online is under $50! I couldn't pass up this fun take on the little black dress. The cutouts make it unique, and the cut is so flattering. One of my favorite things about LBDs is that they are the perfect palette for adding in fun accessories like my purse & bracelet.

I nearly squealed when I saw they got these amazing Reece & Blair stone bangles in. They have them in 5 different colors and I'm obsessed with all of them. I chose one in 'Lily' because lavender/lilac is my favorite color (and wedding color), and today we're giving one away in 'Rose'! These are becoming a huge trend, and that pink will be such a cute pop of color in the spring and summer.

Winter-to-Spring
3.17.2014

Top: Piko 1988 (tons of options here including mine) | Jeans: Forever 21 (similar here and here)
Scarf: Aldo (old | similar here and here) | Booties: Steve Madden (old)
Bag: The Limited | Watch: Fossil

Hello! I want to start off with an apology for my accidental 5-day blogging break. I put together most of this post on Friday, but never had the time to finish it, and then there was never a good chance this weekend either. I don't like going this long between posts, but sometimes a complete break from blogging on the weekend can be a good thing, yes? How was your weekend?? Mine was actually really great. Trey came to stay with me while I pet/house-sat for my parents, and we went on a fancy date, played some golf, went shopping, watched his niece's & nephew's basketball games, and got in a bit of downtime. Pretty perfect :)

This is an outfit I wore recently that I realized was a great winter-to-spring transition look. I've worn this top, jeans and booties together all fall and winter, but by simply swapping out some accessories I was able to update my look for spring!

March Remix: Little Black T-Shirt {2}
3.12.2014

T-shirt: Target (I went up a size) | Skirt: boutique find (similar here and here)
Heels: Steve Madden (similar here and here) | Purse: Tobi (similar here + more below)
Necklace: J. Crew Factory (J. Crew version here)

Hello all! This is my second remix look of the month styling my little black t-shirt (check out the first look here). Besides the obvious ways to wear a t-shirt, I wanted to take it up a notch and dress up my basic black tee a few different ways to show what a versatile piece it can be! In the spring and summer I love throwing on a t-shirt with a skirt and sandals for an easy, but cute outfit. It's easy to dress up too by simply adding some heels, lipstick and a dressier bag!

Jacy

Mint Shift
3.10.2014

Dress: Rodi Boutique | Boots: Aldo (old)
Bag: The Limited | Necklace: Francesca's in-store (similar)

I'm so happy that we're finally starting to get a bit of spring weather here! I'm absolutely loving trendy bright pastels this spring like mint, coral and ice blue. I have so many spring skirts and dresses on my wish list, like this one from Simons, so I'm glad the weather is finally catching up.

I love that mint has stuck around as a spring trend another year, and this little shift dress is surprisingly versatile. Here, I've styled it as a more casual winter-to-spring transitional look, but one of these days I'll dress it up on here too.

Hope your week is off to a great start!

Jacy
