Just a little look at my summer on the blog today...

This summer I vowed to wear more color, and Trey & I both celebrated birthdays, as well as our one-year anniversary!

1.
This is a little peek of my 4th of July outfit! Nail colors are "First Class" and "Silver Dollar" by Revlon.
2.
This is more of an "everyday" outfit for me in the summer. I wear a lot of Bohemian/hippie-inspired pieces if you can't tell :)
3.
This is my favorite picture of Trey & I, which was taken last summer around the time we started dating. I can't help but smile every time I see it!
4.
What I wore to my internship one day. Nail color is "Turquoise and Caicos" by Essie!

Skirt & top: Forever 21. Clutch & seashell bracelet: Vintage. Wedges: Steve Madden (via Marshall's). Earrings: Aldo. Necklace: a gift from Ireland! Nail: "Haute as Hello" by Essie (the perfect bright coral I found at Apothica.com!)

This outfit has been one of my go-to going out looks this summer! I love the variety of warm colors in this skirt (which was a mere $8 at Forever 21 last summer) and that I can easily pull in  black/dark accessories or light accents like I've done here!

tuesday twist: 3 ways to style a black romper {part 3}.
8.21.2012

Romper: Audrey 3+1. Sweater: Forever 21 (old). Wedges: Steve Madden. Braided bracelets: H&M. Snake ring: Aldo.

For my 3rd and final way I styled my black romper, I threw on this long cardigan and changed up its look by simply tying it in the front! This is a more casual way to wear my romper, and it's perfect for going to class or anything really. I'm obsessed with these Steve Madden wedges too ~ I was so happy to snag them at TJ Maxx!

tangerine.

Skirt: H&M. Top and Clutch: Forever 21 (no longer online). Wedges: (here). Bracelet and Necklace: gifts from my mom. Nail: "Turquoise & Caicos" by Essie.

I bought this adorable tangerine skirt at H&M a little over a year ago, but it's been the perfect skirt this summer with tangerine and bright colors being so trendy! I love the contrast of the turquoise and black against the orange, and this high-low top is a great way to de-emphasize the tightness of this skirt (haha).

I begin my senior year of college on Monday, so I'm enjoying my last weekend of freedom for now! I can't believe I've already completed 3 years of school and that in May I'll be graduating and embarking in a career. Exciting, but scary.....

tuesday twist: 3 ways to style a black romper {part 2}.
8.14.2012

Romper: Audrey 3+1. Blazer: Forever 21 (cute ones here and here). Wedges: Target (here). Bangle and ring: vintage. Watch: Fossil (here). Nail polish: "Rumples Wiggin'" by OPI.

This week for Tuesday Twist I've styled my black romper with a pretty blazer, dressy jewelry, and wedges. When I purchased this pale pink blazer, I had no idea how much wear I would get out of it! It's proven to be the perfect piece to throw on over anything from a t-shirt to a nice dress.

In this particular look, my blazer has taken a plain black garment (it could be a dress, romper, skirt, or top) and added color, interest, and texture. Normally I would never wear a romper or jumpsuit to the office, but with the addition of this little number, this has been one of my favorite outfits to wear to my internship this summer!

Dress: BCBGeneration (I scored this at an outlet store!). Wedges: Mossimo from Target (here).

I recently wore this colorful maxi dress to a wedding, and I found it to be the perfect nighttime summer wedding attire. Although the rules have changed, I still feel weird wearing too much black or white to a wedding, so I loved the colors in this dress. The length helped make it feel more dressy for evening, and this was perfect for the outdoor setting.

If you've never been to a BCBG outlet store, I highly suggest it! I love all of Max Azria's different lines and designs, but would never be able to afford them full price. I've found four or five amazing dresses and some other gorgeous pieces at their outlet stores, which gives me the opportunity to wear some extra gorgeous clothes!

tuesday twist: 3 ways to style a black romper {part 1}.
8.07.2012

Romper: Audrey 3+1 from Britches Boutique in Columbia, Mo. Wedges: Ann Marino (from Asos, but found them here). Clutch: Aldo (old). Earrings: Francesca's Collections (this pair isn't online, but I bought them in-store recently!) Bracelet: a souvenir piece from Turkey. Watch: Fossil. Nail color: Turquoise and Caicos by Essie (here).

This month for Tuesday Twist, I'm featuring this little black romper with a bow that I bought a few years ago and have since styled several different ways. This little knit piece is nice for hot days because it can easily transition from day to night. In the daytime, I often just throw on flat sandals and whatever purse I'm carrying, but if I want to look a little dressier, I'll style it like this!
I'm so excited to show you the other two ways I've styled this romper this month! I loved putting a twist on a seemingly one-way kind of piece.

printed shorts.
8.04.2012

Shorts, tank, necklace, & ring: Forever 21 (all at least a few months old, sorry!). Bracelet: gifted. Wedges: Mossimo from Target (here). Earrings: Aldo. Nail polish: "Minted" by Revlon. Toes: "Siren" by Revlon (the perfect bright orange).

The last time I featured these shorts was back in February (check out the post here!) when I styled them for winter! For being a print, I've found these shorts to be fairly versatile and I absolutely love wearing them year-round. I've discovered that printed shorts are an amazing way to still be casual (something commonly needed when living in Missouri) but are a step above denim shorts or something like that.

I love these photos by Jo Photography! She has been so instrumental in the growth of my blog and I couldn't be more appreciative. Check out her Facebook page here
