leopard skirt 4 ways {part 4}.
1.28.2013

Top: Ali & Kris | Skirt: Target (similar here and here)
Booties: Target (on sale!) | Watch: vintage

The final post of my 4-ways series has finally arrived, which means you never have to see this leopard skirt again! Kidding...just not until the fall ;) Black is a rather obvious go-to color when styling leopard pieces, and I definitely maximized my favorite color in this look. I absolutely love the studded collar detailing on this top because it really adds so much interest in a subtle way.

Which was your favorite of the four?
Hope you enjoyed!

leather & a little sparkle.
1.25.2013

Top: c/o Ali & Kris | Skirt: Forever 21 (similar)
Clutch: Forever 21 (love this one) | Heels: Aldo (love these)
Nails: Essie 'Sole Mate' | Lipstick: Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter in 'Berry Smoothie'

My boyfriend, Trey, got me this faux-leather mini as one of my Christmas gifts (what a keeper, right?) because I've been loving the leather trend this winter. I thought my sheer glitter star blouse c/o Ali & Kris was the perfect compliment to my skirt because it's subtly glam, and an all-black outfit was the perfect canvas for trying out some lipstick! I absolutely love that lipstick is becoming the 'it' beauty trend right now. It's just so classic and glamorous...

With that being said, what are some of your favorite lipstick brands & colors?? Preferably on the affordable, drug store end of the spectrum :)

Skirt: Target (similar) | Tee: Target (similar here & here)
Cardigan: Forever 21 (similar) | Clutch: Forever 21 (love this one & this one)
Booties: Target (on clearance!) | Bracelets: vintage | Nails: Essie 'Sole Mate'

To me this outfit has a slight rock 'n' roll vibe, and I like that it falls somewhere between casual and dressy. I was worried that a graphic tee would look too busy with a tight print, but the crisp black and white of my tee and cardi make it work! This is probably my favorite way that I styled my leopard skirt this month, but I really like my outfit for next week too...so I guess the choice is up to you :)

pom pom.
1.18.2013

Shirt: Forever 21 (similar here and here) | Jeans: Asos
Pom pom hat: Forever 21 (similar) | Booties: Target (sold out, but love these)
Scarf: handmade by a friend | Bracelet: vintage | Nails: Essie 'Sole Mate'

It's been f r e e z i n g here the past few weeks, so warmth has been a significant factor when getting dressed. Cue my new pom pom hat, which I love. I used to have short hair, so anytime I tried to wear a wintery beanie of some variation I just looked ridiculous (my sister would actually bust into hearty laughter), but now that my hair has Finally grown out, I can Finally wear hats like this. Thank gosh!

I also know I joined the chambray train late (not because I didn't want to, but because I'm cheap and have the lankiest arms of all time), but this shirt is honestly the easiest thing to throw on and goes with everything it seems. Easy, comfy, and cute? Sign me up for that every day please!

Sweater: Forever 21 (old, but get the look w/ this one) | Skirt: Target (similar here & here)
Wedge booties: Target | Scarf: Aldo Shoes (similar)
Bangles: Forever 21 (old) | Nails: Essie 'Sole Mate'

Leopard shouldn't have to be saved for fancy occasions. At least that's what I think. I just love leopard too much to only pull it out once in a while, so why not dress it down as I've done here? A casual sweater and shoes (perhaps the comfiest shoes I own, btw) help me achieve more of an everyday look, even with a statement skirt.

peplum.
1.12.2013

Top: Tobi | Jeans: American Eagle
Heels: Target (old) | Bracelets: vintage | Nails: Essie 'Sole Mate'
Necklace: Francesca's Collections (not online, but I love this one)

The peplum hemline has been one of my favorite trends to emerge in the past year, and I love that this shape was also popular in the 1940's, which is one of my favorite times in history for both fashion and the history itself! This ultra-feminine style is flattering on nearly everyone (hooray!), and I love it on skirts, dresses, jackets and tops. Let's hope it's hear to stay for awhile, yes?

Skirt: Target (similar here & here) | Top: c/o Ali & Kris (similar)
Heels: Target (old) | Watch: vintage
Nails: Essie "Sole Mate" (the perfect burgundy polish)

Is anyone else absolutely loving the leopard trend?? I love all of the classy ways available to wear the print these days (like an infinity scarf or loafers), and just fell in love with this statement skirt. For part 1 of this month's series I dressed up my skirt with this sequin collared top from Ali & Kris, which adds the perfect touch of sparkle to so many outfits.

I was so so lucky to have the talented (and ever-so-generous) Jordyn of Jo Johnson Photography shoot photos with me the past couple of days, and I can't wait to post all of the different looks we put together! Please be sure to check out her page here.
