statement wedges 4 ways {finale + recap}.

Top: Ali & Kris (found here) | Shorts: H&M (old)
Shoes: Target (found here) | Purse: Tobi (found here)
Rings: F21 & H&M | Sunglasses: vintage
Nails: Essie 'Splash of Grenadine'

For my last look featuring my patterned wedges, I thought I would experiment a little with mixed prints! I'm still quite hesitant to mix prints within my clothing, so using a patterned shoe is less intimidating.

And now a recap of the 4 different ways I styled these wedges! Which was your favorite??

Top: TJ Maxx (similar) | Skirt: Lola by BCBG (similar here and here)
Heels: Prabal Gurung for Target | Bracelet & sunnies: vintage
Necklace: Anjolee

So, I scored this faux leather skirt at a BCBG outlet for $9!! Seriously. I couldn't even believe it. Needless to say, I couldn't wait to style this thing so I paired it with this springy little aqua number (a bargain find at TJ Maxx) for a sophisticated spring look. Moral of the story? Fashion doesn't have to be expensive...you just have to be willing to search a little harder sometimes :)

Also, congrats to the winner of the $50 Red Apple Lipstick giveaway ~ Jordan Smith! The winner was chosen at random through Rafflecopter.

Have a fabulous, relaxing weekend!

Top: Forever 21 (similar) | Jeans: American Eagle (similar here)
Wedges: Target (found here) | Purse: Tobi
Necklace and Bracelet: vintage
Nails: 'Splash of Grenadine' by Essie | Lips: Revlon

This is my 3rd look styling these wedges, which I wore out a couple of weekends ago! Because I wanted to play up my bright shoes I stuck with "neutrals" - skinny jeans and a black high-low top (yes, I consider denim and black to be neutrals). I threw on the fun green necklace I scored at a vintage shop for $5, and loved that my nails happened to accent the look as well!

Today (Wednesday) is the last day to enter my giveaway with Red Apple Lipstick for a $50 giftcard! Make sure to enter here :)

weekend wear.
4.21.2013

Blazer: Banana Republic (similar) | T-shirt: Target (similar)
Jeans: American Eagle | Bag: Aldo (similar)
Flats: Old Navy  (sold out)

I wore this out to lunch with my sister and our friend weekend before last, but I wanted to feature this look because it's a great example of what I wear as a casual weekend look or even of what I wear to class. I'm a huge fan of blazers as you know, and love mixing them with casual pieces to easily pull a look together. Cute flats are also essential when walking through downtown or across a rather massive campus! This Budweiser tee is one of my favorite t-shirts and I happened to score it from the Target men's section!

Top: Tobi (sold out) | Jeans: American Eagle (similar)
Booties: Steve Madden (similar here and here) | Purse: Aldo (love this one)
Jewelry: vintage, H&M, Nordstrom Rack | Lip color: Revlon (love these lip stains!)

I've posted an outfit with this top before (here!) and it's one of my very favorites to style. I love the bohemian feel, and I like to think it's Coachella-inspired (so trendy right now of course). This time I styled it with boho suede booties and a bright lip to change up the look. You can't seem them because of my humidity-stricken hair, but I also threw on some simple silver hoop earrings because I think they're such a classic piece of jewelry that can go with anything from business attire to a fun casual look like this one.

Beauty Giveaway with Red Apple Lipstick!
4.15.2013

Lipstick in 'Beach Peach' | Rallye Balm

Two of my favorite trends to emerge in the last year have been the resurgence of lipstick and living a more healthy, natural lifestyle. Meet the perfect marriage of those two: Red Apple Lipstick! They make beauty products that are free of gluten, soy, parabens, dairy and allergens. As a gluten free eater and overall health-conscious person, this beauty brand is a breath of fresh air, especially with all of the research lately about the negative effects of soy! To top it all off, their products are actually fantastic! The 'Rallye Balm' uses Vitamin E and other all-natural ingredients to help your lips actually retain moisture and I have to say that I'm addicted. I also have their lipstick in 'Beach Peach' (worn above) and it's the perfect everyday neutral to add a little extra polish to any look. (I also love this super fun pink shade!)

Red Apple Lipstick is offering a $50 giftcard to one of my fabulous readers, and I'm so excited for some of you to try their products!

I'd love to hear what products you're liking and if you entered! Good luck! :)
*This giveaway is open to international readers, but winners outside the US will have to pay for shipping ~ so it's up to you!*

stripes for spring.
4.14.2013

My gorgeous and incredibly sweet blogger friend Rita of Coast With Me and I wanted to do a fun collaboration for spring and we chose one of our favorite trends - stripes! Stripes are such a classic print, but I love their recent comeback. We both styled fairly casual looks because stripes evoke such a cool, casual feel! Make sure to check out Rita's adorable blog to see her full outfit post :)

Dress: Forever 21 (cute striped dresses here & here) | Shirt: Forever 21 (similar)

 Dress: Tobi | Wedges: Target
Bracelet: gift | Earrings: Aldo

This is one of my very favorite dresses because the color is Amazing, and because it's so flattering! I love a dress that looks great with sandals or dressed up with heels. The bright color of this one is the perfect match with my brightly patterned wedges, but still leaves room for fun jewelry.

Top: c/o Ali & Kris | Jeans: Asos
Bag: Aldo (similar) | Shoes: Aldo (love these)
Earrings: Aldo (old) | Necklace: vintage | Bracelet: F21 (similar here & here)

I'm so excited to be doing this collaboration post with my lovely friend Kate! She and I have really grown close this past year because we're from the same hometown, we both attend Mizzou, and we both blog! It's been great to get to know a gal with so much in common with me, and we've really been able to help each other out recently with blog photos :)

Coral is one of mine and Kate's very favorite colors when springtime rolls around each year, so we really wanted to feature it together! We both styled coral tops in our posts, but this color looks amazing as either a statement piece or an accenting pop of color.

Be sure to check out the rest of Kate's outfit here, as well as her adorable blog!
