November Remix: White Jeans {3 + recap}
11.29.2013

 Sweater: Forever 21 (old | love these three: 1, 2, 3) | Jeans: American Eagle (40% off today) (similar here 50% off today)
Tank: Asos | Boots: Antonio Melani from Dillards (similar here and here)
Necklace: Rodi Boutique | Purse: Phillip Lim for Target (sold out)

I hope all of you had a wonderful Thanksgiving and are finding some great Black Friday deals!  I went shopping late last night and somehow didn't spend a single dollar...which is crazy for me! haha. I'll be taking advantage of a few online deals today though :)

Somehow November is already coming to a close, which means I'm wrapping up this month's remix series styling white jeans 3 different ways for fall and winter! 'No white after Labor Day' has definitely become outdated, and winter white is a big trend this year, so I had a lot of fun with this series.

Here are all 3 looks:

Which outfit was your favorite??

Thankful
11.28.2013

Happy Thanksgiving!
I'm so excited to have extra time to spend with Trey and our families this week! As you can see from the photos I posted, things I'm continually thankful for are my loving family, incredible boyfriend, and sweet pup Lulu. Looking back in the past year specifically I'm thankful that I was able to graduate from college in May, that I found full-time employment right after graduation, and that I'll have the means to go back to school in 2014!

I hope you all enjoy the time off and time spent with friends and family! I feel so conflicted about it every year, but once again I'll be Black Friday shopping (mainly tonight though). I feel awful that retail employees have to work, but Trey and I go every year and have had a blast making it a little tradition of our own. Do you have any fun Thanksgiving and Black Friday plans??

Hope you have a wonderful, blessed day!

The Right Fit
11.26.2013

 Top: Old Navy (same top different colors here and here) | Jeans: Forever 21
Booties: Target | Bag: Phillip Lim for Target (sold out)
Necklace: J. Crew Factory | Watch: Fossil

I love finding clothing pieces that seem more expensive than they are. I sometimes struggle finding the right fit in my clothes because I'm tall and have fairly broad shoulders...plus I love longer tops that cover some of my hips/butt (not my fav area)...so finding blouses that simply fit are moments to be celebrated! I was so happy to find this top at Old Navy because of its simple-chic look and fantastic price. Old Navy is really stepping up their game this year, don't you think?? I've bought quite a few things there this fall after not shopping there for years.

Gift Guide for the Gal Pals
11.25.2013

Pier 1 Ornaments: Gold Beaded Ball, Eiffel Tower | Sonia Kashuk for Target Brush Set | Gold Glitter Candles
Faux Fur Infinity Scarf | Gold Monogram Mugs | Essie Holiday Gift Set
Votive Candle Holder | Monogram Wine Stoppers | Rose Gold Tumbler
Rose Gold Pave Ball Bracelet | Crystal Statement Earrings | Faux Marble Coaster Set

 Christmas is my favorite time of the year for so many reasons, but one of them is that I absolutely love giving gifts. Now that I work full time and will only have a couple of days off around Christmas, I'm really trying to get my Christmas shopping done early this year! I figure that planning ahead and spreading out purchases will help me stay on budget and keep my stress level lower (because who wants to spend the Christmas season stressed?).

I put together this chic + cheap guide to gifts for your gal pals and everything is $30 or [much] less! My friends and I usually set a rough price limit on Christmas gifts for each other since there are so many gifts to buy this time of year. A smaller budget doesn't mean you have to sacrifice giving an amazing and classy gift though! When putting together this post I found so many chic little gifts for even the smallest of budgets.

I hope you enjoy! I'll have a few more gift guides coming to ya in the next couple of weeks :)

leather + leopard
11.22.2013

 Sweater: Target | Skirt: Francesca's (similar here and here)
Boots: Antonio Melani from Dillards (similar here and here) | Bag: Phillip Lim for Target (sold out)
Bracelets: Asos & Forever 21 (similar) | Polish: Essie 'Bahama Mama'

If you saw my last post, you know that I'm obsessed with [faux] leather trim this season! Target has so many fun leather trim pieces right now and I was so excited to snatch up this comfy sweater last week for a great price. I usually tuck tops into my skirts, but decided to play around with wearing my sweater over my mini, which ended up being super wearable! For even colder weather I figured I could add a pair of tights to this look too.

{Sorry for the rather sub-par photos. A dark, rainy morning + a tripod didn't make for the best photos I've ever posted, but it got the job done I suppose.}

Happy Weekend!

Fall/Winter Trend: {Faux} Leather Trim
11.21.2013

1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6

Faux leather trim is by far one of my favorite trends this fall and winter! I love the bit of edge and contrast it gives to even the simplest of pieces, like the tee and cardigan above (both from Target). Have you been wearing this trend at all? What are your thoughts on this trend?

fall casual
11.19.2013

 Top: Piko 1988 from Rodi Boutique (also here) | Pants: Rodi Boutique (size up 1 size! | similar here and here)
Booties: Steve Madden (last year | similar) | Bag: Phillip Lim for Target (sold out)
Necklace: Forever 21 (similar) | Sunglasses: StyleLately (sold out)

This was a super easy outfit I threw on this weekend for a basketball game with my dad and Trey, and then a late-night sushi date! I love these green skinny jeans from Rodi Boutique, which now has an online store (so proud of those girls)! They're so perfect to style with neutral tops like this comfy oversized one.

Have a great week! The countdown until Thanksgiving is on :)

november wish list
11.17.2013

1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6

I'm [really] trying to keep my personal shopping to a minimum this month with Christmas coming up so soon! I have my eye on a few things of course though...cozy knits, some new riding boots and some fun leather skinnies. The verdict is still out on what I'll be buying in the next few weeks though, but I'm sure I'll get sucked into some Black Friday sales.

I absolutely love this time of year and the fun things that go along with it - family time, yummy treats, cozy clothes, gift shopping and more. In the next few weeks I'll be putting together some gift guides to get into the Holiday spirit here on the blog :)

November Remix: White Jeans {2}
11.14.2013

 Shirt: Old Navy (sold out online | similar here & more below) | Jeans: American Eagle (+ another similar pair)
Shoes: Target (similar) | Purple bracelets: Lily and Laura (handcrafted by women in Nepal | great place to purchase them here)

This is my second look styling my white jeans for fall! (If you need a refresher on the first way I styled them, take a look back here). This outfit is definitely on the casual (and even hipster) side, but it's great to throw on on the weekend or to run errands.

Do you have any fun weekend plans?? I definitely thought yesterday was Thursday, so naturally it's pretty disappointing that today is not in fact Friday haha. This weekend I plan to do a little bit of shopping and a lot of relaxing. I. Cannot. Wait.

fall uniform
11.10.2013

Sweater: H&M (I went up a size in this) | Jeans: H&M (absolutely love and recommend these - tighter fit, but stretchy and still true-to-size)
Booties: Target | Purse: Phillip Lim for Target (sold out online)
Initial bangle & necklace: Brin and Bell Etsy shop (absolutely love these & her shop is so cute)

Any time I find a great-fitting and flattering oversized sweater or knit I seriously do a little happy dance in my head. They are surprisingly hard to find, yes? This little H&M knit is one of my favorite finds this fall and I will be wearing it as much as society deems acceptable! There is limited sizing left in the stripes online, but all sizes are still available in the black (which I'm thinking about buying as well).

I hope you all have a great week! I'm definitely not ready for the weekend to be over.

fancy flannel
11.07.2013

 Shirt: PacSun (similar here and here + more below) | Skirt: Francesca's (similar)
Heels: Target (sold out | similar) | Necklace: J. Crew Factory | Bracelet: vintage

I always love an unexpected pairing, so dressing up this flannel was such a fun outfit to style! Flannels have typically always been associated with more of a grunge type of style...but I've noticed in the last couple of years that they're being styled more and more as sophisticated and even preppy. Love it!

November Remix: White Jeans {1}
11.05.2013

 Sweater: Old Navy (sold out online | similar here, here & here) | Jeans: American Eagle (more below)
Boots: Lands End | Bag: Phillip Lim for Target (sold out)
Initial necklace and bangle: Brin & Bell Etsy shop | Other bracelets: F21 & vintage (similar)

I know it's pretty unconventional to be doing a remix series on white jeans right now seeing as they're usually a spring/summer item, but I by no means think your white jeans have to be stowed away for the fall and winter! When it's cold out and I'm wearing jeans virtually every day, I love to have different colors to mix in with my basic dark blue and black jeans to avoid boredom. To me these jeans are perfectly 'fall' when updated and transitioned with riding boots and a cozy sweater.

Be on the lookout for two more white jeans outfit posts coming later this month!

favorite fall 2013 nail polishes
11.04.2013

As you may have noticed, I'm quite the nail polish addict. You'll rarely spot me without any polish on, and when I'm not wearing any it's just to give my nails a mini break. One of my favorite things to try out on my nails is each season's trendy colors. Often times I don't have the money to add a lot of trendy clothing items to my closet (like camo skinnies...*sigh*), so sometimes it's nice to still wear a trend - even if it's only on your nails!

1. Gold + Glitter: Gold and glitter are both having a major moment this year, so this polish is an amazingly glam combination of the two. {Butter London holiday collection in 'Stratford Honey Overcoat'}
2. Navy: Navy is a timeless favorite to wear, but I love wearing it on my nails as well. It achieves the dark polish look without being as dark as black! {Essie polish in 'After School Boy Blazer'}
3. Army Green: Camo, army green and olive green are huge this fall, so why not try it on your nails? {Zoya polish in 'Dree'}
4. Rose Gold: I own this particular polish and it's so pretty! It's metallic and instantly adds glam to a look. {Essie polish in 'Penny Talk'}
5. Dark Gray: Dark gray is a staple fall/winter polish color for me. I own a couple of different Essie ones, but this one from NARS looks fantastic too. {NARS polish in 'Storm Bird'}
6. Emerald Green + Metallic: Emerald is Pantone's 2013 Color of the Year, and will look so glam during the holiday season. {Deborah Lippmann polish in 'Don't Tell Mama'}
7. Dark Cherry / Wine Red: Similar to the 'oxblood' trend of last year, dark cherry and wine reds are still really trendy this fall and winter. {Covergirl polish in 'Wine Stain'}
8. Matte: I think that matte nails are such a cool trend, and instead of buying a bunch of new polishes, just get the look with this top coat! {Essie 'Matte About You'}
