june photo diary.
6.30.2013

I'm sneaking in this post as June comes to a close, and as I'm thinking about it it's been such a great month! I've been lucky enough to get a pretty long break between graduation and the start of my job, so I'm definitely taking advantage of it and doing a bunch of fun summery things!

Tomorrow Google Reader will be shut down, so if you're looking a simple, great platform for following my blog and others, I definitely suggest Bloglovin! I use it every day to keep up with new posts from all of my favorite bloggers and love it. If you'd like to follow me on Bloglovin, simply click here!

{The fabulous sunglasses I'm holding in the first pic are the 'Ava Tortie Shades' from Anthropologie - love them! The nail polish shade in that first pic is 'Bachelorette Bash' by Essie, and the pink shade in the last pic is 'Lovie Dovie' by Essie. They're definitely my two favorite polishes this summer!}

june remix: skater skirt {3 + recap}.
6.27.2013

Top: GAP (basically the same one here) | Skirt: boutique find (similar here or here)
Sandals: Target | Bag: Aldo (old, but love this one)
Sunglasses: Anthropologie | Watch: Fossil
Lips: Revlon | Nails: Essie 'Bachelorette Bash'

This is the third and final look of my remix series this month, and I wanted to change it up by doing something a little more casual! I'm obsessed with the skater skirt trend (Asos has a bunch of them on sale, btw), but I usually only ever see them dressed up. However, this skirt was so easy to throw on with my favorite v-neck and sandals, which makes it a bit preppier and totally wearable for shopping, sight-seeing, lunching, etc.

And side note...I just got these sunnies in the mail from Anthropologie and I fell in love with them because they remind me of all of the fabulous Karen Walker sunglasses that I'll probably never be able to afford! They're great quality and I think I like how they look (although I'm not 100% sold yet), so they ended up being a fantastic purchase!

And now a recap of this month's 3 different looks... Which was your fav??

(check out the 1st and 2nd looks here and here, respectively)

Top: Banana Republic (similar here and here) | Skirt: ASOS
Heels: Target (similar) | Bracelet: vintage | Nails: Essie 'Bachelorette Bash'
Necklace: Forever 21 (LOVE this one)

I don't know if you remember or not, but I did an ASOS wishlist post a few weeks ago and went on and on about this skirt and here it finally is! (Don't get me started on their current sale...it's about to do disastrous things to my bank account) Because of the bold print of the skirt, I stuck with a white tank but made it a little more interesting by choosing an eyelet version.

Also, my hair seems to be doing some sort of natural ombre thing... This lightening is due to the fact that I haven't colored my hair in a couple of months (oops!)...but probably a little bit of sunlight too. I'm honestly procrastinating because I'm currently going through some major hair color boredom and am being really indecisive as to what to do next. I'm naturally dirty blonde (surprise!) but have had it dark brown for two years and auburn the year before that.
Any hair color ideas would be greatly appreciated! HELP.

California Photo Diary.
6.24.2013

I had the opportunity to travel to California for a week to visit my cousins and grandparents as a sort of graduation gift! My own family used to live in the San Diego area before we moved to Missouri, but most of our family is still out there. The two photos directly above are with my cousins... The first is with the whole family (gorgeous, right?) and the second is with my twin cousins Angie and Abbie, who just graduated from high school.

The 5 dreamy photos above were taken on Catalina Island, where I spent a day with my grandma! I'd never been there before, but it's about an hour boat ride off the California coast and it's the prettiest little escape. We were in the town of Avalon, which was so charming! You can see from some of my photos that there are the cutest colorful houses, old hotels and restaurants that rise up on the mountain behind the beach. I was also fascinated by the contrast between the beach, palm trees, and beautifully blue water versus the somewhat rugged mountain that rose up quite quickly. I loved having such a picturesque opportunity to use my brand new camera, which I received as a graduation gift from my parents (more on it at another time)!

And now a few Instagram snaps from the trip (my June photo diary will be coming to the blog soon)...

Heels: Target | Bag: Tobi (found here)
Bracelet: Asos | Rings: Gorjana & Griffin

I'm finally posting! So, so sorry. I guess I was having a little too much fun in California, and yesterday I was traveling and then exhausted from traveling. But now things should be back to normal :)

Ironically I purchased this top and skirt on the same day and accidentally saw they went together when they were laying on my bed. For some reason, I always seem to wear things together that I bought on the same day - so weird! I'm obsessed with this little leopard skirt though (and the price as well)... It makes leopard summery, which I'm clearly happy about because it's my favorite!

Top: Target | Skirt: Forever 21 (similar here)
Wedges: Target | Necklace: Forever 21 (similar here and here)
Bracelets: vintage & F21 (similar) | Lipstick: Revlon

This outfit is a summer uniform of sorts for me...it's my go-to going out look because I love looser tank tops like the peplum top I'm wearing (currently on clearance + in other colors!) and own tons of skirts like this. Add wedges and some bright jewelry and voila!

6.13.2013

Top: Forever 21 (old, but love this one) | Skirt: similar here and here
Wedges: Sam and Libby Edelman for Target | Bracelets: vintage and F21 (similar)

For my second skater skirt look this month I wanted to do something a little fancier and flirtier. I incorporated A LOT of pink into this outfit, so I guess the look I actually achieved was girly. Haha. Also, have any of you seen the adorable Sam & Libby Edelman shoe collaboration with Target? I loved so many of their designs, but the wedges I'm wearing in this look were my favorite!

If you want to see the first way I styled this skirt, you can check it out here!

Top: Francesca's (cute one here) | Shorts: Express (similar)
Wedges: Target | Bag: love this one
Earrings: Francesca's | Bracelets: vintage, Francesca's, F21

I sometimes find it so hard to style casual outfits in the summer and I definitely tend to get stuck in the rut of denim shorts and a v-neck every day! While there's nothing wrong with that, it is good to demonstrate some sort of style once in awhile ;) So, I consider this a dressed up casual look of sorts...

Today I'm flying to California {San Diego area} to visit a bunch of my family before I start my new job in the real world! Follow along on Instagram ~ @jacylenore!
